Chapter 47 - Meeting with other Humans (1)

Dawn came, and Clover could be seen walking at a slightly hurried pace like he was jogging. Although he wanted nothing more but to enjoy the peacefulness brought by nature. His mind would constantly loop about Eleanor and Rose's death, causing his body to unconsciously move a bit fast.

However, Clover as being an optimistic person. He would try to divert his attention about how to complete Morgan's request causing him to subconsciously reach out for the pendant that Morgan gave to him if it was still with him. He was afraid that if he lost it, he would have to go back on his track, wasting more time.

Although he was engrossed in his own thoughts, he had trained his nervous system to act without his command. That's why he could even fold his eyes and walked in this jungle, where he would eventually come across a thick tree. However, he doesn't have to acknowledge that there was a tree before him and would let his body move to avoid it.

"Hmm?"

He was awakened by a sound similar to gunfire. Although he was already used to the sound of a beast fighting themselves, the fact that the sound he heard earlier was unfitting of a beast battling. His mind immediately caught the abnormality.

"Finally! There's a human activity happening in that direction!" He exclaimed, and immediately dashed towards the direction where he heard the gunfire.

While he was running in that direction, whenever his foot contacted the ground. He could perceive the tremor that seemed was the caused by the gunfire he heard earlier. And as while he was approaching the area, humanoid figures were now visible in his eyes.

"They seem to be battling a beast. Better watch for a while and if they can't defeat it, then I will so that I can gain their trust" He made his decision after stopping his steps.

He hopped over the crown of trees where he made sure that he could watch them over the distance without having blind spots. He also made sure that he was covered with a crown of trees so that they would not suspect him to be a rogue person.

"Oh? They are battling a Rank 1 middle-stage beast?" He was amused.

After studying the book that he received over a month ago. It not only contained the cultivation rankings, but also the dividend in the power of a beast. The highest ranking recorded in that book was only Rank 3 – a magical beast.

The rankings of the cultivators and the beast were similar. To defeat a magical beast, only a Rank 3 cultivator above could beat them. That's why when a cultivator met a predator magical beast, with his ranking below Rank 3. He better remembers his sin and tries to appease God to accept him in his kingdom.

"They seem a bit in a disadvantage. That beast they are fighting is similar to the yellow-striped tiger I beat a long time ago. However, the beast they are fighting seems a little bit stronger," He analyzed.

His right hand was on his chin. He was sitting in a lotus position while he rested his left hand, palm on his knee, facing the elbow upwards.

He continued: "But I guess with their number and their weapon, they could turn the advantage to them."

While he scrutinize the beast's appearance, which was completely black but the outline similar to the yellow-stripe tiger, he noticed that the beast was no tiger and may have been a leopard. This explains why the beast was faster than the yellow-striped tiger.

"Hmm… Even with numbers, facing a leopard is tough. In addition, the leopard isn't larger than the yellow-striped tiger which makes it harder for them to shoot the yellow-striped tiger even in point blank range."

His eyes then landed on the man holding the weapon and he couldn't help but laughed.

"HAHAHA, This man sure is funny. With his appearance, anyone would assume that they belong to an ethnic group of people hunting some food, but seeing him holding a gun with both of his hands is kind of funny. HAHHAHA"

Losing control of the desire to laugh, he immediately covered his mouth and his pupil darted everywhere to know who heard him.

"Sigh, I guess no one hears me. But who could control their emotions seeing this group of people who give the impression that they are in the age of tribe? But using guns to hunt? This is the first time I heard nor seen this personally." He chuckled while he still covered his mouth with his right hand.

"Hmm? That guy who's in the forefront. He is strong…" He said slowly as his eyes were wholly focused on the man holding the hammer which was bigger than him.

"Not only him, but his weapon seems to be sturdy and carry some weight. Although he couldn't hit the leopard since he swings so slow when the miss hit the tree, it immediately shattered from the impact," He muttered with an astonished face.

"For him to carry that weapon he must have reached the middle stage as well," He muttered with a bitter expression painted on his face.

He thought that his talent was already considered a monster, but seeing that there's another one with the same stages as him when he only saw that first human. He couldn't help but wonder that maybe there was already a human who have reach Rank 2.

Dismissing these thoughts at the back of his head. He waited for his chance, but that chance didn't come when he heard a whizzed sound and a roar of cry followed after.

"That's a good one!"

Exclaimed by the man at the vanguard who stood before the leopard who was wiggling in pain. Its back rested on the ground while his four limbs faced the sky, and his right eye was spurted with blood uncontrollably, which caused him not to see the man standing on his right side and was about to strike him to death.

"Full strength smash!"

What followed that yell was a loud, deep, resonant sound that echoed throughout the forest.
