The rat, undead, lizardman, and fire spirit smiled, "so they're finally here." Eodum refocused its attention on the soldiers, "Understood, you may leave." At Eodum's permission, the two left and ran back down the halls. The four waited a little, and then left for the Baron's vault. They rushed down the halls, and went down sets of stairs. The four found themselves in front of a large metal door. The metal used was unknown, but it was clearly tough as hell. Not tough enough though.
Eodum walked up to the looming metal door, and started clawing away at. The darkness and shadows around Eodum swirled around Eodum, and the shadows were absorbed into Eodum's body. Eodum's claws shifted, grew, and sharpened. Now, Eodum was easily excavating through the door. Eodum sent down one final swipe of its claws, and the vault door gave way. Eodum looked back at its companions and signaled to come. The four crawled through the hole in the wall, and their prize was revealed.
In front of the four stood a large pile of money, artifacts, and valuables. One of the many things in this pile were the parts of Ksilisab: scales, fangs, eyes, meat, bones. Whatever they could get from Ksilisab was bound to be useful and valuable because it belonged to a Royal of Kraude. Eodum looked up at Henry, "I'll take the valuables, you take the perishables." A single nod from Henry was all it took for the two to set off for the mountain.
While Eodum could hold an infinite amount of items with no size restrictions, the void didn't prevent the spoiling of materials. Henry's [Storage] on the other hand stopped the flow of time for the items inside, but no living creatures could enter. In addition, there was an item limit to Henry's [Storage]. This was why Eodum was currently storing metals, artifacts, and money, so Henry didn't have to waste valuable storage space.
Not long after Eodum and Henry's raid began, the vault found itself completely empty. With the vault's treasures stored away, Eodum said, "Alright, let's move!" The four dashed and crawled from out of the small hole in the door, and Eodum sprung at the stone wall. Eodum started clawing away at it, and it crumbled away at Eodum's claws like sand. Eodum ripped through the ground, tunneling its way to the surface. A final swipe of Eodum's claws revealed the shining sun.
A beautiful, shining sun in a clear blue sky; only a few thin clouds floating in the sky. Then the most beautiful were the blazing fireballs being slung through the city streets. Wait… something isn't right here. Eodum, Henry, Sheila, and Delacs emerged from the tunnel to a warzone. The soldiers of each side were fighting valiantly, but Nomed's forces were getting their asses kicked. The soldiers from the enemy's side far outnumbered Nomed's forces, and they outpowered Nomed as well. This also meant that the Void Horse party had to split.
The four dove into an alley, keeping out of sight. Looks like they had to sneak out of the city. Creeping through the alleys with Eodum in front, Henry second, Sheila third, and Delacs fourth. Eodum led the charge using its supreme stealth to avoid detection, and its detection abilities to see the enemies before they could see them. Henry would've taken flight to the sky to get their eyes from the sky, but some wind mages were using [Flight], so that was no go. Instead, he just focused on keeping an eye on the sky to avoid detection from the mages overhead.
Delacs was a veteran army man, so he was a pro at avoiding detection from the enemy army. He was also quite perceptive, so he'd watch their backs. Sheila had an unusual control and mastery of aura. Normally, aura would be channeled and transformed by skills, but it could be manipulated by one's own power. Ever since she was a young girl in the slums, she always was able to feel and control her aura more than her peers.
She spread her aura throughout the streets, so she could use a kind of aura based radar. She'd spread her aura more to the sides because Delacs and Eodum were watching the front and back. Whenever someone would get too close, she'd give a heads up to the group to go the other way. The group also worked together to find the shortest path to the city walls. Eodum did a lot of work in helping the party wind their way to the walls as Eodum's [Pinpoint Precision] could see quite a distance.
As the party made their way to the city gate, Sheila detected something, "Stop! There's a person coming from the left!" The party started moving to the right, but then Sheila had another warning, "Wait, there's another person coming from the right!" The group started going backwards, wanting to go down a side alley behind them. Then, Delacs had his own warning, "We got two people behind us!" The group panicked and hurriedly brainstormed on what to do, but they ultimately came to a single decision. They had to fight.
The four prepared their weapons and waited. A step closer, then another, then another. Slowly, the soldiers came closer. It shouldn't be a very difficult fight; each of them are much stronger than your average soldier, however, they had to make it a silent fight. In addition, just because they were strong, didn't mean there weren't others who were stronger. The soldiers finally emerged into the alley, and the group moved swiftly.
Sheila blessed herself with [Holy Magic], and cut off the head of one of the soldiers behind the party. Delacs put a cloth with some mixture on it over one of the soldiers mouth, and the soldier quickly passed out. He then snapped the soldier's neck with ease. Henry flew over and stabbed a wooden dagger into the soldier's neck. He then manipulated the flames to cook the soldier from the inside. Eodum pounced at the soldier next to the now roasted piece of human, and cut the soldier into pieces with its claws.
An easy win. Then a soldier strolled up from behind, and screamed… fuck!
