Eva's POV
I awoke to a world of agony, my body a frozen wasteland of pain. The room around me was filled with light. Each breath felt like daggers of ice piercing my lungs, a cruel reminder of the torment I had endured. The memories of the witch's cruel laughter as she froze my very soul haunted my shattered mind. As I struggled to move, my limbs protested, stiff and unresponsive. The binds that had bound me were gone, but the phantom weight of their touch still lingered, chaining me to the horrors of my past.
From the corner of my eye, I noticed a head of dark hair that belonged to someone sleeping. Her back moving up and down with her rhythmic breathing.
