Chapter 1 - Ogun; The Arrival.

Chapter 1

The night was as dark as a void with no light, the dim sky devoid of neither the stars nor the moon light. The sky weeps so heavily one could only imagine the pain it was feeling, no, this was just another heavy rain fall from the heavens which most would refer to as the tears of the sky god. Whether this is true or not, it sure was one heavy rain. The only light illuminating from the sky is that of the sparkling white lightning soaring through the sky with thunderous roar, a roar so loud it scares the kids and the neighborhood cats. The streets was empty like every other late night, it was too late at night for anyone to be moving about, the rain alone was enough reason for all to stay indoors, except one person. Water splashes as his feet hits the watery ground, his heart beat raced as fast as he ran. He wasn't being chased but rather in a hurry to catch up to something, or someone. The sound of the rain pouring down was just as disturbing as the thunder, the night was definitely a noisy one but not noisy enough not to hear the sound of a group of men arguing. His right foot hits the ground with so much force his speed reduced but, his body movement fully stopped upon his left foot hitting the ground. His upper body was bent downwards in form of a bow, both his hands placed on his laps for support, panting heavily as he tried to catch his breath as if he had ran from miles away.

He looked towards his right side, seeing flashes of touch light held by five men coming from an alley. They all had some sort of weapon held in their hands, one of them definitely had a gun, that part he was sure of. He stood up straight facing the men who had noticed him, they seem suspicious.

"You know, it's a bit late for a gang of men to be moving about with sacks of bags and well, a gun." His voice came out loud on purpose, attempting to be as audible as possible due to the noisy sky. The men stopped, their facial expression filled with shock and confusion.

"And don't you think it's way passed your bed time kid?" One of the men replied as the rest busted into laughter. But yes, he was just a kid. A kid running in the middle of the night despite the rain, a rather strange kid, but even despite his young age he wasn't fearful of what might happen. He looked just about fourteen Years old, short black hair with dark eyes. He wore a white polo that has a written "believe in Christ" on the chest area, an ankle length black trouser accompany with a white snicker on his foot. He walked up to the men, his eyes slowly accessing each one of them at a time, they all had a smile on their faces but their confidence wasn't as big as the kid who stood before them with both hands folded as if about to give out a punishment to his juniors.

"Hmmmm, I can feel it. You are all sinners, I do not know thy crime but so long as thy as committed a sin before, now, or will commit a sin, thy Lord has bestowed me the power to punish thee. Unless thy repent, confesses and seek forgiveness of the Lord, thy will be punished."

The men stopped smiling as the words coming out of the kid's mouth sounded too biblical or maybe they were just surprised a kid could be this bold, either way, one of them stepped forward and spoke "yes we are sinners, we confess to stealing from the bank at the other street, and I confess to killing the security guard," he sounded so genuine even the kid believed he was truly repenting but then the next words the man spoke changed it all "but so what if we steal and kill, it's not as if there is anything a kid like you can do about." They all busted into laughter again, mocking the now furious kid and his words.

"Mocking a servant of God," the kid's voice got deep and matured, his eyes shined brightly. Out of fear one of the men tried to cut him with a knife "Matthew 26:52 Then Jesus said to him, put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword." The boy spoke, quoting a bible verse which miraculously happened. The man about to strike him with a knife stopped and kept it back from where he brought it out, and from behind another took said knife and stabbed him thus fulfilling the perishing.

"Hey, what's wrong with you. Why did you do that?"

They all starred at the man who just killed one of their own, confused and shocked, questioning his actions. They turned their attention back at the kid, now trembling with fear. The kid before them was definitely no ordinary kid, three out of the remaining four knelt down as they begged for forgiveness but one stood his ground being extremely furious.

"Leviticus 19:11 You shall not steal. Nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another."

The boy sighed as he tried calming his rage, he decided not to punish the three men who seek for forgiveness.

"Ephesians 4:28 He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need."

The three men were bathed with a bright light, cleansing them of their sin for they shall sin no more. But suddenly a gunshot was fired, the three men quickly lay on the floor with their hands on their hand as if the police were about to arrest them. But no, it wasn't the police but rather the man with the gun who kept firing at the kid but much to his surprise none of the bullets harmed the boy as the bullet turned to dust upon contact, and when the gun empty all its bullet, it turned to dust as well.

"No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper."

Said the kid, and it came to realization that he was no ordinary kid. His power comes from the very words written in the bible, a spiritual power rare to the human world. First he unarmed an armed man about to harm him and punished him by reciting a bible verse, then purified souls that stole as stealing is a sin. But then what happens to the one who killed and tried to kill him, the last man standing thought as he drifted backwards with fear of what could befall him for his sins.

"Revelation 21;8 As for murderers and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur."

