Chapter 88 - W2 (22)

Dina’s eyes bulged in shock at the items that filled the room. Weapons of various sizes, forms, and types, and even without counting she could guess that they were up to fifty of them! And the best part? They all seemed to be in the legendary grade!

Weapons in the Styr nation were divided into 5 grades—normal, noble, mythical, legendary, and spirit. Weapons on the spirit grade were weapons of old, great items used by the ancients and filled with immense power, its power was so great that it was said to have taken a living form over time.

It was rumored that if one was able to get their hands on a single one, dominating over the entire nation of Styr was more than possible. Beneath these great weapons were the legendary ones and although not as powerful, to be directly below the spirit grade one could guess just how great their potential was.

And up to fifty of them were uselessly piled up here slowly rotting away!

“So many! I wonder which to choose~” Feral gushed in excitement as he rampaged through the piles of weapons.

Every single item there was desirable and with Zero being able to tell their functions it was so much easier for Dina to make a choice… or so she thought.

‘Damn! They’re all so good what the heck?! How am I supposed to choose when all of ‘em are so amazing?! Zero help, is there a particular recommendation you can give?’

“I’ll advice you to pick a weapon you’re familiar with on Earth at the very least so it'll be easier to master with the basics on hand,” Zero suggested.

“That makes sense, after all with how fast we’re progressing things will start getting dangerous, and wasting any time could be dire to my mission!”

After considering it for a long time, Dina picked up a bow and arrow.

A very pretty thing that had one of the most beautiful curves Dina had seen along with a certain mystic aura to it that made one naturally drawn toward it.

It was a lovely golden color with crimson vine designs wound around it, its bowstring was tight and strong, and Dina could feel it bursting with power without even using it already. Such a lovely item, even without Zero’s aid she could tell that it was at least a Noble type. How lucky!

Did that mean, all these items could be hers?

But Dina knew it wasn’t that simple, for an item to be worth acknowledging by the transmigration system it had to possess the ability to blend in along with a transmigrator. This was on the premise that the transmigrator and all they possess are strangers and possible threats to a world and so to be able to successfully complete a mission without causing chaos stealth was an important factor.

The transmigrator was covered by the bureau but they were not allowed to create issues themselves by bringing in other externals like items, and the rest. This was why not all items no matter how powerful could be used by a transmigrator, an item must possess stealth, and naturally blend into every world to be truly accepted by the system.

As stealth was a required factor, this made the possession of items rare.

‘How lucky am I to find an item and a noble type for that matter!’ Dina felt like dancing with joy; something so rare, she had gotten up to three even as a beginner!

Feral picked up the bow and from the intricately made quiver filled with arrows, she took one and placing it on the bowstring, stretched it farther and with a strong pull shot…. only for the arrow to flip out of her hand mid-action.

“?”

Feral muttered in confusion wondering if he had made a mistake as he bent over to pick up the arrow and tried shooting once more only for the same thing to happen causing his eyes to widen in horror! It couldn’t be… was he being rejected right now?! But why by the arrow and not the bow?

'No way!' Dina thought while trying again a million more times before finally giving up; she really had been rejected.

"Damn it!!"

Either way, she couldn’t use the item if she was being rejected. A bow and arrow was a twin-like item that had to match to actually work which was why it was sometimes a pain in the ass and now that she was being rejected by one there was no way in hell she could use the other!

“Dammnit! Is it fun to play with someone like this?!” Feral yelled in rage as he flung the item back into the pile. Just how could he be rejected?

In fact, when it got to weapons, elves were known for having a high affinity with arrows and bows and that was one of the reasons Dina chose them... then why was she being rejected?

T/N: From here on artefacts are related to transmigration while items are others.

“Fuck… and I can’t really sense any other artifact! Why is life so unfair?!” Dina yelled internally.

After minutes of grieving and sorrowing, she finally gave up and decided to choose any item even if she couldn’t take it with her permanently.

There were only two bows and arrows in the piles of weapons, the rest were various types of knives, swords, daggers, spears, and lots more, and Dina honestly felt tempted to take any other weapon on seeing the blandness and grade of the other bow and arrow.

Out of all the legendary grade items it was a normal grade. Even if it did possess the capabilities of being an artifact what could one do with such a low-grade item? It was even lower than a normal artifact based on the fact that weapon standards for transmigration were higher.

Glaring once more at the dark blue bow in her hands and arrows, Feral could only sigh.

‘Hah… not like I have a choice; at least it accepted me. Maybe I should pick more weapons?’

However, as soon as the thought crossed his mind, the entire room started quivering heavily, nearly throwing Feral off balance as his entire body trembled and stumbled about in an attempt to keep balance.

The next second, it stopped. Feral blinked three times before instantly calling out to Paws-

“Paws! Where are you…? Oh good, you’re fine!" he sighed in relief only to see the tiny pendant hanging around the kitty's neck, "Aw, did you also pick an item-ahhhh?!!!!!”

The ground beneath Feral caved in and down they fell, both man and cat, into a suffocating dark space, and the next minute they were once again on the frontage of the tiny house.

Feral blinked rapidly as he stared around him in awe when something drastic clicked on his mind and his face turned pale.

“W-we’re only allowed to choose one weapon?!”

Paws nodded vigorously indicating that his assumptions were right to his very dismay. Looking down at the useless item in his hands which seemed to viciously remind him of his horrible choices Feral broke down into tears with a heart-breaking haul.
