Chapter 78 - W2 (12)

“WOOAH!! It’s so large and there’re so many people!!”

Feral yelled in excitement as his blue orbs glimmered with a trace of purple within making Genad frown slightly.

Just how powerful was the royal’s blood within him that even in transformation his eyes still bled an indisputable crimson?

“Look at this Genad! It’s a pamphlet explaining the symbols of romance for the festival! It’ll be good to memorize this in case we get a box from the cupids!” Feral gushed as he bought the pamphlet before running up to Genad.

They were right on time in the heat of the festival and within the heart of the event, the marketplace where the entire thing took place. It was filled up with people of all various backgrounds both Nobles and Commoners but all were human adults as it was prohibited to bring out kids for such an event filled with sensual actions to avoid tainting them.

‘Coupling’ was a special festival among the human race that happened during the last second day of every year, and at the last season of the year- Mana coupling.

In the human race, seasons were divided into five with each signifying the force of mana which ranged from mild to wild with the mildest being the Spring of Mana and the wildest being the season of Mana coupling.

The five seasons include the Spring of Mana which was the mildest followed by the Blaze of Mana—when the energy levels of mana in the human race start picking up, the Fall of Mana—mana levels drastically fall again almost to the level of Spring, the Chills of Mana—mana levels drastically rises so much that mana life forms like plants or animals come at excess due to supply of mana being more than enough, this season was like a season of fruitful harvest especially for mages and lastly, the season of Mana Coupling.

During this season, mana becomes chaotic and almost dangerous for lifeforms which was why many casualties were experienced during this season however a group filled with some of the most powerful mages and swordsmen was formed to prevent these casualties.

Mana coupling was a year known for fear, grief, depression, and all negative vibes but after the passionate romance between the strongest archmage and female knight (swordsmen) which brought about a lot of good incidents apart from the peaceful coexistence of mages and knights, the season of Mana Coupling took a great turn.

As the tale went, the archmage was an extreme romanticist but an unfortunate one who never once landed a true relationship. All his relationships would always end up estranged due to various reasons but most especially because of the dangers of his work.

This all changed however when he met the greatest swordsman who happened to be a female, and claimed to have fallen in love with him at first sight. Eventually, after a series of challenges, they both became lovers, and during the season of Mana Coupling as a gift to his lover and a proposal, the archmage decided to visualize the true essence of Mana Coupling.

Mana Coupling was in fact a season where mana went into chaos due to their ongoing convergence—a period where all mana converges together to be purified for the next year, and all mana not involved with this purifying either turns into putrid mana (a deadly form of mana) or disperses and in a futile attempt to escape their convergence, mana goes into chaos which leads to the chaotic nature of mana during this season.

The visualization was a way for the archmage to comfort his beloved for any causalities that occurred after the conquests of Mana coupling and although it turned out no casualty was made, it was still the most romantic and one of the most revered acts of all time.

“The visualization usually happens at the end of the festival right after the announcing of the best couples and then the actual crossover to the next year where kids are allowed in begins. Oh! It’s so pretty, we should definitely see it master!” Feral fussed as he showed him a picture of a diamond.

“Such things make you happy hm?”

“Yes! Yes! Now come on guys let’s have lots of fun!!”

ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ: Yeepy!!

Feral dashed forwards from Genad as he sped into the market ordering all sorts of things including ones that were so useless Genad wouldn’t think of anything else but to trash them. Although he stole quite a lot of gold from the elves, wasn’t wasting it like this a bit too much?

“Have a bite now~ ahhh~,” Feral said as he tore out a piece of meat from the sick meat and threw it at the guardian beast who with a leap gobbled it right up.

“So cute~.”

Genad stared at this for a moment with an indistinct rumble in his eyes.

“I would like some of those too,” he stated with his usual stoic face garnering Feral’s attention.

“Oh, they sell it over there and it’s very cheap around 30 coppers,” Feral stated while making sticking out three fingers, “That’s why I got ten!”

“That’s a waste, it’s not like you can finish all of them?”

“Yes, I can, do not underestimate me, master!”

Genad: ….

Feral was stunned the next moment on seeing a flush on Genad’s face. Although his looks overall were reduced by having transformed into a slightly handsome dude with brown hair and green eyes, Dina didn’t know if it was his protagonist energy but he still looked as hot as ever.

Accompanied by his usual stoutness, seeing him flush up suddenly was a critical hit to Dina’s heart.

“Ahh…” Feral muttered in a daze as Genad walked towards him.

“I’m asking you to feed me yourself, can’t you take a hint?”

“Ah, okay…” Feral whispered softly as his pale face flushed up in embarrassment, why was this guy being like this?!

‘Zero!! My heart!!! I thought he was the cold type. But he’s actually the tsundere type???’

‘Perhaps.’

Feral stared shyly as Genad bit into the stick meat all the while being glared daggers at by the ignored guardian.

(^._.^)ノ: How dare he steal my slave!!

Genad chewed the meat which was now in his mouth slowly while staring at Feral who tried to escape but was held back by Genad,

“What??”

“I think I want you to feed me some more,” Genad said while pointing to his mouth, his face as stoic as always.

‘Don’t say such ambiguous things!!’ Feral sighed deeply with a flush as he complied reluctantly.

/ Awemeter increased to 25%. Keep it up T! /

Dina: ah, whatevs.

***

“Go! Go! Yeah!!!” Feral cheered as he proudly flexed his muscles, he had crushed all the darting games in this market!

Although she didn’t retain her physical capabilities while transmigrating, that was different when it came to her mental capabilities.

Dina was quite an archer, not the best but could be said to have dabbled in it a bit but even then, this amateurish game was nothing to her at all!

“I got another statue!!”

Genad rolled his eyes in annoyance as the load he held piled up once more; now who was the slave and who was the master?

They had eaten and collected lots of foods and romantic items ranging from cupid statures to false flowers to real ones to ropes to cheap heart-shaped/flower shaped/cupid jewelry and lots more! Now the guardian was wobbling from the number of jewelry it was adorned on and his hands were filled up and he couldn’t use his interdimensional space since they were trying to be discrete.

“Sorry master, I promise to hold them in my bracelet!” Feral apologized on seeing the mountain of items on Genad’s hands.

“Don’t fill the bracelet with such useless things, I’ll place it in mine instead.”

“Hehe, thanks!”

Suddenly, there was a commotion in the market as the people gathered around as if observing something odd.

Feral looked towards Genad who nodded at him and with a leap the guardian rolled unto Feral’s shoulder as they approached the commotion.

“You there stop!” a rude voice commanded.

‘Just as expected…’

Right before them were elves all dressed in royal military apparel and leading them on was a quite familiar figure—Silvia!
