In the blinding orange space which, although almost unnoticeable its color had turned into a darker shed, Dina stood with a book in her hands while shivering with unknown emotions.
As soon as she turned to the last page, she shut the book with a slam and flung it through the space without a glance back as it flew through the hollow.
“THIS IS SHIT,” Dina exclaimed whilst walking towards Zero-one as she glared right at him in anger, his eyes barely twitching even at the intense stare.
“If you have any problems transmigrator, we are….” Zero started but was cut off by Dina.
“Oh, I have many problems Zero-one! And I am now, as a bullied employee, requesting for your boss or I’ll be taking out the rage on you,” Dina said as she pointed her finger at Zero’s chest, hers moving up and down as she panted heavily in rage.
“I understand, he’ll be arriving in a few minutes so please calm down, and while at it do y…” Zero started but was cut off by Dina again.
“I don’t want to fucking hear any bullshit you have to spill. Just tell Jackson to get his ass here and explain to me the fucking hell what happened during my ‘memory loss’!” Dina exclaimed.
“Understood,” Zero stated. He suddenly materialized a sofa and motioned to Dina to sit, who sat with a huff.
She had just gotten all her memories back from the last world as soon as she arrived like a vortex of information swirling into her mind, she could barely calm herself down after she got back the memories, even the book Zero forced her to read to calm down didn’t do shit.
Not only did she lose her memories, but Zero also ABANDONED her in that world, making her utterly defenseless, in fact, the possibility that she might have forgotten who she was as a person and rather take up a new identity as Jerry was so high it scared her.
She wasn’t even treated like a respectable human rather than a tool to be brainwashed and used, without her consent! She was basically a puppet they used to clear the world, and it seriously pissed her off!
Forgetting her personal issues, it didn’t help that everything she had worked for got literally sucked down the drain, the healthy relationship with the kids and her constant minor efforts to change them collapsed into nothingness and the kids' life basically turned to shit.
She somehow ended up in a relationship with Jack and even till now she couldn’t help but feel guilty about that! The goddamn romance literally wiped the world like a tissue to an ass. What the hell?!
She was beginning to wonder if ‘Jerry’ was really just a corpse built-in for her like she was told or a real person with aspirations! Who was fucking in love! Then wasn’t she basically like an evil spirit who took over people’s bodies without consent?!
Why the fuck did she take this damn contract in the first place?! She was beginning to question a lot of things, including her sanity when she agreed to this trash contract. She basically sold her soul to the devil for a penny! No, even worse, for nothing. Thinking about it again, she never really had a concrete enough reason to take on this kind of risky thing did she?
‘Shit, I should have just gotten myself together in the first place and gotten over Jackson. What the hell did I sign up for?! Will I be meeting more crazy people like Jack or Favela? I don’t know! And what if by the time this is done, I won’t know who I am again?! Just like in the last world, if something had mistakenly happened, I would have ended up as ‘Jerry’ forever! What the hell did I sign up for?!’ Dina thought in a panic as she ran her nails roughly through her hair in exasperation.
She was only a second from having a nervous attack when Zero-one called out to her.
“He’s here,” He said with his usual cool voice.
?
Dina turned as she looked toward Jackson….
POOF!
And just with a glance, her entire worries were blown away and were replaced with affection. She tried. She really did try to provoke her rage, but it seemed to have literally flown away with wings.
How was that possible? Wasn’t she really angry a moment ago? Why…. just why….
‘Why was I angry again?’ Dina wondered. Here was Jackson with her, after finally so long she desired him? Why was she misbehaving? Risks? Reasons? Did it really matter when it came to Jackson?
When it came to Jackson…. what was it again?
Oh yes, she…. she... she had to give him her all! At all costs! With every fiber of her being! EVERYTHING.
Dina stared up at Jackson with a stupid smirk. In just a second all her thoughts were blown away. What safety? What about Jack? What kids? Nothing mattered at all… ONLY HE DID.
Dina tackled the brunette into a hug who rarely stood still and actually let him hug her. Dina’s heart soared to the greatest heights as she held unto him stronger, taking in his scent greedily.
Jackson only stood still, neither complaining nor complying as she took in her fill. It bothered him a bit that he was being used like an energy bar, but he knew he had to spoil her sometimes to keep her motivated for the Job.
“Jacky…” Dina muttered in a soft, kitten-like voice as if asking for affection.
“Geraldina,” Jackson responded coldly.
“Call me Dina,” she said, pouting. She wasn’t having any of that.
“……..”
“Will you not?”
“D-dina.”
“I love you… so…. much….” Dina muttered in a trance-like state, her eyes blurred with unknown emotions while the man in her hand stiffened, probably from displeasure at her words.
Zero-one frowned heavily, even without looking deep at her situation with his soul eyes, he could see with just the surface, any truly strong supernatural would notice, they would definitely notice just how tied up she was, if not from her attitude then from the sheer amount of phantoms that was circling her right there, enslaving her to Jackson.
They were too many to be counted to the naked eye, but that wasn’t what caught his attention… what did was….
‘Why do they…. resemble my abilities so much?’
