Jonathan and Evelyn spent the next day getting used to their new bodies. At first, they agreed to spar in the field, mainly because there was a lot of room and they didn't want to worry about damaging anything.
Of course, with their newfound bodies, they ended up scorching most of the field anyways. They began their spar by facing toward each other with about ten yards between them. Icarus, Hazel, and I watched from the sideline. Aros was upstairs, patrolling the second floor to let Silfang know about the twins.
To begin the fight, both of the twins charged at each other. Their newfound height and strength proved to be incredibly strong tools that increased their speed. However, even though they were both given the same type of monster body, Evelyn proved to be incredibly faster, though I wasn't able to tell if this was through her skill『 Flame Rush 』or because of the extra strength in her legs.
However, despite being able to reach Jonathan on his side of the battlefield, Jonathan was unstoppable. Evelyn slammed into Jonathan's body, but he managed to dig his heels into the ground and lean into her to provide more support.
A loud bang happened on the battlefield as the two twins crashed into each other, but neither of them fell over. Because of Evelyn's dash, she had more momentum than Jonathan did. Jonathan was pushed back a little bit, but his body was sturdy enough to keep a strong hold over Evelyn's strong momentum.
Two seconds later, once Jonathan had managed to get a good grip on Evelyn's arms, he quickly pulled her to the side and threw Evelyn to the ground. She landed on her back and rolled away from Jonathan, scorching the grass for a few seconds as she created distance between the two.
Jonathan moved forward, hoping to get to Evelyn before she had the chance to stand up. However, Evelyn was faster. She quickly jumped to her feet, then jumped back and brought her palm in front of her. Suddenly, a giant wave of fire erupted from her palm, but it wasn't targeted toward Jonathan.
Instead, two sections of the wave of fire erupted toward the ground and the ceiling, morphing into a large bow as the length of the bow grew. Then, in the next moment, Evelyn used her other hand to create an arrow, which she quickly knocked into her bow and drew back while aiming at Jonathan.
Then, she let the arrow loose. Unlike what I had expected, the arrow quickly grew in size, elongating by about a foot while growing in width by about three inches. Then, once the arrow left the bow, it quickly increased in speed, almost as if it was propelled from a small explosion, and sailed through the air toward Jonathan.
Jonathan quickly stopped and pulled his arm up to dodge the arrow. As the arrow slammed into his arm, he took a step back, surprised by the arrow's strength. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to protect him fully against the arrow, but it was enough to allow him to quickly charge forward once more.
Evelyn took a step back, surprised, as she attempted to knock another arrow, but Jonathan had already managed to reach her. He brought his hand up, creating a flaming sword in a similar way to how Evelyn created her bow. Though his flaming sword was long, it was about the same size as his old one when compared to his new body.
Then, with enough strength to crack a boulder in two, Jonathan struck against Evelyn as he brought his sword down from above. Evelyn brought her bow up to block it as she used both of her hands to stabilize her bow.
As Jonathan's sword met Evelyn's bow, an arc of flames escaped from their battle, destroying parts of the field around them as a thick blanket of smoke covered the fight. For a moment, I couldn't see what was going on. When the smoke dissipated, Jonathan was standing alone in the center of the field.
He held his sword against his body, angling it toward where Evelyn once stood. I noticed the flames on Jonathan's body were flickering with life as if expressing the adrenaline he felt. Evelyn stood a few yards away from him, her bow broken in two. Although Jonathan appeared to be winning, Evelyn wasn't ready to give up yet.
She quickly reformed her bow, jumping back in the process. She only needed a moment before the bow was reformed, so she was swiftly ready to attack. Jonathan rushed forward, but his speed was nothing compared to Evelyn's.
Evelyn let loose another arrow, allowing it to zip through the air like a falcon. Jonathan watched it sail through the air, though he wasn't intent on taking it with his arm once again. Instead, he brought his palm forward, swinging it away from the grass.
A giant wall of flames erupted from the ground, destroying more of the field, but allowing him to protect against Evelyn's arrow. However, she had already fired another two arrows in the process. One of them was blocked by the firewall, but the other had managed to make it through the flames.
Jonathan was taken by surprise, so he didn't have time to dodge it. The arrow's head slammed into his shoulder, slicing through with brutal ferocity. Jonathan's advancement was quickly halted as all of his momentum was swallowed by the arrow's power. His body was lurched back, his back facing the ground, as his legs were lifted into the air.
Jonathan crashed into the ground, his sword extinguished as he used both of his hands to pull the arrow from his shoulder. Evelyn used this chance, dashing forward. I watched her move, then noticed the form of her body disappearing for a moment. During that moment, Evelyn sailed through the air as a large fireball, destroying the grass below her.
