Abigail's tears flowed freely as she watched Lucky plummet into the abyss. The sight of his diminishing figure tore at her heart, and she cried out in anguish when he finally disappeared from view.
"Lucky! LUCKY!" she screamed, her voice raw with despair. Her sobs echoed through the silent night, mingling with the whisper of the wind. She fell to her knees, clutching her chest as if trying to hold herself together.
"I'm so sorry," she wept. "I didn't mean any of those words I said. This was the only way to save you. If you have an afterlife, don't be so naive and gullible. Lucky, this is the best way. Just hate me and never come back."
Her cries filled the air, a lament for the man she had loved and betrayed. She knew he would never understand her actions, never grasp the depth of her sacrifice. Her heart ached with the weight of her deception, knowing that he died believing she hated him.
Suddenly, a chilling laugh pierced the air, sending a shiver down Abigail's spine. She recognized that cruel, mocking tone without turning around.
"Hahaha, look who we have here," the voice cackled. It was unmistakably Zara, her laughter like nails on a chalkboard.
Abigail's body tensed, and she wiped her tears with trembling hands. She slowly rose to her feet, turning to face the woman she despised. Zara stood there, her eyes gleaming with malice, a triumphant smirk playing on her lips.
"So, the mighty Abigail finally shows her true colors," Zara taunted. "All that sentimentality for nothing. You really thought you could save him by pushing him away? How pathetic."
Abigail's eyes blazed with anger and grief. "You don't understand anything, Zara. You've never known what it means to love someone enough to sacrifice everything for them."
Zara laughed again, a harsh, grating sound. "Love? What a joke. You played your part well, but in the end, it was all for nothing. Lucky Damon is dead, and your pitiful attempt to save him was just that—pitiful."
Abigail clenched her fists, struggling to control the torrent of emotions swirling within her. "You may have won this battle, but the war is far from over. Mark my words, Zara. One day, you'll pay for everything you've done."
Zara's smirk widened. "We'll see about that, dear. But for now, you're nothing but a broken, crying mess. And I couldn't be more delighted."
Soldiers dressed in black came rushing down, their footsteps pounding the ground like thunder. They gathered behind Zara, their spiritual arrows and swords at the ready, awaiting her command. The air was thick with tension, the moonlight casting eerie shadows over the scene.
"What a lovebird you are," Zara sneered, her voice dripping with malice. "You killed your love with your own bare hands. How cruel of you."
Abigail felt her heart clench at Zara's words, but she stood her ground, her eyes blazing with defiance.
"You've taken the law into your own hands," Zara continued, her tone now laced with anger. "Who gave you the permission to kill him? We haven't gotten what we want yet, and you just betrayed us. You don't deserve to live."
Abigail slowly rose to her feet, brushing the dirt from her clothes. She wiped away the remnants of her tears and squared her shoulders.
"You are in no position to question me," Abigail shot back, her voice cold and steady. "You are nothing but a dog who acts on commands. All that's left is to put a leash on you."
Zara's face twisted with fury, her eyes blazing with hatred. "I'm going to make your life a living hell, but not now. I will deal with you later," she hissed, signaling a few soldiers to step forward.
"Go down that cliff and bring that bastard's body back here, dead or alive. I don't care. I want him here; we've not settled our scores yet," Zara commanded, a wicked smile playing on her lips as she gestured for her soldiers to start moving.
When Abigail heard Zara's order, her body shook with anger. She marched forward, her steps echoing with determination, and stood firm before the cliff's edge. "Anyone who's going to go down this cliff today will have to pass through me first," she shouted, brandishing the dagger she had used on Lucky. The blade still shimmered with power, her blood coating its surface.
"Okay then, we'll see," Zara said, motioning for her soldiers to attack.
The soldiers rushed toward Abigail, swords raised, ready to slaughter. Abigail stood alert, watching them close in. In a flash, she moved in a zigzag pattern between them. Suddenly, with a series of swift, silent movements, she struck. The soldiers fell, blood spraying everywhere, their bodies collapsing in a grotesque dance of death.
Zara was stunned to see Abigail standing firm, unscathed. The speed and silence of Abigail's movements had been almost supernatural. "No one can leave here," Abigail growled softly, her voice carrying a deadly promise. She swayed the dagger, and it began to elongate, transforming into a formidable sword. With a swift motion, she slashed her palm, letting the blood drip onto the blade, imbuing it with even greater power.
Zara's eyes widened with a mix of fear and rage. "You dare to challenge me?" she hissed.
Abigail stood her ground, her eyes locked onto Zara's. "I will not let you defile his body," she said, her voice steady. "I've had enough of your cruelty. This ends now."
