First things first, open a portal to the void. Second, absorb some void. Third, say hello to the void.
'Hello.'
'Hello, Eodum.' the void greeted in the same deep, androgynous, calm voice as in the past. There was something slightly different about it; something Eodum couldn't quite place a claw on. It felt the same, but not quite. An impossible difference that didn't quite add up in a way that Eodum's mind could comprehend.
Eodum would've asked, but with the finite limit of Eodum's already exhausted mind and the pressure added by the void, the rat didn't want to pass out in the middle of the battle. Something told it that that wasn't the smartest idea.
Snapping Eodum from its thoughts, the void spoke up, 'I assume you need my help?'
'Yes.' Eodum responded plainly.
With what could be interpreted as the mental equivalent of a nod, the two got to work on ripping apart the crowds of vicious monsters lunging for them.
A single swipe of a tendril crushed bones and sent bodies flying. The unprecedented strength that Eodum could feel flowing through its flesh was invigorating. Addicting. A falling tendril smashed the heads of many monsters in, cracking and fracturing pieces of the skull stabbing into the soft and squishy brain.
Though, the further Eodum went in, the less monsters were rushing at it. Those monsters were replaced by vines. Many, many vines with acid leaking from thorns into pierced skin, melting flesh, fat and muscle.
Before, it would be a mighty battle in that grapple between the ape and Eodum, but now? Now, when the tendrils and vines met, the vines were literally crushed. Sprays of acid shot out all over, splattering over Eodum's tentacles.
Ow. Okay, different approach.
Pulling away for now, Eodum reshaped its tentacles to be bladed all over. In addition, it casted many [Gravity Downs] all over. Eodum made sure to try and compress more power into it this time, so that the tentacle would at the very least have trouble moving. The best case scenario would be the vines failing to move at all, and instead, they would just hit the ground and become easy prey.
What actually happened like Eodum had anticipated was the vines struggling against the sudden weight. This was still quite good however as now, Eodum ran past them while cutting and stabbing them, severing the vines. Acid splashed from the open wounds, but Eodum was quick enough to pull away and not have to worry about it. Even when some got on it, the rat wasn't affected a lot; it was getting a higher [Acid Resistance].
While slaughtering the countless monsters going after it, Eodum felt nostalgic. This strength, this power, this unexpected boost. This was like when it was first reborn. In the shadows, it found strength unlike any it had experienced in its past life. The power to rip through its enemy with near zero resistance. A quick pounce from the shadows, and Eodum would come out on top with only a few attacks.
Now, here was Eodum, fighting in a place feared for its dangerous monsters, in the middle of a war between said monsters, smashing their heads in with the power of magic and [Void Body]. How far a simple rat has come, from the days of spreading plagues, to being reborn, to running havoc through cities.
Reminiscing would have to wait, however, because killing this ape came first.
After slicing through the many vines ripping through the air, the rat spotted the ape's main body. A body combined of the corpses and pieces of monsters, strung together and being puppeteered by the ape torso sticking out the top of the thing. Its eyes watched Eodum as the rat approached, the yellow color they had before being replaced by a bright cyan.
Eodum and the thing clashed, a sudden tangle of limbs, tentacles, and vines being knotted together, each biting at one another. Eodum's claws sent out huge white flashes of ending light that cut through the vines. The ape was taking damage, Eodum couldn't tell if it was a lot or a little, but vines and limbs hit the ground one after another.
The damage to the monster, however, was also hurting Eodum. Acid fell down in a mighty waterfall, dousing the rat in the vile fluid. It burned away at Eodum, its skin being ripped apart at a cellular level. It didn't help that a headache was throbbing in the back of Eodum's mind.
Eodum wasn't meant to fight for a prolonged amount of time, and doing such would only slow down the rat's momentum. Knowing this, Eodum dove straight at the creature. It tightened the security of itself by entwining and wrapping limbs together. The defense didn't matter, though, as this was just a feint.
Leaping into the fray, Eodum casted a spell. [Singularity]. It was part of [Gravity Magic], and once casted, it would spawn a black hole. It'd controlled by magic, so the user didn't have to worry about destroying the world. In addition, the blackhole would be significantly weaker than ones found in nature. However, if the user wasn't careful, they could easily end up killing themselves under the crushing force of the disaster they had just created.
Eodum didn't have the capacity to think about those consequences at the moment, however, as it was too busy trying to kill this ape.
The blackhole appeared above the monster's head. It felt something was wrong immediately, and it diverted all its vines into latching onto the ground, having the thorns dig deep into the blood and acid-soaked soil of the forest. Its struggle didn't last too long as Eodum saw this attempt at resistance and decided to sever all of its vines. Stingers-blade-things sliced through the air and the vines, and at a rapid pace, the ape was being lifted further into the air by the gravity of the blackhole. The ape eventually lost the capability to hold out against the pull and was crushed by the singularity.