Then, after she traveled a few yards, the fireball slowed down and morphed back into Evelyn's normal form. Evelyn didn't waste any time as she took her bow and knocked another arrow. Then, as Jonathan began to rise to the air, the arrow from his shoulder extracted, she fired once again.
Jonathan didn't bother creating a wall. Instead, he jumped to the side, dodging the arrow entirely. For a moment, the arrow seemed to curve toward his body, but the momentum was too strong to allow it to change direction in time. It slammed into the field, bringing up a big portion of dirt as Jonathan rushed forward.
Evelyn sent a few more arrows his way, but none managed to hit him. Jonathan was now getting more used to his body, showing a frightening speed as he shortened the distance between him and Evelyn.
However, Evelyn wasn't showing any signs of stress. Once Jonathan managed to reach her, she took a step back and focused on his attacks. He reconstructed his blade, the used it to launch a flurry of attacks in Evelyn's direction.
The two of them stood there for a moment, stuck in a close battle, but no progress was being made. Jonathan was strong and ferocious. Even one of his attacks had the potential to end the attack, but Evelyn was too fast. She moved her body like a snake, dodging every one of his attacks. After she reached a certain speed, the edges of her body began to loosen. Soon after, Evelyn began to dodge Jonathan's attacks by turning into a wave of fire that zoomed through the field.
Then, once she managed to gain enough speed, she moved away from him, turning into a red blur as she circled the field. Then, once she was far away enough, she quickly turned toward Jonathan and began to charge him. Her speed was fast, almost as fast as Hazel once she was flying but Jonathan seemed prepared.
He clutched his sword in his hand, then activated『 Flame Fury 』. Jonathan's body instantly grew three feet taller, then exploded. A hurricane of flames crawled over the battlefield, consuming everything in its path.
The ground trembled and the trees in the distance shook. Even the wind, which was usually calm, had begun to strengthen against my body.
Jonathan, who had turned into a large tornado, continued his attack. Evelyn was more concentrated, instead taking the form of a quickened fireball. Neither of them was showing any sort of sign of stopping the fight, which made both Hazel and I concerned. Even Icarus was beginning to grow concerned.
"They've gone too far," I muttered with anger. I stood up, then dashed forward.
"Arthur, stop!" Hazel yelled out to me. I ignored her, instead using『 Morph 』to transform into my dragon body. Once my transformation was complete, I immediately began to spread my wings, then jumped into the air. The flames of the battle quickly reached my body, but they were nothing more than a warm breeze against my scales.
I landed in the middle of the battlefield, then turned my attention toward both of the twins. I first stopped Evelyn, mainly because she would reach me first. I did so by bringing up my tail, then slamming the end of it against the fireball.
As soon as the blade of my tail landed against Evelyn, her original frame returned and she was flung into the air. Then, with no time to spare, I turned away from Evelyn and looked toward Jonathan. By now, he had managed to reach a size big enough to dwarf my dragon body, but I wasn't afraid. Flames weren't capable of hurting me, especially when they were thinned out like paper.
I quickly stood atop my bottom legs, angling my stomach toward Jonathan, then began to flap my wings like a fan. Jonathan's flames began to condense as they were pushed away from me, though they grew stronger.
I continued to use my wings to fan Jonathan into a smaller frame, waiting for Jonathan to reach a size close to my own. Then, after about ten seconds, the opportunity I was waiting for arrived. I stopped flapping my wings, then dropped back to all fours as I opened my mouth and let out a strong stream of fire. I used as much magic as I could, which allowed me to create a fire breath capable of destroying an entire forest.
The very size of my breath was enough to cover most of the dome in an instant, consuming my target with a hunger that I had never seen in my magic. The light alone was strong enough to rival the sun, so I suspected the heat was strong as well.
I wasn't concerned for any of my friends, as they all had flame immunity. Regardless of that fact, the entirety of the dome was destroyed. As I closed my mouth, the flames that had spread through the dome with a hunger grew weaker until they dissipated into the air. The dome around me was destroyed, blackened beyond repair.
The crystal walls and ceiling had broken, causing the light they brought to disappear. Although they broke, the dome wasn't dark. A forest of flame crawled across the entire dome and gave the dome a dark orange atmosphere. The ground was scorching and the walls were alight with flame. The only safe thing was the core, as it was immune to anything I was capable of.
It floated in the air, the pedestal having been destroyed along with the house. It acted like the moon on a dark night, though nothing around it was dark. I turned toward Evelyn and Icarus, who were still in the spot they were before. Both of them were fine, though Hazel's cloak was a bit scorched.
I turned back into my human form, then turned my gaze back to the battlefield.
