Morgan smiled. He didn't expect Clover to keep up with his line of thought.
He was testing Clover because he wanted to know the level of his cognitive abilities. As he came to understand that Clover was a genius.
"That's right, for you are the brain, and just like your body, the brain will listen to your orders."
"So in short, you must have complete dominance over your mind.
Didn't you notice that in some situations, where you want to do things but your body can't handle it?
Let's say you want to punch a wall so hard, but when your fist is about to collide with the wall, your body will immediately send signals to your brain to stop you, for the consequence will be dire. And that's when you lost control of your mind in a millisecond to minimize the effect it will bring."
Clover was enlightened, expressing his thoughts, he then immediately said.
"Yes, I notice that as well."
Ignoring his remarks, Morgan changed the topic because he thought, he should stop wasting more words and just show him into action.
Morgan picked up another rock and made a throwing form.
"This is what you call form, by creating a path for your body to perform. Using Body form, you can accomplish things without getting your body strained.
So this is how you throw…" Morgan continued instructing Clover on how to throw correctly.
…..
Bang Bang….
Three hours passed. A continuous sound of a rock hitting a trunk could be heard, echoing through the forest.
A young man in shirtless was showcasing his thin and frail body as he constantly threw stone after stone.
'This will be my tenth consecutive hit, after hitting this target.'
And with a swoosh, he throws the rock, hitting the target precisely.
Bang
The rock hits the target and stays there unmoving. The target dot had long been erased and replaced by a hole of a Stone size.
Caused by the constant hitting with the same target.
[Throwing Novice Mastery acquired.]
[Congratulation host for gaining the Mastery of throwing.]
A booming voice suddenly echoed into his mind.
"AH!"
Clover who was already exhausted was suddenly startled and so he couldn't help but yelp suddenly.
Morgan who was brandishing something immediately landed his gaze on Clover. Seconds later, seeing nothing happened to him. He couldn't help thinking that maybe being a genius has a side effect.
Like suddenly yapping for no reason.
Shaking his head to erase these thoughts, focusing on his work.
'System! Didn't you say that you will not chat with me anymore until I can split my consciousness?' Clover complained on his head.
[…]
[It is not my fault, host. For that was beyond my control. Informing you is what I'm obliged to do.] God's Record explained.
Clover couldn't complain anymore about that, he's a person who wouldn't blame anyone and just blame himself for his incapability.
'Sigh, let's just forget it.' Clover shakes his head.
Clover was not the type to dwell on something that was not important, and continuing to blame someone was not his style.
A moment after, he suddenly realizes something, he couldn't help but frown.
"System, that's it?" Clover mutter. Morgan was far away from him anyways.
[What do you mean host?] God's Record asks, but not a hint of confusion could be heard, still emotionless.
"That you just congratulate me. That's it?" Clover raises his voice slightly, Morgan heard it, of course, but ignores it.
He was in the middle of something important, so he couldn't bother wasting time on him.
"Is there no reward for me having a mastery?" Clover asked.
[For you to throw precisely on the same target ten times and with the same distance is already an award.] God's Record said without feeling anything wrong with it.
Clover hearing God's Record shocking refute with her indifferent voice made his heartache. As if his efforts were not satisfying.
From what he reads in system novels, the system would reward the host with some Godly gift like the Cultivation method to becoming a God. Even though it's incomplete, the price it holds is still unimaginable even to those immortals.
And what does he receives from his system? Just congratulations. Who wouldn't feel depressed about it?
'Yeah, yeah… All you can do is Record my achievements in reaching Godhood. But if I die midway, doesn't that mean your mission is failed?' Clover asks in his mind. He didn't bother using his voice as he was beyond exhausted from the mental shock given by God's Record.
[Then, it was my fault for picking a useless host.] God's Record replied not only damaged his mental but also his emotional capacity.
Clover heard her savage reply, the words were floating in his mind.
'Useless… Useless…' Clover was in a daze.
He couldn't believe that someone calling him useless. Not even his adopted parents ever called him that. And even though someone called him that, it was his bully.
But God's Record is different. They were bound in the soul, so it means if I die, then she will.
For her calling him useless was unforgivable.
'Hump, how would you know that I'm useless?' Clover snorted on his mind.
[If you can't even reach Godhood, then you are useless.] God's Record replied, her voice was still the same as before.
'Then I will prove it to you.' Clover made a promise not only to God's Record but to himself.
For he knows that reaching Godhood could he obtain everything. Like knowing what happens to his mother and father. Even though he could just ask about it with his adopted parents since they seem to know about it.
They refused, for they promised his father not to talk even a hint about it. For his father promised that he would explain it to Clover when the time comes.
With that, Clover rested. He couldn't help but smile that this system of his doesn't have the capability to help him reach Godhood.
He hates it when he depends on someone to reach his Goal.
"Clover, Come here." A voice from afar calling Clover's name.
Clover, feeling that he doesn't have the energy to walk for he was exhausted enough from throwing rocks for three hours straight, replied.
"Let me rest for a minute." His voice was low, and thus Morgan didn't hear it.
But he was sensible enough that Clover was exhausted and needed to rest. So he walked toward him while on his hands, he was clutching something.
Stopping at Clover who was lying down on the ground, Morgan called out to him seeing that his eyes were closed.
"Look, starting now you will learn how to make these, as this is your weapon from now on." Morgan then showed him what something on his hand was.
He opened his eyes, and Clover looked at Morgan, and his gaze landed on his hands – it was a weapon.
"Was that thing made from the bone of the deer?" Clover asked, just making sure if he was correct.
"No, it was made by its antler. Strangely, the antler hardness and sharpness can compare to steel." Morgan said while feeling the weapon with his hands.
"Oh! So that's why it was being narcissistic on its antler, huh?" Clover snorted at that deer's behavior. Suddenly he remembers something and asks Morgan with enthusiasm.
"But the size of the antler... Does that mean you can create many Flying knives?"
