Their relationship appeared to be improved just from their conversation. Eliza's attention was caught by the weapon in front of her, and after confirming that there was no particular reason to stay, she decided to test Clover's combat ability to further improved her knowledge regarding Clover.
Who knows, maybe she will know him to the point that she knows him like she was his wife and Clover was her husband.
