It's been two weeks since the incident.
Thankfully she returned the following day in order to confront Bitch, stubbornly refusing to back down and surprisingly enough offered a hand in friendship. Of course, this confused the hell out of the dog cape, which in turn greatly amused Raven and the others.
Taylor then went on to befriend the rest of the Undersiders with relative ease, Lisa obviously being the closest to her. Raven didn't speak much to the girl outside of giving some pointers in hand-to-hand combat, though she did feel a small amount of respect for the girl.
Challenging a powerhouse such as Lung with bug powers of all things yet still somehow managing to come out on top…. nothing short of amazing.
However, one huge downside of her joining that Raven immediately noticed was that Lisa became even more insufferable than ever before. Forcing all the female members, minus Bitch, to hang out more frequently, refusing to take no for an answer. Dragging them way out of their comfort zones to places they would normally never dare to go, places like the mall where Lisa forced them to try out dozens of revealing outfits…. or that disastrous time where they went sunbathing at the beach.
To make long story short Raven broke a guy's arm.
Apparently, Raven's bountiful chest was just to tantalizing for that disgusting perve to ignore, so having no shame whatsoever he walked straight up to her making a grabbing motion for them, Raven unamused reacted swiftly and snapped the offending appendage in a rather brutal manner. To make matters worse this happened in a crowded area right in front of a cop. Fortunately, Lisa was easily able to persuade the police officer into letting her off with a verbal warning, seeing as Raven was an underage girl about to be sexually assaulted by a middle-aged man.
Needless to say, they won't be going back to the beach anytime soon.
Gathering in the living room the Undersiders were busy discussing their next hit.
"We are going to cement our legacy as professional thieves in the annul of history…. by robbing Bay Central Bank!"
Lisa declared proudly.
Taylor gasped in horror while everyone else was stunned for an entirely different reason.
Raven's mouth twitched.
"…..are you high?" Raven said sarcastically, giving Lisa a deadpan expression and turning to Brain for support.
"Not this shit again Lisa!"
Brain groaned out, rubbing his temples in frustration.
"As I told you a thousand times before robbing a bank is a stupid idea! The average Bank haul is around 20 grand, considering this is Brocton fucking Bay lower that to 16 grand, divide it between the six of us means we each walk away with just above 2 grand. It's a high-risk low reward kind of job, so-."
"-our sponsor is willing to pay us five grand each!"
Lisa interjected, making him pause and Raven scowl.
"What's his angle?"
Lisa answered the question.
"There are two reasons for doing this job. First is that he doesn't want to fund a bunch of nobodies. This is a test where we either succeed in robbing the bank and make a name for ourselves…. or we fail and end up in jail. The second reason is to act as a distraction. On Thursday afternoon the Protectorate will be busy with an event just outside of town and the Wards stuck in school, meaning at most only two of them will be able to slip out without raising any flags. We shouldn't have to worry about New Wave either because of jurisdiction issues…. so we have nothing to fear. There's always a small chance of a rouge hero interfering with the heist, but I know our team can handle it. The commotion we cause leaves our sponsor room to enact whatever dastardly plan he's cooked up relatively unopposed. As compensation, we get 5 grand each on top of keeping whatever loot we liberate, along with providing us with free getaway cars and any other equipment we may require for the job."
"Come on guys we have to do it! This will give our rep a much-needed boost!"
Alec reasoned, grabbing a slice of pizza and throwing a puzzled look at Raven.
"Besides, what are you so worked up about Raven. With how powerful you are none of those losers stand a fighting chance. Even if worst comes to worst you can simply conjure up a portal and warp out of there."
"We beat them. Take the money, simple." Bitch spoke up in agreement.
"…H-How about not hurting them if possible" Taylor squeaked, shifting nervously under bitch's glare. "Just grab the cash and flee."
Lisa shook her head.
"Our goal is not to kill or harm people, especially the civilians…. but to avoid a fight entirely is virtually impossible. This bank has the latest security system up to date and it will take time to crack it. In that time window, a Ward or two is bound to show up and they won't exactly let us go if we ask nicely."
Raven stared blankly at them for a moment.
"….I don't really care if we do it or not. It's your call Brian…. but remember that once we do this the kiddy gloves come off. The heroes will stop pulling their punches and I will respond in kind…there's also the fact that whatever weird shit our mysterious benefactor is up to might come back to bite us in the ass."
