Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 - The journey begins

Vicky returned professor's home after having that sweet moment with Jenny. They both liked each other. They both spent around 15 minutes outside Jenny's house but it felt like only a few seconds have passed and now they have to wait for another opportunity.

Well, first love or attraction is like this only, person wants to spend more and more time with his or her loved one, but destiny had some other plans for Vicky.

Vicky reached the professor's home and went inside, saw the professor packing some stuff for the journey.

"So what are these items," asked Vicky.

"These are the essentials we will need on our journey," replied professor Oak.

"These devices, what are these meant for," asked Vicky.

"These devices will help us in detecting paranormal activities around us more accurately, although from years of meditation I can sense spirits their aura defines whether they are good or bad," professor Oak replied.

"hmmm," Vick nodded in agreement.

"Before leaving for the journey I want to warn you, that a time will come when you will feel distracted and hopeless, but you should remember that nothing is permanent in this world, every situation, misery, or happiness will come and go. So learn to be neutral in your life," said the professor.

"Got it," Vicky replied.

"Now go and have some sleep," said the professor.

"Ok, professor, good night," said Vicky.

Vicky and the professor went to sleep, calling it a day. Vicky kept on thinking about Jenny and then slowly went to sleep. Again Vicky had some visuals about Jini, that girl who was recently found dead in a mysterious situation. Her face kept on appearing again and again in Vick's mind. Finally, Vicky got woke up because of the guilt he had in his mind. Vicky always holds himself responsible for her death.

Vicky knew he won't be sleeping until and unless he clears the score with the shadow creature. He wanted his revenge. So, Vicky got up from the bed and went to the hall, where he saw the professor sitting on the sofa in deep thinking.

"Professor, you are still awake," said Vicky.

"There are some incidents which turn your life upside down. People die but their memory stays. They die once but we die every time we think about them." said the professor.

Vicky heard the professor but didn't question whom he was talking about, he didn't wish to bother the professor.

"True that," said Vicky.

They both sat sofa for a few minutes and then fell to sleep. The clock hanging on the wall played a tune that awaken the professor. He looked at the wall and it was 5 in the morning.

He woke up Vicky as well, both got ready and began their journey. While they were on the way towards the mountain, Vicky opened the compass wishing mind to find the paranormal society of people. It indicated the mountains.

"We are right on track," said Vicky.

"Till we reach the mountains, your compass ain't gonna indicate anywhere else, so close it for now," said the professor.

"what! you know how it works," Vicky asked in shock.

"I am a professor for some reason," the professor winked toward Vicky while driving.

"So you love Jenny," asked the professor.

"Yes definitely, who might not love a woman like her, her charm, innocence, tenderness in her voice, I like everything," Vicky replied.

They kept on moving in the north direction through the raw patches of road.

Then they saw a stall of tea by the roadside, so they halted there to take a break. Both got out of the car and walked up to the stall and ordered tea.

Vicky was standing holding the cup of tea, looking at the deep forest inside the mountain said

"Once we reach there, I find the way to kill that shadow creature," said Vicky.

"But before that, we need to find those people," said the professor.

"Right," Vicky replied sipping his tea.

Then suddenly cloud thundered, indicating about change in weather.

"Weather near hilly areas changes frequently," said the man at a tea stall.

The professor and Vicky got inside the car and continued with their trip. After a few minutes, it started raining.

The rainfall was heavy, not letting them drive beyond the speed of 20 mph. After traveling for a few hours they finally reached a point from where the road started elevating. Vicky also saw the sign showing hilly area drive with caution.

"Now we are climbing up," said the professor.

While traveling on a narrow road, their way was blocked by a large tree fallen due to a thunderstorm.

They halted their car a few meters away from the tree.

"Well, challenges began from here," said the professor.

"From here, we have to go on foot, take out your belongings, and come," said the professor.

Vicky obeyed and they both followed the road.

The good thing was they didn't carry much luggage, So walking with it became a little easy.

After walking for a few miles, the road also ended.

It was 6 in the evening,

"We will walk for one more hour and then we will find a place to halt," said the professor.

They continued to walk deeper into the forest, soon it became dark everywhere, then they began to look for a place to camp.

"I will a camp over here and you gather some wood sticks to lit fire," said the professor.

Since it rained a few hours ago, So it was a challenge for Vicky to find dry sticks for the light fire.

After struggling for an hour, Vicky was able to find a handful of sticks to burn. He came back to the professor and said

"After a struggle, I was able to gather this many sticks only," said Vicky.

"enough for tonight," Professor replied.

The professor lighted the fire and both sat near it.

"We will begin our search tomorrow," said the professor.

Vicky opened his compass and looked for the direction, it showed northwest.

"And that would be the direction," said Vicky pointing towards the northwest.