And so it came to pass as killing and lying is a sin against God, from beneath the fourth man came a burning flame which engulfed and consumed him until nothing is left of his very existence. The three men on the floor shivered unable to look at the boy, who simply walked away reminding them to sin no more and follow the Ten Commandments as the judgment of the Lord is fierce. The boy continued his race down the street as the rain kept showering while the sky roared with thunder, the weather was surely strange and different than normal, it made him wonder just which god is going to arrive. That's right, his reasons for moving about was because of the prophecy the Church received days ago "he shall break the barrier between the spiritual realm and the physical realm, he shall create a path for the gods and goddess, the physical realm shall become the battlefield of good versus bad, the gods and man shall battle to the very end." His mind kept pondering on which god is going to arrive, it's definitely not a goddess as the prophecy used he not she so who. "Or is it Sango the god of thunder" his mind questioned him, due to the weather it's only natural to assume Sango would be the one in the prophecy but still it was too early to decide. He kept running, it was almost time for the event that would change the human realm to take place, his desire to be the first on the scene is the boost energizing him. Though the rain was really starting to annoy him, his whole body was drenched and soaking wet, Sango or not, he's had enough of the weeping sky so he took it upon himself to stop it.

"I serve the Lord, the God of Israel, Elijah said to Ahab. As surely as the Lord lives, no rain or dew will fall during the next few years unless I command it."

And so the boy recited the bible and it came to pass, the rain suddenly ceased and the lightning stroke no more. The crescent moon took form as the countless stars filled the night sky, the darken night shined with brightness from above, the breeze was cold and gentle as it blew. If not for the remnants of water on the ceilings and the wet ground, one could argue rain never fell that night. He stopped running as he told himself this was the exact place the path would be created, he stood in the middle of the road, a roundabout that leads to four directions. He turned his body around, looking at each direction while wondering just when, where and how this would go down. But it didn't matter to him, he came here with the sole intention to stop the catastrophic about to befall the physical realm. And suddenly it became, the once gentle breeze became fierce and blew violently, turning into a tornado that reached up to the sky, a symbol like a traditional veve appeared on the ground. His eyes widen, his eyebrows raised, his lips trembled to utter the word 'no way', he knew whom that symbol belonged to. The violent tornado died down, dispersing back into a gentle breeze but it left something behind, someone behind or to be precise, a god behind. The boy stood up, his lips shifted apart as a smile came upon his face. He felt a rush as his body vibrated, this was a feeling of excitement. He walked towards the god, slowly closing the gap between them and as he got closer he could perfectly see the appearance said god took along with his companion, a dog of four feet tall, black as the night with deem red eyes.

"I'm Pastor James, a member of the Church and one of the TEN Commandments of God, representation of Thou shall not steal. I would love to welcome you to the physical realm but huh, I have to send you back to the spirit realm."

James was his name, the kid gifted with powers beyond human understanding. He belonged to a group of spirituality known as The Church, they are humans who made the decision to dedicate all their life to God, more like the Nuns. Their sole purpose in life is to serve God and battle the evil that dwells in the sinful world. Their soul is so pure and innocent they are all spiritually gifted, able to pray for miracles to happen. Just as Jesus told his disciples that they shall do more miracle in his stead, The Church can be seen as that statement coming to pass. Within The Church lies two groups and one of them is the Ten Commandments which consist of ten individuals representing the commandments of God. Each bestowed with powers to do the impossible, even if that means battling a god.

"So this is the physical world, interesting. You look like a child, one without respect, but you are no child. I can sense the power within you, a rather strange one that is unknown even to me."

His voice sounded so deep and hoaxed, he stood tall like a giant. Seven feet tall with massive chest and arms, his muscular body can be compared to none. Covering his head is a crest-like shaped cap that has a flap on both siding hanging midair like a dog's ear, his left hand stroke his jaw filled with black beards. He looked away from the boy as his sweltering dark eyes viewed his vicinity, around his neck lies four red traditional beads which could also been seen on his wrists and ankles. He wore a long slim and streamlined pant which is known as Kaamu and Sokoto Elemu in the Yoruba tribe, he stood bare footed revealing his large feet. He dressed like a typical Yoruba man as he was no other than a god worshipped by the Yoruba tribe and the Nago people, the one known as the god of war and iron Ogun.

"1 Kings 19:11 As God passes Elijah, there is a wind so powerful that it breaks some of the rocks; then there is an earthquake; then there is a fire; and finally, there is calm."

And so it began, the fight between James and Ogun, and as James spoke the verse the already calm wind once again blew violently. Tearing apart several buildings from afar, soon the earth began to shake and rip apart, an earthquake strong enough to shook the entire city. After the quake followed flames that burned along with the wind, a storm of wind, earth and fire ruptured covering a vast amount of land with Ogun being at the center of it all.

"Wind, earth, fire, once everything calms….you shall cease to exist Ogun."