Brian rubbed his chin in consideration
"….let's go rob us a bank."
Day of the heist
"We are entering through the back exit right now…are you sure you want to do this alone Shinobu?"
Brian voiced his concern over the earpiece.
"I can handle a few snot-nosed brats"
Raven stated brimming with confidence.
Currently, she was sitting on the rooftop of a nearby building, wearing a white ceramic facemask of a bird. The rest of her costume is a modified version of Marada Uchiha's armor, along with a beautifully crafted katana sheathed at her side… not that she planned on using it on the Wards, but it's best to be prepared for anything.
"Proceed with the mission."
Transforming into a bird Raven flew up and landed in a tree near the bank's main entrance.
The plan they came up with was simple.
While the rest of the team focused on breaking into the vaults Raven would stand guard at the front entrance, stalling the Wards until her team squeezed every last penny from this place. Of course, there's a chance some might sneak around through the back entrance, but her teammates told her to not worry about them.
Once her teammates are finished with their part, they would catch a ride on Bitch's dog to a getaway car parked two blocks down from here while Raven would either fly or teleport to them. Raven hated how limited her semblance truly was, only capable of creating a portal to people she's emotionally attached to which really sucked.
"VILLAINS!" "HELP!" "AAHHHHHHHH!"
Dozens of people came scrambling out of the building screaming in terror.
Staring down at the ensuing chaos Raven grimaced
'With the noise they're making one would think an Endbringer was attacking.'
Maybe it was the bandit in her talking, but Raven had a hard time sympathizing with those weaklings.
Watching carefully Raven noted that the moment the police arrived they immediately started to form a barricade around the premises, setting up roadblocks yet none attempted to approach the bank, meaning they were fully aware of cape involvement in this robbery and are currently waiting for the heroes.
Raven shuddered in disgust as a massive swarm of insects came crawling/flying in from every direction within a mile radius into the bank.
'At least she didn't chicken out on us….'
Raven commented mentally.
A few minutes passed until the curious onlookers outside the barriers started cheering wildly, a cape in a white costume came zooming out of the sky.
A bubble of adrenaline filled Raven recognizing the cape as Glory Girl. Flying up in the air to intercept the cape in question Raven transformed back into a human in midair, grabbing a hold of the stunned heroine's legs and flinging her down with a massive amount of force.
"WH-"
"BOOOM!"
The impact of Glory Girl's body smashing into the ground creating a small crater.
The cheers instantly died.
"OH MY GOSH!" "WHAT HAPPENED!" "IS GLORY GIRL ALRIGHT!" "WHO'S THAT MASKED VILLAIN?!"
Tsking in annoyance Raven landed safely on the ground.
"Glory Girl is here…. along with the whole damn Wards!"
Raven stated over the communicator.
Observing the young heroes exiting an unmarked van.
Inside the bank.
"WHAT!" "Glory Girl!" "All the Wards!" "Shinobu, we're coming!"
Amy Dallon, otherwise known as the hero Panacea smirked with vindictive pleasure, enjoying the fact that the previously cocky villains were now freaking out. The other hostages cried tears of joy hearing this news, believing they were now saved.
Tattletale frowned as her powers read Taylor's body language, it exuded signs of a guilty conscience, indicating that she is partially to blame for this.
"…I'll go help her! You gu-" Taylor was cut off.
"No! Secure the money and escape the way you came in. I'll hold them off for a couple of minutes before teleporting to you guys!"
Raven commanded ending the communication
"….Is she serious!" Taylor questioned incredulously
Bitch nodded her head.
"Shinobu strong. Can beat them. Let's go."
Bitch whistled for the dogs to heel and climbed on top of one. Alec and Brian wasted no time in making sure the stolen goods were securely strapped to both dogs' saddles before climbing on, "Get your asses on the dog right now! Shinobu's buying us time to escape!" Brain called out from on top of the dog. Tattletale obeyed his order and quickly climbed up while Taylor hesitated.
"We ca-"
"Get on the fucking dog!" Tattletale shouted angrily, giving Taylor a scrutinizing glare. "If Shinobu believes she can handle them then I trust her…." Lisa choked out, trying to keep her voice steady.
Taylor cringed guiltily at the hidden jab.
'….I fucked up.'
