Chapter 1
The Sedas In the woods of Virginia lived Mr. Richard Seda and his wife, Mrs. Sarah Seda. Richard was a car dealer and his wife, an artist. They both loved what they did for a living. The couple had a beautiful eight-year-old daughter called Ella who always loved to help her mother in the kitchen. At her leisure time, she will sit in her father's can when she was not reading superhero books in her library.
Among the many things that Ella dreamt of being someday was to be a superhero. Anytime her mother would ask her what she wanted to be in future, she will say, "I want to save the world from evil." "Only superheroes save the world, my little pumpkin, and you are not one, "Mrs. Seda will always reply. Ella will smile.
* About a mile from the Sedas lived the Houstons. Josh was the last child of Mr. and Mrs. Houston and his best friend was Ella. Ella and Josh joined the school bus to school together every day. They also played and studied together. Josh had super shoes which made him run faster than anybody else. He found the pair of shoes in their backyard when they first moved into their house about three years ago. He discovered its special abilities when he tried them on.
One afternoon after school, Ella was playing alone on their compound. The skies were cloudy. Mr. Seda had gone to work and Mrs. Seda was in the kitchen cooking for the family. It was about 4pm. "I need some help in the kitchen, honey," Mrs. Seda said to Ella. "Just a minute, mummy. I will join you soon," Ella screamed back. She would always help her mother in the kitchen after school. Today, however, she was running around on the compound. "This is what superheroes do. They exercise," she said to herself. After a while, she went to sit on her seesaw and started swinging up and down. "The weather man on TV indicates that it is going to rain soon. Come on in, Ella," her mother screamed. She was still swinging happily on her seesaw. "Just a minute mummy," she pleaded. It started drizzling. Ella run off into her father's garage. Parked in there was a new car he had brought home to be sold. She hopped in and pressed the power button on and put it off again. She did it again and again and opened the door. She wanted to get out. It was then that she saw a box on the passenger's seat of the car. It was glittering. Curious, she opened it. It was a smart watch and an umbrel la-looking super gun. "Wow! This looks great!" she exclaimed. "Who might this be for?" she probed.
"This is a watch but that is a gun. No. It is an umbrella." She was confused. She got hold of the super gun, got out of the car and pointed to the entrance of the garage. She pulled the trigger. Pooow! Pooow! Pooow! In the split of a second, the gate of the garage had been torn into fragments by the lasers of the into a shield as it shot. gun. The umbrella-shaped gun turned "Whoops! This is amazing!" She blows off the smoke from the gun. Mrs. Seda run to the garage in her apron. There was smoke all over.
"Ella! Ella! Are you fine? Are you there, Ella?" "I am right here, mummy," she responded. She had gone to hide the super gun in one of his father's abandoned cars. "What happened? Let us get out of here immediately," Mrs. Seda instructed. They both run out of the garage.
