The next few hours were spent performing various tests, such as measuring punching strength, jump height, reflexes, decision-making skills, and more. As expected, each member of Styx excelled in at least three of these tests. After the physical and mental tests, the Styx members were taken to a special room to measure their psychic abilities. It was a vast space, with many objects and strange machines.
"Now, I know what those science wackjobs do to people to make'em psychic, and I know that Prodigies like you take a lot of pain and risks to make. So, what secret lab or cult or whatever made you? More importantly, do we need to worry about them?" General Blitgin asked them.
"They aren't something to worry about. We made sure to take care of them," said Nikolas, hatred coloring his features.
"…Alright then." General Blitgin pulled a small tablet out from his pocket, turning it on and tapping it a few times. "These tests are designed to find the limits of your telekinesis. We'll find a different way to measure your Prodigy abilities."
The Styx members spent another hour doing these tests. The first had them attempt to lift a metal block attached to two blocky poles by locking a protruding piece on the left and right sides into the hollow part of each pole, accessible by a slit that ran the length of each pole.
The block was designed to move up and down along the poles, but the poles had gears and bits in them designed to make the block difficult to move based on the strength applied. The result was every member lifting the block with their maximum TK strength, the rating and stats of which showed on the General's tablet.
None of the Styx members were able to lift the block to the top, except for Autumn. None of them were surprised by their results either, as they had tested themselves extensively to find their limits.
The next test used the same machine, only this time they were testing stamina, how long they could lift their maximum weight with their TK before they couldn't continue. Fate lasted about eight seconds before he had to drop the block.
Nikolas lasted ten seconds, Maya lasted eight and a half seconds, Tom lasted three minutes, and Autumn lasted a full two hours. The last test left the General slightly shaken. 'That lady's a monster,' he thought.
After that, the General tested how far they could throw things with their TK, how well they could lift multiple things at once, how small of an object they could lift, how strong their grip strength was, and how resilient their TK shields were. With that all cataloged, he asked each member what their ability was, and devised a few tests for each of them.
For Fate, he tested how long he could keep up his Prodigy power (which was revealed to be about a minute) and how long he had to wait before using it again (about six seconds). He also found that Fate would black out if he pushed his power for too long.
Autumn's test proceeded to spook the General even more, although he didn't show it on his face. Autumn punched through a solid Bulgar Steel wall with nothing but her bare hands and punching a machine meant to measure her strength showed that she punched with about nine thousand pounds of force. Similar to most Prodigies, she could keep this up for as long as she wanted, effectively never tiring.
Nikolas showed the General that there was no conceivable limit to how many people he could affect at once; the General had gathered about a hundred and fifty soldiers to test it out. General Blitgin had Nikolas refrain from using any horrific illusions, instead sticking to simple things like walls and weapons, to avoid lawsuits. Every illusion Nikolas made looked, felt, smelt, and sounded like the real deal to whoever was being manipulated. He could even make them feel pain from his illusions.
Maya also had no limit they could find on how many people she could influence. Testing on the same soldiers, she showed the General that she could make them feel any emotion at all, making them feel fear, joy, sadness, anxiety, anger, and many more. They did find, however, that the more people she influenced at a time, the less potent these emotions were.
She could make one person feel the most rage anyone had ever felt, or make a hundred people feel slightly miffed. She was much scarier when working in Tandem with Nikolas, with the two of them able to pull the strings on every part of a person, with few limitations.
Lastly, Tom proved to be capable of moving hundreds of things at once at the microscopic level. To demonstrate this, he cured an infection in a soldier's leg and even diagnosed cancer in another. He also ignited the air a few feet away from him, causing a small explosion and a gush of fire. While he could do much more besides this, there was little else he could show without severely harming the soldiers.
After all the tests, General Blitgin confirmed something he had heard time and time again but had never been able to prove: a single Prodigy was worth hundreds of soldiers. He could tell each member of Styx was more than capable of wiping out an entire company of troops by themselves, and Autumn and Tom were easily able to wipe out battalions within minutes.
Blitgin was glad the Shyv brought them over to their side. He had read the reports of how many rebels were in that bunker Fate and Autumn eradicated. He didn't want to face these monsters in the field like those unfortunate bastards had to.
Taking a deep breath, he said "Alright. Give me a day to assess this information, so I can determine the best missions to send each of you on. Dismissed."
With that, the Hand of Styx left the facility, presumably to head towards whatever hideout they live in. One of the soldiers helping with the tests muttered, "those guys are fucking scary." General Blitgin, a veteran of over a hundred battles, someone who had seen gruesome sights one could only find on a battlefield, had no choice but to agree.
