A few minutes afterwards, I saw something coming my way. ' Probably nothing serious.' I conjectured. Little by little it got closer and I became alarmed. Whatever it was, it was fast. When it got close enough to make light of it's shape, it looked like a giant catfish. A fish who's head looked like it had an exoskeleton or maybe it wore a helmet. One thing was certain, it wasn't going to slow down. 'Is this my end?- What happens after this?- I don't want to die. Hey Al' come save your master. Are my going to die before I rest in peace? My death? How about vengeance?' All sorth of things came into my mind. It was like one of those moments in life when death stares you in the eyes, then your life flashes before your eyes in a split second. 'well not this time.'
This split second was my time of redemption. Unbeknownst to me the big fish was just a meter away from the boat, it slammed it's huge body against the boat which summersaulted on the surface of the water. I was sent flying looking at the fish which followed my lead with it's mouth ajar. In the fright of the moment, I deeply wished for a miracle of any sort to happen. In-between the jaws of death, I shielded my eyes with their lids. I was hit by what felt like a heavy pillow from the left. It was painful yet so comforting. My eyes were still closed for I didn't want to witness any of the horror. I fell on the water with my burden but it felt pointless at this time. I felt weight on me but weirdly felt comfortable. The were some soft sensation on my chest and my hands gripped strongly a mixture of tightness and softness which delivered a smooth texture. I had to unlid my eyes and I did. And that moment our eyes met. The only thing that skipped my mouth was 'Wow'. The moment felt like eons but all ended when the big fish came crushing into the water. She stood up and seemed to be on alert. I thought my eyes were faulty but they were not. As she stood before me looking all serious and alert, her hair grew longer. They grew till they touched the surface of the water, then strand after strand of her hair begun to get attached to her body. Though it was a strand after the other, everything was over in a second. After her metamorphosis it looked she wore a tight body suit. From behind, her perfect back was bare but from her waist to almost her knees it was like she was clothed in tight white shorts. Her front was just wonderful, the strands run down her shoulders then coiled around her while part run over the clavicles. Strands from both sides met right under her throat where the clavicles bulged out, then they came down hanging leaving everything bare. Truly, this new attire of hers brought out her bustiness and her curviness. Everything was evident.
There was about 11 feet between us and our common enemy. It stared at us like we were the prey. How it showed just it's head and back was like a lion waiting for a chance to pounce. Was it afraid of my friend perhaps?- or it was just being cautious. Unaware of the sudden movement, before I could comprehend the situation her two feet were in the face of the beast. 'Did I miss it when I blinked?' I wondered. She must have somehow shot herself like a missile. Suddenly, it was like a bomb landed before me. A crazy explosion sent me flying and rolling. I don't remember how many yards I flew, but the fish went further away for a fact. She turned to look at me and her eyes seemed sorry and I gave her a thumbs up. She smiled and again she vanished. I opened my eyes this time but it was for nothing. All I saw was a white flash. The explosion came again, but this time I braved myself. She seemed to have halted a half way to the beast. I sqeezed my eyes to see clearly and the shock sent more terror down my spine. How horrible it was . The fish had shot one of it's wiskers into her left shoulder. From how she stood, the shot seemed to be going for a more lethal hit but she managed to evade it. Her hands clutched tightly to the wiskers, "AH!" Her face contorted as a result of the pain. I wanted to help, but fear had made me still. I just stood by grinding my teeth and sheltering my fingers in my palm. The terror made me cruel. 'Why not run and leave the poor damsel?- I can cover a lot of distance by the time it would be done with her.' -As if I could! The fear wouldn't let me and neither my pride. Then I saw the three remaining wiskers rise. How long they were. They pointed at her with the intent to kill. She tried freeing herself from the one in the shoulder but it seemed to have been locked. I knew I had to move. My will broke through the chains of fear and I began to run, running to save my own. Not even a half way through and I was too late, the first went into her right thigh, the second in her gut then the third in her chest. It was as if it enjoyed seeing her in pain. I was too late but I couldn't stop running, that fiend tossed her at me and I cought her in my arms with care.
"Hey you?- Hey open your eyes." Slowly she opened them and smiled.
"Why did you do this?" I asked with my eyes holding tears like a dam ready to rush out. Slowly, her eyelids were coming down but I wouldn't let it. "Open your eyes I say! Don't leave me. Don't leave me alone. I know it is selfish but stay one more minute. Just one more and talk to me." She rose her right hand and placed it on my left cheek then said;
"At least call my name." She coughed up some blood, smiled again as if to show her bravery. A tear, slowly like an adorable snail, slidre out then took it's last ride down her fair chin. Then the tear detached itself into the still lake. Her hand fell down from my cheek. From there I don't know what happened, for everything went dark.