Zara snarled, her anger boiling over. "You'll regret those words," she spat
Abigail faced her bloody hand to the sky, a crimson flame erupting from her palm and shooting upwards. The energy spiraled into the heavens, creating a spiritual barrier between the cliff and the void beneath.
Zara fumed with anger, her eyes burning with frustration as she watched Abigail. Her movements had been so fast that they couldn't stop her. "Why is she still alive? THIS IS SO ANNOYING!" Zara screamed, her voice echoing off the cliff walls.
Abigail laughed, the sound cold and mocking. "Send them all, and I will finish them with just a blink of an eye. You don't know who you're dealing with."
Her eyes flicked to the side, catching sight of Zhian who had just arrived. "What a hilarious party tonight," she smirked, her smile wicked as she watched him approach.
Zhian stepped closer, his face a mix of concern and confusion. "Velverosa, as a member of the Black Dragon, do you know what you're doing? Do you know what will happen in the end?" he asked, his voice steady but filled with underlying tension.
Abigail's eyes gleamed with a dangerous light. "I know exactly what I'm doing, Zhian. I'm protecting what's left of my honor and avenging the pain inflicted on me. You think I'm scared of the Black Dragon's wrath? I've lived in shadows and deception for too long."
Zhian sighed, shaking his head slightly. "You've made powerful enemies, Velverosa. This path leads to nothing but destruction."
"Destruction is all I have left," Abigail retorted, her voice hardening. "If I must face it head-on to end this nightmare, so be it."
Zara, unable to contain her fury any longer, sent another dozen soldiers rushing towards Abigail. With swift, lethal precision, Abigail cut them down, blood splattering across the rocky ground, turning the cliff into a macabre slaughter field.
Zhian watched, his expression growing more serious. "Velverosa, this isn't just about you anymore. You're putting everything at risk."
"And what would you have me do?" Abigail snapped back, her sword dripping with blood. "Stand by and watch as more innocent lives are destroyed? I won't."
Zhian paused, his eyes meeting hers with a deep, penetrating gaze. "There's always another way."
"No," Abigail said firmly, her grip tightening on her sword. "There's no other way for me. This is the only path I can take."
"How dare you come to arrest my husband?" Abigail voice rang out, cold and furious as she advanced on Zhian.
"How dare you disobey Master Zuka's orders? You're asking for death, you girl." Zara said
"Disobey orders? As I said before, I'm not a dog like you who follows commands blindly," Abigail retorted, her voice steady and resolute. "Your immortal master commands you to do his bidding, but my existence proves that not everything will go as planned. I'm glad you came today so I can finally avenge those who suffered."
"NONSENSE!" Zara yelled, her face contorted with rage. "Zhian, kill her for me. The rest of you break this barrier and go find that guy down there!"
"YES!" the soldiers shouted, marching towards the cliff's edge.
"No one will leave here today," Abigail snarled. With a swift motion, she swung her sword, sending a barrage of sharp flame blades rushing toward Zara, Zhian, and the soldiers.
Zara and Zhian dodged the attack with agility, but several soldiers were struck, their bodies crumpling to the ground. Zhian rushed at Abigail, unleashing energy blasts from his sword, but she deftly evaded his strikes.
'Clank, clank, clank!' The sound of their swords clashing echoed across the cliff as they parried and attacked, neither willing to back down. Abigail struck hard, sending another wave of fiery blades toward Zhian. He managed to dodge, but the force of the attack pushed him back to his original position beside Zara.
Zara and Zhian locked eyes with Abigail, who stared back with unwavering determination. "The one who leaves this cliff must DIE!" she yelled, pointing her sword at them.
"Kill her, kill this traitor!" Zara screamed, her face twisted with fury. The soldiers charged at Abigail once more, unleashing a torrent of dark energy. Abigail dodged their attacks and countered with her own, sending the dark energy back at them. The force almost hit Zara, but she flew back just in time to avoid it.
Shock registered on Zara's face as she realized the extent of Abigail's power. "You all are losers! Get up and get her!" she commanded. Zhian and the soldiers advanced again, sending a barrage of dark energy from their swords.
Abigail managed to dodge most of the attacks, but Zhian's strike hit her hard, pushing her back into the barrier she had created. The barrier prevented her from falling off the cliff, bouncing her back into the fray. She landed firmly on her feet.
"Is this all you've got?" Abigail taunted, her eyes blazing with fierce determination.
Zara's expression was a mix of anger and frustration as she realized the full extent of Abigail's power. "You may be strong, but you will fall!" she yelled, her voice filled with venom.
Abigail's gaze remained steady, her grip on her sword. "Come at me then. Let's end this."
" Zhian, finish her for me" Zara ordered
