"Hmm... so you are the mayor's daughter. Everleigh Delluci, right?" It was a man's voice, no doubt. Only that, it was not familiar to me in any way so I got no idea who is he. But I guess he came here for one thing: its either he is a thief or he is here to do damages because he has a grudge over Mom or something. That is really one of the downsides when you are in politics. You will always have haters even if you are a good person or not. Politicians are tied to that reality, so I don't find this surprising at all.
I stepped back a few steps when the doorknob kept on twisting. And just the moment when the door flew open, I felt a strong breeze from the wide open windows of my room and I saw a fast streak of light. The next second, all I knew is that Carter is suddenly in front of me, standing in a defensive stance.
