Over the days, the trio relaxed in the demon realm. Before settling they had been on a constant move without a single break from the elven realm to the human realm and then to the gnomes' ruins and now they were actually taking a break Dina couldn't help but sigh in relief.
They were in a medium-sized cottage, in a small fenced area of land deep within a gigantic forest that seemed to never end and was filled with a few docile beasts, which was strange until Dina learned that this was actually where Genad's dad had stayed before and he might have killed a bit too many beasts which explained the forest's scantiness.
In their backyard was a small farmland that contained lots of vegetables and fruits, all of which were relatively new to Dina.
Out of all the weird veggies, the one she immediately spotted was the yellow comb-like vegetable that hung freely on the greenish stalk. However, unlike the corn which Dina knew back home, it had only the color purple and pink and when eaten raw had a strange yet sweet milky taste to it.
It was like normal corn except that it tasted like it had been naturally dipped in milk and cooked. That’s right, one didn’t need to roast or boil it as it already was edible from its stalk.
Dina still cooked it anyways and was baffled by the burst of flavors that exploded in her mouth when she did, if the natural form was edible then cooking it would be to make it even more sumptuous!
However, on roasting it didn’t have the same mind-bending flavors but was crunchy yet crispy, like a strange slash between popcorn and crisps, and was very chewy in an oddly addicting way. Before Dina knew it she already had some of it in her mouth, crunching on some crunchy pop-crisps as she went.
The remaining veggies were rather strange to Dina and although they were some who looked similar to a few on Earth their taste was either immensely different or completely different. Like the juicy red tomato she had bit into ended up tasting like a salted gooey apple, it didn’t have the crunchiness of an apple but still had its taste. Dina found it quite disgusting.
The plantain she had bitten into tasted sugary as usual but with a twist, unlike the usual teeth-rotting sweetness, it was sweet but with a certain spiciness that turned Dina into a puddle of tears after a few bites.
Next, were the peppers which were spicy, to Dina’s relief, but had a strange minty feel to them but were still spicy so had a pass from Dina.
The broccoli was green in color and tasted…. absolutely the same, it seemed like someone didn’t want to change its heritage no matter what.
Next was the lettuce which tasted normal but was tiny and curved into a shape of a rose making Dina nearly miss it. The cucumber however was so bitter Dina nearly vomited, just why?! Why did it taste like a bitter leaf?!
The rest were relatively normal except for their strange look and sizes. Supposed tiny veggies on earth were huge like the mushroom that was nearly the size of a shrub and could carry Paws as he leaped up and down on it like it was a trampoline; then some supposedly large ones were small instead like the pumpkin, cabbage, and bell peppers, and some other strange ones Dina couldn’t recognize.
Lastly, were the excessively huge ones that were just too damn big.
The watermelon was yellow instead of red and was so large that it nearly covered Dina as a whole, followed by the sweet potatoes and yam that looked larger than all of her limbs combined and the red-colored orange that was so sweet Dina felt she could puke. It was large, almost the size of a watermelon and Dina could barely finish the damn thing due to its excessive fruity sweetness.
The only normal vegetables with no difference whatsoever were the okra and onion which were just right with their normal color, size, and taste; it seemed that just like the broccoli the two refused to admit defeat.
There were other grains, spices, cereals, etc. that filled the farmland, ones Dina knew, ones she didn’t, and after a whole lot of scavenging, she picked up some veggies and went straight to the kitchen with Paws.
The kitchen was relatively simple, a tinier version of the cottage packed with cooking and eating utensils and various strange tools which were probably for cooking that Dina couldn’t make sense of. After a whole hour of buttering up with Zero and making a few deadly experiments, Dina finally got a hang of the cooker at least, and after a moment of button smashing a fiery magical circle was drawn on the metallic cuboid and Dina watched in awe as a brilliant flame erupted from its top.
She couldn't help but brighten up, she had almost given up to go with the normal method she had used to roast the corn. Good thing she didn't! This was way easier than a handmade fire.
“But it's too much, it’d be nice if it’s smaller,” Dina exclaimed and the next instant was stunned by the sudden reduction of the flame.
After a few seconds of playing around, it was concluded that the cooker was voice-controlled, then did that mean the other utensils were?!
