Chapter 1 - Chased

In a place amidst the beautiful plains of the Rivow forests, a boy can be heard screaming in a scene that could only be called funny.

"Grandfather... Grandfather, help me..."

He shouted at the boy with all his might in hopes that his old grandfather would help him with his problem.

"Arf.. arf... Damn, either that old man passed out or doesn't want to help his precious grandson" said the boy as he ran being chased by five rabbits with red eyes. They are not aggressive unless provoked, and from the looks of it the boy is getting the worst of it.

After running for 15 minutes, the boy managed to lose the rabbits and returned to his house.

Arriving there, he was indignant to see his grandfather drinking a cup of tea. Upon seeing this he asked.

"Grandfather, didn't you hear me asking for help?"

The old man looked at the child and said.

" Ruthra my boy, you must learn to solve your own problems, what will happen to you when I'm gone if I help you every time you are chased by mere rabbits?" Said the old man, not forgetting to play a little with his grandson.

In response Ruthra tries to protest but gives up.

"But.... Grandpa Zef.... Forget it, I'm too tired for that, I'm going to take my shower" said Ruthra, tired and covered in mud.

His grandfather nodded and said "Okay, take a shower and eat something to replenish your energy"

After bathing, Ruthra headed towards her grandfather, when he got there he asked.

"Grandpa, why do we live so far from the city and other people?"

Looking at his grandson Zef responds.

"Again that question kid? I already told you, your mother and father left me the task of raising you well, if you stayed in comfort and became a nobody, how would you view my daughter in the afterlife? So stop asking that." The old man said in a harsh tone to his grandson. It wasn't the first time that a child had asked his grandfather that same question.

In a tone of giving up Ruthra says "Okay, I won't ask any more questions"

Your grandfather turns his head and says right after: "Well, you're almost eight years old, in a week I'll be able to teach you some things so you don't embarrass me by being chased by rabbits"

Ruthra to save some dignity says "Hey, they were five and I was just one, one against one I would win against them"

"Yes, whatever makes you happiest" says your grandfather with an amused tone.

Ruthra decides to leave this aside because she knows that extending the subject will only harm her, knowing that he says he will rest as it is getting late. His grandfather agrees and sends him to bed.

Before that he says "Boy...you're my only family, I love you, remember that"

Ruthra turns around, looks into her grandfather's eyes and says "Of course grandpa, I love you too... Now I'm going to sleep, bye" and walks towards her room while her grandfather takes another sip of tea and wonders what what will happen to this child's future.
