Life was supposed to be peaceful for Percy now. He was in college living with his wonderful girlfriend and currently sleeping in a comfy bed by her side.
So Percy had the worst reaction when he suddenly woke up again, but on a bench in central park of all places in the dead of night. Luckily no one saw the fountain implode.
Percy took a deep breath and stomped towards Time Square. Not noticing anything different until he did a double take. Every screens were filled weirdly dressed people.
"The Deep fragrance?" Percy muttered incredulously as he gazed at the giant picture of a man dressed in a green vest with a scale design and finned gloves. One looked like a Superman knock off called Homelander. There was a blank pannel with the words Transluscent on it. The dumbest name had to be Black Noir, but Percy had to admit, his outfit does look cool.
"Quite the curious world is it not?"
Percy spun around to see Hestia standing next to him. "Please tell me your not responsible for this, your the only one who hasn't fucked up my life yet and I don't want to put you on my shit list."
Hestia managed a chuckle. Percy noticing that she was see throught as she was showered by the multicolored Lights of New-york. As if she wasn't fully there.
"No thankfully I have no hand in this neither does your father. I am afraid that this world is in dire need of your help."
"Why me and again on top of that!" Percy demanded. "you may be the only demigod powerful enough for this task."
"Which is?" Percy asked impatiently crossing his arms.
"This world needs a hero, not only a real one such as yourself, one knowing and willing and able to what needs to be done when needed."
"You want me to murder someone." Percy groaned.
"Not necessarily, if it comes to it it's your choice, but dear nephew you must know. There is no mist to hide your actions and true self here. So please try to be extra careful for your father."
"We both know that's not happening." He huffed.
Hestia's form flickered, "I cannot remain any longer, forces from our world have poured into this one. You must be extra careful for those."
"Of course, i'll see you in a few weeks aunt Hestia make sure to tell Annabeth i'm fine before she rallies forces to storm Olympus."
"Will do." Deadpanned the Goddess as she slowly faded away.
Percy sighed and rubbed his eyes. One of these days he'd bitch slap a god for roping him in another mess.
But right now he was thirsty.
Hoping that his money would work in this world Percy found the nearest grocery store. Finding the face of various super hero like figure plastered everywhere.
He huffed expecting the same effect to be common nearly everywhere else. He grabbed himself a Pepsi and managed to find some loose change that wasn't solid gold.
As he did he saw a chubby man in glasses walk in on with his hands in his pockets. Earphones plugged and he up stayed clear off the obvious cameras.
A robber maybe?
Percy acted like he was leaving as the obviously unfocused man took his place.
The sikh man gave him a friendly smile and asked him if he was taking the usual?
The man with glasses slowly and shackily raised his gun.
"I saw the light in your eyes." He exclaimed.
"Y-you want the money" stuttered the Man fearfully raising his hands.
"Are you one of them!" He yelled his hand shaking harder "your bulletproof or something like that."
"No, but I kinda used to be." The armed man jumped and spun around on Percy. Whom under the threat of the fire arm didn't even blink. He simply flicked open his pepsi and took a casual sip.
"What did that man do to you exactly?" Percy asked in a tone that did not expect any sort of intelligent answer.
"He's a super terrorist!" Exclaimed the man his certainty as shaky as his tone.
"Huh Huh." Percy deadpanned. "Let me guess you left your proof in your other oversized pants?"
"You wanna die for a piece of trash terrorist!" He snapped pointing the gun inches away from Percy's unimpressed face.
"You wanna die for something that could have been easily avoided?" Percy coldly asked back. His wolf stare leaving the mortal before him quivering in his shoes.
Percy noticed his arm tensing up. The demigod casually back handing the gun out of his hand as it fired straight throught a shelved can of of soda. The liquid pouring out on the ground.
The man back away howling in agony as his hand hung limply, like the stringless puppet he was.
Percy approached his finger to the man's forehead and flicked it. The man falling on his back uncounscious.
He sent a nod to the shell shocked cashier and walked out of the building. A stormy expression twisting his face.
Of course with the police now on it's way and the video going viral, there was only one question on countless people's mind.
Who was that boy?
Of course Vought was quick to take the credit. Claiming he was a new superhero in training, even though they were about as clueless as everyone else. Which none of them liked.
Stan Edgar didn't think much of it, but the fact that a single supe was left unregistered could cause problems on the long run.
So he got some young decent elements to track down the Boy.
Meanwhile Percy was taking a nap at the bottom of a bay. As tiny rays of light pierced throught the murky depths Percy woke up.
He needed informations, obviously he could try the internet, but he didn't know what came throught here. Maybe it was just a few demons and monsters, but for all he knew a titan could be running around this world.
He needed to be careful.
But he also needed unbiased informations. Since it was clear that anyone with super powers here was treated like the second coming.
Percy wondered if that would be how he would be treated if there was no mist back in his world. Or would he be treated like a freak that needs to be exterminated.
Personally he preffered the latter. If he had been raised in a world like this he might have ended up as a spoiled brat with a god complex.
Now more aware of his limits than ever, or more lack thereof. This was a prospect that genuinely terrified him.
Percy sighed and decided that he needed to start off somewhere. So the internet it is.
New-york looked relatively the same. So Percy managed to find his way to an internet cafe. Which he didn't even know those were even real.
One cheap coffee later he was browsing the internet for all of the information he could find, but he assumed that he needed to take everything with a grain of Salt. Given the massive corporate nature of this Vought internationals. Lies were bound to be riddled everywhere.