Thinking about how amazing it’d be cooking while everything she needed simply levitated to her, Dina felt an excitement like no other!
“Hey spoon, come here!” she exclaimed, voice filled with unbridled confidence which was soon squashed when nothing happened.
It took a mere derisive glance from Paws who was back with the washed veggies to make the frolicking idiot get herself. After getting everything ready, the water, the utensils, the ingredients, and her tiny cat assistant, Dina instantly began cooking!
Soon, the wonderful smell of a well-cooked homely meal filled the surroundings and that was the scene Genad walked up to; an apron-clad Feral and Paws stuffing a plate of veggie meal into their mouths.
Genad: ….
He had left to gather information on the recent happenings and found out that the lord of angels had descended to investigate the recent collapse of the gnome ruins along with the other kings.
According to Genad’s informant, it seemed that he’d be away from the heavens for a while meddling with the lower realm matters which would give them enough time to strike. There was no rush, the lord probably would never have imagined anyone messing with the heavens and would take his sweet time in the lower realm giving them every opportunity they needed.
He had plans for both Feral and Paws but before that, he needed to do his investigations first so he decided to let the duo familiarize themselves in the new environment. What he could have never predicted though was how familiar they became, even to the extent of cooking meals.
It was really… interesting.

A/N:
Important! Read, or you'll miss out on something needful!! READDDDDDDD MEEEEEE (ಠ_ಠ)
Long time no see guys, just wanted to let you know that these chapters are for last week (sorry for stocking them up); yeah, LAST WEEK, things happened (exams happened) and I had no choice; QAQ.
I still intend on keeping my 4 chapters a week promise so don't worry. As you all can see, W2 might take a bit longer than expected ( ̄ε ̄), but I'll try my best to shorten this by increasing my word-page count. After all, I also wanna see our next ML! The flavor of quick transmigration is the different worlds in them so why delay so much in one world? Hmph! I'm also not willing ٩(๑`^´๑)۶.
As for why am this late, my exams started and man was I torn apart by stress, I nearly fell sick but I've been better. BTW, shout-out to all July babies, hope ya'all are having a great month! Am a July baby too although my BD had long passed... haha *nervous laughter* (;´∀`).
Anyways, I've been up to interesting things these past weeks that I think you guys might be wanna know.
The first being that I started a new romance novel on Goodnovel named 'Mated to a Vampire'. Still new and I haven't heard the chance to update since I was busy af... anyways if you love romance and wanna support this little author do check it out, please.
The second important thing is that I created a new FB page guys, where you'll be seeing interesting book fun activities like fan arts, writing challenges, swap reviews, and the rest. Overall if you're interested in connecting with other WN fans then do check it out, link is in the comment section!
And lastly, I picked up some glorious BL novels, yes, absolutely amazing!
The first one is- 'Am already dead'; it's so freaking amazing! Tired of the 'beautiful' illustrations of BLs? Want something more realistic, down-to-earth, and straight-up gross (not really)? Then check this out! Not for the faint-hearted though, and if you want your ukes drop-dead gorgeous and 'perfect' then you might wanna skip this lol.
The second one is pure abuse and I actually had to take a break with just how much torment the author gave my poor soul. Be warned, the angst is very hardcore, so if you're weak hearted then don't even bother. However, if you love seeing scum gongs suffer abuse then this is so for you. Its name is- 'Strategy to capture that scum gong'.
And the last one is the 'Heroic death system'. It's light and although there's angst, it's not that much (or I've already been hardened by the abuse of the second novel's author lol). If you want a typical light-hearted QT with a bit more normal protag and ML then this is for you!
Guys, don't hesitate to give these novels a try! Especially the first one, and maybe the second (if you enjoy suffering lol) but overall they're all great!
Comment if you've read any of this and yeah, about that, could you guys be less cruel and at least try to warm my lonely heart with more comments? Even emojis are fine but at least give me something guys! Come on! (╥﹏╥)
Well, see ya, and do keep sending those ninja-cutting onion masters by not commenting (I'm being sarcastic (_ε_), so please comment QAQ). Bye, bye ヾ(^ ∇ ^).
