… Neat! Eodum appreciated the boost in levels as it woke from its deep slumber, though, it was expecting a little bit… More. Only seven levels was kinda underwhelming. Stingy ass system.

… Wait… Is that a new accomplishment?

[War Starter]

[Get a bonus to antagonizing others into large scale battles.]

Oh. That's… Not fantastic. Eodum was not excited with this. While it made starting fights easier, it also made starting fights easier. Eodum was real iffy with this accomplishment.

Pushing that aside, Eodum moved to its stats. As per always, Eodum invested twenty-five points into luck. Why? Because why not. At this point, Eodum was intelligent enough to know that luck wasn't the best stat to keep investing in. Something about it just made Eodum want to put points in. It wasn't like when Eodum felt the compulsion to get [Light Magic]; those thoughts were alien, these were its own.

While not the best purchase, Eodum was happy with it. Going onto the next few stats, Eodum placed twenty points into strength, fifteen into agility, and then ten into intelligence. With all of its Ap spent, Eodum moved onto skill evolutions. Which there were quite a few of.

First off, the most exciting of all, [Void Body]. This was Eodum's very first unique skill, the very thing that gave it its cutting edge. Literally in the case with its stinger. Before, it could only cloak itself in shadows, and now, it could incorporate unworldly energy as part of its body.

Internally smiling, it started to scan through the list of possible skill evolutions before it realized there were only a handful of skills to choose from: [Void Manipulation], a skill to manipulate the void outside of the body, [Void Link], a skill to make the user a portal into the void, and finally, Eodum could just opt to not evolve it, instead letting the skill increase in level. In the end, sometimes, new gimmicks aren't needed, you should just stick to the old ones and master them.

[Void Body's evolution has been canceled. Further leveling and improvement of current skill can be continued.]

Yep, sometimes what you have is the best. You don't need any more or any less.

Next off, this one just feels like the obvious decision.

[Stinger Proficiency has evolved into Stinger Mastery.]

A simple upgrade, easy choice… Also, it might've been the only choice, but that's besides the point. Next!

[Time Distorted Thoughts]

[The time the user's mind lives in is slowed in relation to reality.]

[Accelerated Thoughts II]

[An enhanced version of Accelerated Thoughts.]

[Electrically Hastened Mid]

[By using electricity created with magic and the user's aura, the mind can react and process things faster than normal. The electricity can also be used to make the limbs move faster.]

These were all great. On one hand, Eodum could live in a dilated version of the real world, having the gods know how long to think things over. On the other, [Accelerated Thoughts II] is just a better version of the original skill. Then, there's the other evolution with the mind utilizing electricity to be able to send signals between neurons faster. Eodum didn't actually know why electricity made the mind better, but to it, all that mattered was the effect, not the method.

[Accelerated Thoughts has evolved into Accelerated Thoughts II.]

That should finish up the skills' evolutions. Now, what to do with all this Sp? Eodum didn't really want new skills. It could use it on the skills to level them up, but that felt like a waste.

In the end, Eodum chose to hold onto its Sp. It might come in handy later if Eodum was in need of a skill. Yeah, this was the best choice.

The rat clawed its way out from the burrow, emerging into the body-littered zone of the forest. Monsters were everywhere. Not fighting, seeing the results of the last battle that took place. Most of the monsters were decently high in tier, so they must be the evolved versions of the monsters that had managed to escape.

Every monster was gorging itself on the corpses of the fallen, enjoying the fruits of the battle. However, when the monsters saw Eodum crawl from its small cave, they froze. Clearly, vividly, they remembered what this beast had done. With a single spell, it laid waste to the battlefield, killing the other top contender in the battle.

The monsters all cowered, humbling themselves in the face of this monster of monsters. Eodum could tell their thoughts, and it activated [True Fear] to further enhance the fear directed towards it. It strode past the other larger monsters, enjoying their trembling mass. One foolish panther-like beast broke the treeline, walking into the small clearing.

It spotted Eodum. It attacked. It died. Before it even knew what happened, Eodum's void-formed tail lashed out and cut through the beast, its sharpened edge and pointed tip covered in dark green blood.

The simple attack only reinforced the monsters' fear. Their fear towards the rising king.