It took a while, but he educated himself on the various super hero teams all over the world. The seven, the G-Men, Teenage Kix, Young Americans. That one was first place for dumbest name and gimmick, but Percy might have been a little bit biased. Having been subjected to military and religious school he naturally didn't have the highest opinion of Military and Nun based super heroes.
After hours of reading up on this world's history and noticing the many inconsistancies, Percy declared the internet fairly useless in his situation.
Although Annabeth would be proud. He didn't need an outside source to tell him it's best to know about your ennemies before taking them on, but how was he supposed to do that?
Seeing the news and his research yielded a few answers. The sevens are the only one he has to worry about, but he was still only one person. He couldn't be found in the sea or matched there. That much was obvious, but he couldn't just hit and run and there's no way every super powered being is inherently evil.
If his trials the wars and all of his ennemies taught him anything. It's that not a single soul in this world is truly born evil.
Percy sighed and rubbed his eyes. This might not take a few weeks after all. Whoever's idea this was they were getting drowned when he was coming back home.
"Excuse me young man?" A heavy hand settled on Percy's shoulder. He glanced up and raised an eyebrow. The man was tall, dressed in fancy dark blue and black light body armor. With some rings of bronze collor around his biceps and his collar.
The addition of a pilot helmet with it's visor pulled up was quite strange. Since it was clear by the night stick, that this superhero was a glorified cop.
"What is it?" Percy ask with all of his remaining patience.
"Me and the boys at the station just want your testimony about yesterday's incident at the grocery store." He asked with a disarming smile. Percy leaned past him, no shooter in sight or any officers dressed in civil clothing. So he came alone, either as a gesture of good will or because he didn't think Percy was any actual trouble.
"Isn't There cameras in that place? You should have been able to gather everything you needed from the footage?"
"I believe in hearing every sides of the story." He answered his smile coming back exactly the same way as the previous one, almost like a robot. A practiced gesture no doubt.
"Sure." Percy trailed off suspiciously. He got up and the cop wrapped an arm around Percy's shoulder. Making the teenager tense.
"I'm Blue Hawk, might have heard of me might have not. I don't do this for glory. Can I ask you a question son?" Blue Hawk asked as he guided Percy towards the exit.
"Sure." Percy half heartedly replied.
"Did that man seemed threatened?"
"The cashier? Of course poor man was begging for his life" Percy huffed.
"No i'm talking about the other man. You see his name is Joey Kenneth and I don't want an honest American citizen to have his life ruined over a misunderstanding."
Percy pulled away. "A misunderstanding? He repeated coldly. "That man was just working and minding his own buisness. He was polite, he was nice he didn't even frown when I pulled out a huge handful of change. With the images of that idiot pulling a gun on an innocent man, clearly unprompted. How do you come to the conclusion that he felt threatened?" Percy demanded.
"It's Blue Hawk." Voices whispered all around them.
"What did 16 year old boy do to you Huh!" A voice demanded. Percy turned to a dark skinned girl holding up her phone.
"That case is closed ma'am." Blue Hawk replied suddenly raising his voice.
"You curb stomped that boy so hard the pavement cracked! It's a miracle he's still in one piece, but he'll never walk again!" She exclaimed not stepping down when Blue Hawk flicked his night stick open.
Percy saw more people approach them. He could see Blue Hawk's demeanor violently shift with each skin tone around them. He was getting agitated.
Someone shook a finger in his face and like a bull seeing red, Blue Hawk sent the poor regular human man flying into a computer. The machine shattering in hundreds of pieces under the force of the impact.
No one could have expected what came next. Especially Blue Hawk.
The police themed super hero flew throught the window like a canon ball. Slamming into the side of a car so hard it flipped on it's side and slid a few feet. Blue Hawk being imbeded into the dented metal from the strenght of being flung so hard.
Percy looked from side to side. With at least a dozen phones aimed at his face he remembered something Annabeth had told him.
"Damn you Murphy's law." He deadpanned as people started cheering for him.
In barely a few hours most of New-york and several states had seen the various videos of the event. Nearly all of them naming him a hero.
It also popped up on the phone of a certain William J. Butcher.
"Well would you look at that." The man said a wicked smile stretching his lips.
Ally or ennemy, that boy was bound to be useful.
A/N
For the boys stan out there who think Percy can't keep up, I want to put some things in perspective.
Percy can move 50 tons of water on a whim (demigod diaries), create stationary storms that can cover nearly an entire city block and ragdoll the titan of light. Ma Gasket casually shrugged off getting hit by a 3 ton metal claw and ripped it apart casually. Yet at barely 13 Percy's hits could affect Polyphemus a cyclop massively stronger than her.
Percy casually parried a bullet at close range. A red fiat 500 fell on Arachne and she dragged Annabeth away down the edge of Tartarus. Her and Percy fell 14 feet before Percy with a single hand caught the entire weight. Which is a casual feat since he kept going for several minutes until Annabeth regained counsciouness. And he could have gone longer, point is he easily held 2500 pounds.
Enceladus the giant opposite of Athena struck mount diablo in the lost hero CH 44. And the entire mountain shook. Percy later on tanked and blocked hits from stronger giants.
He casually destroyed miles of glacier and shook hubbard glacier by stricking it. (Look up how massive that thing is) before destroying several hundred acres of ice using his powers.
Porphyrion Otis and Ephilates can consistently react and parry cloud to ground lightning shot by Jason. Which travels around over 200000 miles per hour and Percy can keep up in a battle with those Giants. Parrying blocking and swapping slashes and hits with them.
And lastly mount saint helens did erupt in real life in the 80s. It equalled up to 24 megatons of thermal energy. Percy not only caused that, but he survived it and he stayed counscious even shortly after being shot in the air.
