It has been around 2 months since I declared Keit as my brother, and well, it has probably been the most fun I've had since I've come to this world, but he is still annoying! Of course?
And there the little brat comes.
"Hey! Averyyyy!"
He leapt onto me, pushing me over.
"Guess what!" He exclaimed happily.
I was rubbing my head, and before I could say anything he whipped out a fish!
I looked at it, and it did not seem completely fresh.
"Did..you steal it?"
I made my tone of voice sound worried, but I wasn't worried at all, in fact I was overjoyed to see this kid finally stealing something!
"Ah, well.."
Keit looked down quickly and was acting like a sad puppy that did the wrong thing, hah, I love this.
"Hey! Good job! I'm so proud of you"
He looked back up, and this time he looked like a happy puppy, literally.

Later that night, we enjoyed the fish that Keit stole, savouring every bite we had, near the reeds next to the river that had fireflies floating around.
It honestly had a romantic feel, if I was going on a date that is.
I looked up to see that Keit was done, as well as me.
"Thanks..I haven't had something like that in ages"
I leaned back as I saw Keit doing the same.
We thought of some funny jokes and soon we went back into town with a happy smile and stuffed belly.

I took Keit's hand and dragged him along to the alley we would fall asleep at.
I saw a comfortable spot near a scrap pile and once again dragged him to it.

The day came and I felt a small bundle of warmth next to me, and looked over my shoulder to see a cat.
It looked so adorable, and I started stroking it's fur.
It looked quite thin, it was probably a stray cat.
I had to take it in! Well, with me, I mean who wouldn't?
Keit soon woke up and looked sort of mesmerised at the adorable cat.
The cat soon woke up and sprang up on it's feet, disappearing from our sight, it was sad that I couldn't take him with us, but oh well.

Lunch time has come, but today we would not eat, as the town was bustling with many people.
Today was a special day that came once a month! Though we could not have fun because of our lack of money, there were donkeys and horses you could ride on for free!
Well not for free, just when knights were not looking you could hop on a horse and ride it to the end of town before getting caught and getting an earful, of course if we were not kids, we would probably be on death row, but anyways, enough of that!
"Hey Keit! Let's go on one of those horses over there!"
Keit had a concerned look as I said this.
"We are going to get an earful if we do that though, remember last time?"
"Yes, yes I do! I don't have memory loss or something! It's just that, only this time, we won't get caught, I'll make sure of it!"
"What is your plan.."
Keit said this with a quiet, yet worried tone.
"So! I think we should just steal one of the horses!"
"What! Are you out of your mind!?"
"No! I'm not! Well.. I.. Just hear me out! Of course it may be crazy but if we are fast enough we might be able to get out of this town!
"Wait, get out of this town!?"
Keit basically shouted this, and we had weird looks all around us.
"Yes, yes now be quiet! And don't give it away like that!"
"We will get in even more trouble if we are outside though! And there are monsters out there!"
"Those are just silly rumours! Now hurry!"
Of course they weren't rumours, it was real, in the novel this town was one of the towns that had the most monsters surrounding it.

The town of Olonia, in the novel the town was believed to have been cursed by a witch on the verge of dying, as her blood scattered everywhere surrounding the town, a few kilometres away, attracting monsters to it.
Nowadays, there should be camping, and safe
areas for people to relax in, as it it mostly a training area for nobles, but most commoners don't know this, so they usually don't go out or in to the forest.

We soon got close to the horses, and leapt onto one, I helped Keit get up, and then I whipped it with a stick I found lying around.
Off we went, and soon the knights realised.
"You there! Stop!"
We kept going and I quickly pointed the middle finger at them, that surely would have made them mad.
Oh how joyous this occasion is! I just flipped off a knight and now we are nearly at the town fence line!
I whipped the horse again and it went faster.
We made it through the fence!
The knights pulled back there horses, and shouted towards us.
"You kids will get killed! Turn back now!"
Of course I didn't listen and kept going, faster and faster along the path, until it stopped.
I didn't notice until now, that Keit had been hugging my waist tightly, but he let go as soon as I looked at him.
"We are out of that prison now!"
I exclaimed at the top of my lungs, but Keit didn't say anything, he almost seemed scared?
"What now..I mean, yes we are out, but we are only kids! How will we survive!"
He looked slightly angry, but more worried with a flustered look.
"Don't you worry, I know how to get out of the forest, and then soon we will be in a neighbouring town."
"How do you know! You have not been here before!"
He now looked angry, and I just smiled watching his little head go off, gosh I love teasing.
"Just trust me."
He was quiet after that, and we started galloping again.

Keit was asleep as I got off the horse near a safe spot, and gathered some twigs to start a fire.
"Wait, how do you start fires? Should this not be something I should have learned, as I am a poor brat on the streets, to keep myself warm?"
I abruptly said my thoughts out loud, and it woke Keit up.
"Avery? What are you doing?"
"Ah! Nothing, nothing"
He got up and came over to the twigs, and silently made sparks appear.
I was kind of shocked that he knew how to do this, wait why did he not ever light fires when it was cold, more importantly, when I was cold!
I glared at him unconsciously, and he got startled.
"Did I do something wrong? Sorry."
Keit had that worried look on his face that he usually had.
"No? Why?
"Ah, nothing"

We sat next to each other for more warmth near the fire and soon fell asleep.

I didn't know where I was, what was happening? Is that my mother? Is she crying?
"Don't cry, mother"
My thoughts sounded abnormally loud.
My head started to spin as I saw my mother being dragged away from me, now that I looked at it, was I in a hospital room?
Why? No I know. But I don't remember.
I blacked out.

I sprang up from my sleep, and hit someone's head.
A young boy's head? He is handsome, no wait, what? Handsome?
"That hurt."
He rubbed his head quickly, and someone, a guard!? Huh? What was happening?
The guard asked if he was okay in a very worried manner, and next I saw multiple horses!
Is this person a noble or something?!
"I saw you and that boy laying here without anyone to watch over, or guard you, not even parents, did you get separated from them, perhaps being robbed? If so, I could take you to your next destination, and have someone assigned to protect you until you find your parents?"
This noble was oddly kind, but I wanted to take advantage of that, and in an innocent angel voice I exclaimed,
"Sir! I was separated from my parents on a delivery service! And my brother Keit and I are starving! Would you please take us to our next destination as you offered, and maybe spare some food for us as well?"
I somehow formed tears while saying this, and I would say it looked convincing.
"Please help this young miss put on some of the clothes I had bought for my younger sister, and the boy can have my clothes for the time being."
Someone rushed over and woke Keit up, who was confused and in a split second he was already dressed, no that was over exaggerated, but oh well.
I was also dressed nicely and Keit soon came up to me.
"Avery, what is happening.. what did you do?"
"I honestly did nothing, it was that very nice boy who helped us, but I did tell him that We may or may not have lost our parents on delivering something, so he offered to give us a lift."
Keit opened his mouth really wide, and was about to say something before we were escorted into the carriage with the boy inside.
"Ah, hello again."
The boy spoke to us briefly on what would happen once we got to the other town.
"Thank you once again, kind sir for your generosity."
"Ah, we have not told each other our names yet have we? I am the son of the duke of the Royal capital, second to the king, Neil Penreth, what are your names?"
I shut my mouth tightly after hearing his name.
