"Just to be clear, I was sent to this world, the world sensed me and to save me from dying due my body not having primordial energy I was sent to the warriors cradle, in which you sent my soul into a suitable body and gave me gifts as a welcome presents". Said arlon in a questioning tone.
"Yes" replied Val cheerfully.
"So what happened to my body" Arlon asked with a heavy tone.
Val said plainly "I already told you, this is but a will the real me isn't here".
Arlon felt bitter but he couldn't dwell too much on what he couldn't change. He quickly changed his tone to a happy one and asked: "what were on those scrolls you called gifts?"
Val explained "to help you live in this world I gave you 5 scrolls, since I didn't know where you would be reborn, I gave you one with alchemy knowledge across the world wich will be helpful wherever you were reborn, the second, third, and fourth had information pertaining to monsters, herbs and ores, and the last one had cultivation knowledge. These are all precious information that I personally collected so feel honored but these wilk only be available when you awaken your core next year when you're 12"
Arlon confusedly said "I'm 20 what do you mean when I'm 12"
Val laughed lightly and said "not in this body, you didn't notice because of all the meds you were given but your current body is 11 years old. Untill then you can only feel your core and not use it".
Arlon opend his eyes and examined his body, didn't notice since everything was smaller, the gown the bed all of it, he was a young kid.
"So you have awoken" a hoarse sound belonging to the healer resounded.
"Y-yes hello" Arlon replied in a flustered tone.
"Your injuries aren't life threatening you will be discharged tomorrow" the doctor said then he put on a look of sympathy and headed out.
A tall man with a muscular body and thick mustache entered the room, despite his rough appearance he had a look of sympathy in his eyes, he sad in a solemn tone "My name is Jim I'm the sherif in this district your dad.. "
As soon as Arlon heard those words he put two and two together and started his acting. Mister I don't remember what happened, where is my dad?". Said Arlon in a tearful way.
Hearing this Jim's expression sank, he approached Arlon and started consoling him.
-
A year had passed and Arlon had been living in district 29 with Jim, he fabricated a story about him and his dad working as traveling alchemists and used his knowledge given to him by Val to work at the healing center. Six months ago he awoken his core and looked the gifts given by Val these were all condensed knowledge, the accumulation of a lifetime of studies, only high ranking demons knew how to make them it's a mystery how Val got a hold of them.
"Now we add some extract to the mix while raising the heat". Arlon was brewing a potion that would help in absorbing primordial essence, even though he had the knowledge from the gift he still needed the actual experience to make what he knows. His hands were steady from all the practice he had to endure, and his eyes shined with anticipation and determination. But reality was often disappointing.
Arlon finished potion making and stood in silence, contemplating the process he just did before saying "Hard work can only go so far, I need better equipment".
"Sorry for having sub-par equipment, this is a healing center not a an alchemy lab" said the healer mike in a sarcastic tone
"Uncle mike how long we're you standing there" Arlon said with a flustered face
"I told you before once you start alchemy you can get stabbed without noticing. Here take your pills and go home it will be dark soon." mike replied while examining the potion. "Even though you complained this potion is quite good by my standards, you can be classified as a master rank alchemist because you made a full fledged potion just from the low quality herbs around here".
Arlon felt better hearing and looked up to mike smiling and said "you can have this excellent potion for just 20 credits".
Mike laughed lightly and said "would you like to take it from the money for renting my equipment or your medicine bill".
While Arlon and Mike chatted merrily Jim was having a different kind of chat.
"Do you know why I like pigeons? It's because you feed them and shelter them and they will forever remember your place as theire home." Said will while staring at the sunset with a smile.
Jim gave a solemn look and said "if a pigeon was raised by a vulture as food it's still a pigeon and it can still fly with other pigeons"
"I would have to make sure of that, and if I find a pigeon trying to become a vulture I would be forced to act" will said solemnly without a hint of his previous smile.
Jim felt surprised for will rarely made a face with no smile but he still gave a nod and said "I already told him that we're expecting a guest".
Meanwhile Arlon was working out without a care. His first exercise was a 20km run from the healing center in the middle of town to the edge of town then to the other edge and then a few laps around the district. Next he enterd the guards center that was next to the healing center.
