“Mblergh!!!” Feral bent over as he hurled out the contents in his stomach which in the first place wasn’t much.
He stood purging for a while and after he was done leaned away from his vomit on another tree as he tried to catch his breath.
“….”
Zero was a bit confused about this very situation. Apparently, Dina, his host was having a breakdown about killing a person, but why?
“You wouldn’t get it,” that was all Dina told him even when he asked.
He did want to get it but couldn’t, apparently, terror after killing was something humans experienced. How come his former hosts never had a hesitation when they did it?
Dina with how shaken up she was couldn’t explain to a certain AIT that environment was a major factor in everything. She, in the end, was a normal university student dragged into messy business due to her unreconciled ‘love’ and no matter how abnormal her life had been, murder was still a far cry from what could have strolled into it.
Sure, one would have taken her with questions such as- What about those she had shot before? When you took up a bow and weapon didn’t it occur to her that something like this would happen? Did she truly believe she wouldn’t meet such things eventually?
Even Dina couldn’t answer those questions. Maybe she subconsciously believed that all the people she shot would somehow recover since they didn’t die before her, maybe she just hadn’t thought that far which would be explainable with how catastrophic their days had been, and maybe she did think of it, probably a little bit but chose to ignore it and now remembering the bloody mess that she had caused on a fellow human’s body by her own hand… it only disgusted her.
She was disoriented not from terror as Zero had imagined, nor guilt, nor sorrow but pure fucking disgust. Disgusted of her bloody self, bloody victim, bloody everything, and she couldn’t be bothered to rationalize her actions with ‘defense’ because all she could think of was the sticky roach-like disgust that washed over her.
But emotions had always been something she was good at suppressing, no matter how thick they were, they were hers, and she could subdue them whenever she wanted. Unless, a third party was at work, like that case of hers with Jackson.
“It’s quite alright, Instead of mourning I’d rather just get used to it. Plus, wasting points on something like this could leave me hating myself when none remains at an actual important situation,” Dina conversed to Zero as she metaphorically dusted off her heavy emotions.
“But what will you do now?”
“What else?” Dina asked rhetorically, “Find my group of course!”
And with that, Feral was up and dusted, once again ready to depart. With that little meltdown/break he now had enough strength to continue his mission and so without hesitation, dashed off into the night once more.

[Meanwhile]
Short, soft white hair lay scattered on a beautiful pillow with rose vine design placed on a magnificent bed within a little room decorated with the colors of blue and white.
Surrounding the room stood various medical equipment which although not reaching the splendor of modern technology would have marveled Dina by its grace. Beside the large bed was a moderately sized window whose curtains were tightly shut and in that duration of time, footsteps walked towards them to unlock their restrain on the windows.
On opening, a brilliant flash of light flooded in seemingly startling the person on the bed, who with a low grunt, shifted his body slightly before parting his eyes to reveal a dazzling but dazed set of pink eyes.
Those eyes soon cleared upon seeing the person before him and instead were filled with a vindictive light.
“You….”
“Brother,” Zillah curtly replied with a small smile. She couldn’t say she was pleased with the condition her brother had been left in but what had to be done had to be done, not to mention it all worked out well, after all her friends had escaped and her brother was safe.
“You vermin! How cou- ack! Hagh! Hagh-” Orinda began but was soon cut off by a heavy cough which had him quivering in pain after he was done.
Zillah stared blankly then with a smile stated, “Please be careful brother.”
Strangely enough, he listened and after his cough subverted he gently lay on the bed with his eyes closed.
“What happened?” he muttered softly, soft enough to elude anyone’s hearing but apparently not Zillah’s.
“You were found by your guard and treated. Father would love you to stay here, after all the portal is opening. Also, he has refused to join the search of the ‘fugitives’, one right thing that old fox’s done in a while.” Zillah stated patiently, looking quite happy to recount the details but trying to hide her gladness on meeting with the evil glare from her brother.
For someone who represented the light, there were quite a lot of vicious expressions he had packed in there.
“I assume you’re happy having protected those evil creatures?”
“Brother, your mind lacks rest. Do sleep now, okay?” Zillah said passive-aggressively. She was just a short step from saying his brain was hurt but he was a patient and she, a patient individual.
“Ha.”
Orinda sighed before opening his eyes to glance at Zillah. Zillah was happily fiddling with the curtains without a care in the world and for a short moment, he wondered if his misfortune maybe… maybe had been for the best.
But he soon denounced such vile thoughts.
Although his sister’s happiness gave his heart happiness, his loyalty would never stray from his master, his lord, and his savior.
“Zillah,” he called out softly to the princess who finally looked at him. His lovely sister no matter how stubborn was indeed a princess, her sharp amber eyes in combination with her soft silver locks were just like her, soft but sharp.
Like a dagger hid within the prettiest sheath and a beautiful flower coated with poisonous thorns—that was who she was. Her love for comradeship was a force to be reckoned with and even now he knew he couldn’t hate her for it… he just couldn’t.
“Next time I meet the human race we won’t be fighting on the same side,” Orinda finally stated.
“I know,” Zillah replied, ignoring the stunned look on her brother’s face, “I could tell from everything you do that you’d soon denounce the human race and place full support on the angel’s race but brother, I don’t blame you.”
“Y..you don’t?” Orinda muttered softly, a stupid, unbelieving look fixated on his face.
Zillah sat down slowly on the bed without answering, her weight sinking into the soft bed as if to be swallowed the next second.
“Yes. Everyone has the right to follow what they desire and you, brother, are not an exception. You’ve always cherished the angel lord with your very soul, he saved you, you always said and you’d live your life for him to the very end of it. Even though we humans have a short life that was your decision.
“Go ahead brother, even if they all hate you I will still cherish you but know that no matter how much I love you, if the situation finds it then I WILL fight you. For my love for you is deep but my conscience is deeper and no matter how reckless I may seem, to me the human race is the first, the reason I do all I do. Do you think I simply chose to be loyal to those you call ‘fugitives’ just because? No, I have a reason, a mission to fulfill. What father could not do, his failure to the human race I chose to rewrite. The loyalty he could not give I chose to give and at the end of the very line, my true love is the human race and them alone.”
Orinda was beyond astounded as he stared at his lovely sister, her burning loyalty and determination shimmering, a shimmer even greater than the lord whom he served…
No! How could he think of such things… rather, how could he not when his sister was someone so awe-inspiring? Could he, even as he claims, have such loyalty?
“Sister, I wish you and the human race the very best. Comfort mother and () at my departure and as for the others… do as you see fit.”
“How cruel brother!” Zillah exclaimed with laughter as she threw herself onto Orinda.
“Hmph! Rid me of your defilement, you vile princess!”
“No, no brother! This might be my last time so I might as well...”
….
…
..
.
Outside the door stood a stern individual who listened to all the bustle and laughter within the room before letting out a soft chuckle.
“I’m happy for you my princess and am sorry I’ll have to intrude.”
With that, Lucius twisted the doorknob as he went in.
