"How are you connected to Carter?" I asked Landon when the celebration had ended and our audience had left. It was really what I was wondering about the whole time we are dealing with the guests. I usually don't do the meet and greet thing but since I am playing the role as Landon's wife, I have to put up with it and try to be realistic as possible. I can't be too stiff nor too sweet because it would be too strange and the people will possibly notice how peculiar our relationship is.
Landon turned to me with shadowed eyes. "Should you know?"
"I just wonder if it is all right to tell me. After all, we are partners in this, right?"
Instead of answering, he asked, "Do you still love him?"
"What kind of question is that?"
"Just answer me."
