The witches gathered in the courtroom after being summoned by the King. Sophia, a fellow witch, leaned towards Olivia and asked, "Olivia, why do you think the King called us here so suddenly?" Olivia closed her eyes and let out a sigh."Isn't it obvious? We've failed to find the location of Fork's land once again, and he's furious. Who knows what he'll do to us now," Olivia replied with a heavy sigh.Sophia's heart raced as she heard approaching footsteps. They all froze in place as the King entered the room. His furious gaze swept across the room as he made his way to the throne. The witches dared not lift their heads or meet the King's gaze. They stood there trembling, unable to utter a single word.Sophia's head snapped towards the door, alert to the sound of someone entering. A gasp caught in her throat as she laid eyes on the vampire prince for the first time. He was nothing like the image her friends in the village had painted for her. They spoke of a kind and caring prince, whose smile could warm hearts and whose green eyes held a certain charm. But now, his eyes were blood red, far from the green she had always dreamed of seeing. She had heard whispers that he was different from his father, a stark contrast to King Edmond. But what stood before her was a replica of the king himself. William, with his slicked-back hair and a black suit, exuded a similar presence. His once beautiful green eyes were now tainted with red, a reflection of his craving for blood. He walked with grace, ignoring the witches standing beside him. It was clear he held no regard for them or anyone else. His mind and heart were consumed by thoughts of Kristen and seeking revenge on his father."Father, you summoned me?" he asked, devoid of any emotion. Sophia's entire body trembled upon hearing his cold voice, and she instinctively shrank back, seeking refuge among the others in the group. The fear she felt towards both the King and the Prince was overwhelming.Sophia resided in a small village situated in the vampire land, far removed from the opulence of the palace. Chaos engulfed the vampire land when the witches from Fork's land abducted a human girl. In response, King Edmond ordered the summoning of all witches within his domain to the palace. When the palace guards arrived in the town, they forcefully delivered the King's message, practically dragging everyone along against their will.In the vampire land, witches held no standing and were mere prisoners, their own kind left behind after the war. With nowhere else to turn, they were compelled to work for the king or face certain death at his hands. Forced to become slaves to the bloodthirsty vampires, they relinquished their lives and safeguarded their children. Sophia, too, possessed formidable powers as a witch, but she lacked control over them. Her grandmother, recognizing the destructive potential of Sophia's magic, forbade her from using it. Sophia lived in constant fear of her own abilities, opting instead to conceal her powers and live the life of a powerless witch. The king smiled at William wickedly looking at his son. He was satisfied with his transformation and the rage-filled eyes. "I have a very important task for you, William.""Yes, Father," William responded once again, his expression carefully blank. He had mastered the art of concealing his emotions, knowing well that his father sought to gauge his strength and weakness. However, he was confident that his true feelings would remain hidden from his father's scrutiny.Ever since Kristen's escape, William had worked diligently to suppress his emotions and refine his skills of deception. He harboured a deep love for Kristen and was determined to capture her, regardless of the cost. The thought of his father discovering his lingering affection for her sent a chill down his spine, as he knew his father would not hesitate to harm her. Such a fate he could not bear to imagine. Kristen had misunderstood him due to his bloodlust, and he yearned to show her his true feelings, hoping that she would eventually return to him. However, there was a nagging fear in William's heart—that Kristen might fall in love with his half-brother, Stanley. William knew that Stanley would stop at nothing to win her affection, especially since he was her true mate. Now that Kristen was in their presence, the mere thought of her being with Stanley filled William with anguish. He was determined to capture her as swiftly as possible, a sense of urgency consuming his thoughts. The king's eyes blazed with intense fury, resembling a raging fire. "These pathetic witches have once again failed to locate Fork's land, but I have devised a plan to lure Kristen," the king declared, locking his gaze onto Sophia with a wicked smile that sent shivers down her spine. Trembling in fear, she instinctively cowered behind the others."I will dispatch a group of witches to the human world, disguised as her friends, to entice Kristen within her dreams. If she discovers that her friends are vulnerable and in need of rescue, she will undoubtedly come to their aid. That will be our sole opportunity to capture her," the king proclaimed, his fist tightening in determination."William, you shall accompany them and apprehend Kristen, bringing her back to us. Can you fulfil this task?" the king inquired, his smile feigned. Anger welled up within William as he gazed at his father, but with a sense of pride, he replied, "Father, I never fail."With his anger seemingly appeased, the king rose from his throne and made his way towards the witches, accompanied by William, who stood with their heads bowed low in fear. As they neared the group, the king came to a halt in front of Sophia, a sinister smile gracing his lips. "This one," he declared, pointing directly at her. Sophia's terror escalated, her eyes brimming with tears as she trembled, clutching the sides of her skirt with excessive force. Her nails dug into her palm, drawing a bit of blood, but at this point, she hardly cared. All she desired was to escape the castle as swiftly as possible. Unfortunately, fate had different plans in store for her. Among all the witches, she had been chosen, and a sense of sorrow washed over her for both herself and the others who had been selected. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she subtly shook her head, causing her ash blonde hair to fall and obscure her face. The scent of Sophia's blood wafted towards William like a potent breeze. He involuntarily inhaled deeply, committing her scent to memory. Sophia, sensing a slight movement, caused by his reaction, on her part, watched as a wicked smile played across his lips. For some inexplicable reason, he felt a strange attraction to her blood, which oddly brought him a sense of satisfaction. Before he could approach her, his father chose another witch, diverting William's attention."This one." He said looking at a blonde next to Sophia and "this." He said pointing his finger at another witch. "You three will go with the prince. Remember If you fail you die." He said and chuckled like a demon."Mary, you know what to do." He said and the head witch nodded. "We shall return with Kristen, my king." The woman said without any fear. The sun was setting down and a soft breeze started to blow at the open hall where the witches gathered after the meeting with the King. Mary stood near a wide vessel filled with a black liquid. She started chanting while the other witches gathered around joining hands. The black liquid started to swirl in the middle of the vessel. Mary pulled out three photos from her pocket and placed them on the bowl. Those were the images of Emma, Lucy and Jacob. The liquid started to swirl wildly and covered each drowned the pics to the bottom of the vessel. Once Mary stopped chanting the liquid started to raise from the vessel and divided into three lines. Mary made Sophia, Oliva and Anna stand in front of the bowl and started chanting loudly.Sophia gulped loudly as she recognised the spell. Don't show your fear she told herself and kept her body from shaking.Mary was chanting a shape-shifting spell and only a powerful witch can cast such a spell and make it last for a week. Sophia and other witches her age can cast it as well but it will last only for a few minutes. Mary finished the spell and looked at the three girls and nodded her head, asking them to stretch their hands in front. The girls stretched their hands and the black liquid fell at the palm of their hands and started to gradually spread to their entire body. The girls hissed in pain as the hot liquid totally covered them and made it hard for them to breathe. Mary raised her palm and made a small cut, blood started to pool in her palms. She placed her hand on each girl's head and the black liquid started to evaporate from their body. Olivia turned into Emma, Sophia turned into Lucy and Anna turned into Jacob. Mary completed the spell and it can be broken only by her. "Remember this spell will last for two days but you have only one day to finish this task. I used the spell for three of you and the energy I spent is too much to pull it off for more days. I will send you now to the human world where Kristen's friends stay. You must watch them and observe their nature and should be able to replicate it when you meet Kristen. Meanwhile, I will invade Kristen's dream and show her that you are in danger. I will make her see that her friends are trying to communicate with her this will make her come looking for them. The first place she will go is her college so you must stay there and watch them. When she comes you must make sure that she avoids meeting her real friends if she did she will immediately find out that you are imposters. Also, you must know she holds far more superior powers than us and it won't take much time for her to figure out. You will have only a few minutes to distract her and take her to the forest behind her college where the prince will be waiting for her. Sophia you must use the trapping spell to hold her in place until William attacks her. One bite from him will keep her immobile for a few hours and will restrict her from using her powers. That time is enough for you to bring her back. Is that clear?" Mark asked looking at each one of them."Why can't we imprison her friends and threaten her? That is far easier than this." Anna asked. Mary glared at her and said "They are under the protection of Queen Irna and the protection spell she placed on them is unbreakable. If you try to approach them it will alert the Queen and your powers are no match to hers." A silence followed after her explanation. Frustration and fear engulfed Sophia making her body twitch involuntarily. She swallowed, inhaled and exhaled repeatedly as silently as she could. She didn't want any part in this mission but she had no choice either.Never. Show. Fear. She repeated inside her head.William walked inside the room moments later. Sophia took a peek at him and her jaw dropped. His look was changed entirely, his red eyes is green now and the clothes he wore were much more casual. He was wearing jeans and a loose white t-shirt with messy hair. It made him look like a carefree guy and perfectly gorgeous. He was possibly the most handsome man she had ever seen. She stared at him and tried to memorize every feature of his in her head. William was talking to Mary running through the plan and suddenly his eyes captured hers. She was frozen in spot and her eyes locked with his. At any normal time she would avoid looking at these blood-sucking creatures but this time it was different it was the prince she was staring at and she had no control over her emotions or body. She felt like she was drawn to his looks. A loud angry growl rumbled from him making him sound like a demon which made her snap out of her trance and look down. He looked at her like he wanted to devour her blood.William felt a foreign emotion when he looked at Sophia. He couldn't see her properly in the meeting and now she looked like one of Kristen's friends Lucy. When he looked at her she got scared and hid behind another witch. He ignored her and left the room.Mary let out a breath after the prince disappeared and made her way to the girls. "It's time." She said and chanted a spell to open the portal to the human land and the witches walked in unaware of what is going to happen next.
