Chapter 35 - The Assassination: Part 3

"Oh I am really sorry sir." Carter said lowering his head.

"It's okay you should go on your work now, do it more cautiously than ever. He is one of the biggest Mafias and also prepare the contract as soon as possible." Carlyx mouthed his words.

"Ah and in all this discussion, I forgot to ask you about some tea or coffee. Will you like to drink or eat something?" Carlyx continued his words with concerned expressions on his face.

"No I am good. Thank you. I shall get going, There is a lot of work to do now. I should continue it as soon as possible." Carter explained standing up from his place.

"Ok then I will be waiting for further information from your side." Carlyx said getting up.

Both of them shook their hands. Carter smiled and left for his work.

Soon his figure disappeared from Carlyx's sight.

"TIME SKIP"

"IN THE EVENING AT CARLYX'S MANSION"

"Ding Dong"

"Ding Dong"

The door bell rang.

Carlyx goes downstairs. He went near the display screen of camera to see who is ringing the bell.

"Steve...?" Carlyx said to himself.

He took his steps towards the main door to open it. He took his hands towards the door knob and turned it. The door opened and revealed Steve's figure.

"Hello boss." Steve said looking at Carlyx. He was still wearing a suit. It means he must have been on his work till now.

"Hi, Come in." Carlyx spoke showing him way inside the mansion.

They were walking towards the TV lounge.

"You still on work?" Carlyx asked.

"Yes sir I have an important news." Carter spoke in a low but audible voice.

In a few moments they entered the TV lounge.

"Sit please." Carlyx said while gesturing with his hands.

"Will you like to have some coffee or something else?" Carlyx asked politely.

"Coffee will be good." Steve said while taking a seat.

Carlyx moved swiftly towards the kitchen to make two cups of coffee. He started with the process.

While Steve was alone in the TV Lounge. Steve's phone rang.

Carlyx could hear the conversation as the kitchen was not that away from TV lounge.

"No there is no one home except him."

"Okay I won't tell him."

"I will inform you if I find about any thing."

He turned off the phone and put it back again in the pocket of his coat.

Steve was un aware that Carlyx was hearing all his conversation.

Carlyx was still in the kitchen. He put both cups of coffee in a small tray. He took that in his hands and moved towards the TV Lounge.

He entered the TV lounge and moved close to Steve. He took the tray in front of him and asked him to pick up one cup.

Steve took the cup and thanked.

"So what's that you wanted to tell me in person?" Carlyx said while taking a seat.

"I have contacted Freddie's manager. They have suggested the date for meeting two days later on Saturday. In a Casino. Which date and place should I final with them?" Steve queried.

"The date and place proposed by them is good, final it." Carlyx ordered and sipped his coffee.

He continued with his words.

"Prepare the cash by that day and don't forget to take the documents from Carter. I have already asked him to ready the papers."

"Okay, boss. I will contact and tell them." Steve replied.

"We should discuss about the main mission then. The plan how to end him." Carlyx smirked as he completed his words.

They debated over their clandestine plan. Carlyx has always proved that he is a mastermind. Steve's ears were totally alert. He consciously heard what his boss was saying. Because he knew that there is not at all a chance for a mistake. It was the beginning of such an important mission that even they risked their precious lives. And all of them were well aware of this fact.

Only the most trusted ones will know about the whole master plan. The one who were allowed to participate in the mission were the one who were truly committed to their job on the top they were bravest, because they had nothing to loose. All this time Carlyx observed the people working under him. Only a few were capable for taking part in this chaos.

This mission was just the prologue of the disaster that was awaiting Carlyx. He was going to unfold a new chapter of this life and a lot of concealed secrets were awaiting him on his way.

The discussion ended after a long time. It was past 12 by then.

"Assemble the team by Saturday and explain them all the plan personally. And keep one thing in your mind "No Traces" must be left." Carlyx declared in his cold voice.

"Okay boss." Steve announced in his raspy voice.

"Don't over work yourself and be cautious." Carlyx directed.

"I will be off from duty now. It's already late." Steve said as he stood up from the cozy couch that was placed in TV lounge.

"Ok then see you tomorrow." Carlyx spoke standing along.

Steve nodded and turned to leave the place.

Carlyx suddenly spoke some words that made Steve halt his steps in between the gigantic hall of the mansion.

"Remember Steve there is not a second chance for deceivers." Steve heard these words from behind.

Steve turned himself towards Carlyx and smiled gently. He understood that Carlyx has heard his conversation on phone.

"I will remember this." Steve replied in a low voice.

Carlyx nodded with cold expressions on his face.

Steve went near the main door and left the mansion. Carlyx was now all alone at his place like always.

He went upstairs and entered his bedroom. He plopped on the king size bed present in the large and most beautiful room of the mansion.

"Finally the patience of 10 years is going to come to an end." He thought to himself.

He was looking towards the ceiling. His mind was blank. The lights were dimmed in the room.

He suddenly remembered an old memory and smiled.

"I wish you could teach me basketball Felix." He said in an inaudible voice.

A tear rushed down from his eye.

"But don't worry I will teach them the lesson they could never even imagine in their nightmares." He said wiping off the only tear that was rolling down his flawless cheek.

Felix, was Carlyx's brother. He was a role model for Carlyx. Both of them cherished each other dearly. Felix used to play basketball when he was young. He wanted to become a professional athlete. A month before their father's death he was selected as a player of one of the famous basketball teams of Chicago. Carlyx wished to learn from his dear brother, but now he was no more in this world.

"I miss you Felix." He said and put on the duvet present on the bed folded.

Soon he drifted to sleep.
