Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - A Walk Through Hell; Gluttonly

After continuing through the cave for several hours without rest, fat lady Fergerson needed a rest, so the group decided to set up a small campfire and take a break.

During the hours of travel, the team took on multiple groups of goblins, ranging from 3-5 beasts in each group. Without much of a choice, Sun did the most he could to help, which was not exactly a lot at all.

In the midst of running around the battle area, trying to kill off any goblins he could, Sun surveyed his team's abilities.

The bearded man, named Roger, yielded a large axe that appeared seemingly out of thin air. He fought like a rouge, having no technique or skill, and swinging the heavy weapon around as he pleased. Thankfully, he had quite a bit of muscle, and the sheer power of the axe was enough to defeat the goblins he was fighting.

For Sun, Arthur's fighting style was most impressive. It technically wasn't even a fighting style, more like conjury. He would use a tall wooden staff to cast magic spells! Multiple blazing balls of fire which were as large as soccer balls, blades of red hot flame, and many other fire-attributed skills were at his disposal.

At first, this completely blew Sun away. This world actually contained magic! It was an exhilarating experience, just being near someone who used it.

In comparison, lady Fergerson, or addressed by her first name, Idylle, did jack shit. Almost contributing less than Sun himself.

She also used magic, however, it paled in comparison to Arthur's. Using a small silver wand, she cast pitiful spells which created gusts of winds that would push the goblins around and freak them out a little. It was honestly funny to watch.

Even though their teamwork wasn't exactly amazing, they managed to fight off all of the goblins and survive at the very least.

Even after fighting and walking for so long, their job still wasn't done. As Sun sat next to the campfire with his teammates, he thought of how to progress on. With the information he had, he knew that they would have to eventually arrive at the final area of the cave. However, he didn't think it was possible to clear it.

Each cave of the same stage usually had a similar construct in terms of the number of beasts and the type of beasts in each area of the cave. According to Arthur, most beginner-stage caves, especially ones containing only goblins, would have boss rooms that contained a total of 20 goblins.

It was a crazy amount, considering that the entire team could barely fend off 5 with their horrible synergy.

Even when being told by Arthur to cooperate with each other a little more, Roger would simply ignore him, and Idylle would try to argue back, saying that she was doing the most work and was contributing the most to the team fight. It seemed like a lost cause.

Sun also noticed that the food had started to run out. His first ever meal, which he had around eight hours prior, consisted of 6 strips of meat. Although it was not a small amount, it was nowhere near filling, considering he hadn't eaten for two entire days before that.

Now, everyone was eating two strips of meat jerky, which they had only started to do after Sun told everyone that the meat would run out too quickly. With this method, they would at least eat for another three days or so.

However, as it became the time to trash the camp and continue on, Idylle had a problem with leaving.

"Wait! How can we leave already? We haven't rested nearly enough, and I have only eaten so little!"

Sun looked at her with a doubtful expression.

"I mean, I'm pretty much starving here." She yelled, refusing to leave.

...

"You? Pretty much starving?" Sun said out of nowhere.

Both Roger and Arthur turned their gazes to him, slightly surprised. Sun usually wouldn't speak at all, unless totally necessary. Like that time he suggested for everyone to eat a little less.

To Sun, however, this fat, lazy slob had started to get quite annoying. Even he could not contain all of his frustration.

"By pretty much, you mean not at all? Look, woman. I don't know what your plans are, but mine is to get out of this shithole in one piece. If you were to eat any more, the rest of us would have to as well, and we would run out of food and starve to death before even reaching the final room. So, how about you stop whining like a petty child - no matter how much stuff has been handed to you so easily in life - and get a grip." He said sternly before starting to trash the campfire.

Idylle was shocked. It seemed that no one had ever spoken to her like that in her entire life. However, she didn't say a word and kept quiet.

After, Arthur and Roger helped Sun trash the camp and the team continued on towards the final room of the cave.

They travelled four more hours, it was an arduous process. Maybe it would have been easier under normal circumstances, but with the incredibly unsymmetrical and difficult terrain to traverse, and the constant wailing and complaining of Idylle, it was like a walk through hell.

Finally, it seemed that they had arrived at the final area of the cave, or at least close to it.

They arrived at a dead end that led to a large stone door, with seemingly no ways to open it. Pushing it open wouldn't exactly be wise, as the door probably weighed hundreds of tons. There were no buttons nor levers around, and there was no puzzle to solve or anything of the sort either.

"Any ideas?" Roger said, first looking to Arthur, who still seemed to be thinking of a way to open the door, and then Sun, who was no different.

"Well, we have met all of the criteria for the entrance into the final room. We each have an entrance rune and have killed every single goblin inside. There shouldn't be any reason for us to not be able to enter." Arthur said, still looking at the door as he scratched his chin while thinking.

"Well actually... about that," Idylle spoke.

All three of them quickly turned to look at her.

"I've been saving this little guy for something... an important time." She said embarrassingly as she pulled out a small goblin seemingly from thin air.

The way she took the goblin out was similar to the time when Roger took out his axe, they both seemingly came from weird, transparent rings.

However, there was no time to think of that, as Sun was already shocked at the fact that this woman had been keeping a baby goblin hostage.

"What do you mean important time!?" Roger suddenly yelled, his face teeming with anger.

"Lady Fergerson... you surely didn't mean... to eat it right?" Arthur said, seeming slightly shocked and even a little bit disgusted.

"Eat!? Of course not!" Idylle's face became extremely red as the baby goblin started to become antsier, slightly scratching at her arms.

'What!? What the fuck is wrong with this glutton!?' Sun thought to himself, wildly shocked.

Even though a goblin wasn't exactly a human, it was still a primate, and as he had figured out prior, was like a toddler.
