"What do you mean?" Katsumi asked, narrowing his eyes. He recognized the figure in front of him. It was Yuji Shinakawa, the one who had broken all previous speed records.
Seeing him there, in his dojo, was a bit confusing. But Katsumi thought he had probably heard the impact and decided to investigate.
"Can't you see?" Yuji began. "If a normal person punched at the speed of sound, every part of their arm would suffer irreparable fractures, and that's just by punching the air. Imagine hitting a target? That person's arm would explode."
Clenching his fist, Yuji delivered a strong punch into the air, a gust of wind sweeping through the room, causing Katsumi to be surprised for a moment.
"We, fighters, are not normal people. We can handle Mach 1, or even Mach 2. But there's a big difference between that and the speed you reached. My arm almost exploded when I reached Mach 3 during the tournament." Throwing another punch, a crack sounded as the sound barrier was broken. "But Mach 1, 2, or 3—we can surpass that when our bodies become strong enough."
With veins bulging under Yuji's skin, Katsumi seemed surprised to see how the boy's aura appeared to change, his eyes moving across Yuji's muscles as he seemed to be preparing for something.
Boom!
And with Yuji punching the air, a shockwave emanated from his fist, Katsumi's clothes flapping wildly, his eyes widening in surprise.
'Mach 3? No... It was more than that! Mach 4, then?!'

Looking at his hand, Yuji noticed his fingers trembling slightly. Even after a few months of training, the attack still put pressure on his body.
"I can only do this because I strengthen my body through techniques. You use a different method, don't you?"
Katsumi remained silent, his eyes closing as his cheeks took on a slight reddish hue... This made Yuji stare at him in bewilderment.
"I imagine my bones have thousands of joints."
"..."
The silence between them was palpable, Yuji blinking slowly as he watched Katsumi rub his neck.
"I understand." It was a bit strange, but imagination was indeed a thing in this world. He wasn't that surprised. "But imagination won't make your muscles strong enough to withstand the impact on your body. Punching the air doesn't compare to punching a monster like Pickle."
Katsumi nodded. To tell the truth, excited by the realization of using such a powerful technique, he had dismissed any problems he might have later. With someone pointing out the effects it would have on him, it brought him back to reality.
But in the end, it didn't change anything. It was his best chance against Pickle.
"But I still intend to use it, even if it costs me my arms and legs." And with a determined glint in his eyes, he declared bluntly.
Yuji had expected such a response. Just as he had used everything to win the tournament, Katsumi was willing to use everything to defeat Pickle. He could completely sympathize with him.

But looking at his status, and knowing his fate, a crushing defeat awaited him.
Yuji preferred to change that. Maybe Katsumi would still be unable to win, but at least he wouldn't lose in a crushing manner.
"I know a way to lessen the impact of the attack on your body." And speaking bluntly, he looked at Katsumi seriously.
"What?" Surprised for a moment, Katsumi turned to him, temptation gleaming in his eyes. "What technique is that?"
"Actually, it's two techniques. One will increase the resilience of your muscles, and the other will help you cause even more damage."
"..."
Katsumi narrowed his eyes at those words. It didn't make sense for someone like Yuji, whom he didn't even know, to suddenly want to help him... It was suspicious.
"Why are you helping me?" And asking directly, Katsumi looked at him cautiously.
With the question, Yuji rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
In truth, even he couldn't quite understand the reason for it... But he had already done many things simply because he wanted to, so why should this be different? Subconsciously, he had a reason for it, but he just focused on doing them rather than understanding the reason.
Maybe he just wanted to help Katsumi because he vaguely remembered his character and liked him. Or maybe it was simply because he wanted to see how some of his techniques would work on someone like Pickle.
Either way, he was going to help because he wanted to. He wouldn't overthink the reasons.
"I wouldn't want to see you lose in a crushing manner, so why shouldn't I help?"
This made Katsumi frown. "I don't intend to lose."
"But you will. The first attacks will destroy your fist, and then they will destroy your muscles. It would be a very ugly scene to witness." Approaching the karateka, Yuji gave a small smile. "Believe me, I've felt it firsthand."
Katsumi stared at him, but he didn't detect any lies or malice in his words. He could tell Yuji was being completely honest.
For that reason, he saw no reason not to at least listen to him.
"What techniques are you talking about?"
Yuji smiled in satisfaction, turning around, and began walking through the dojo.
"The first one I'm going to teach you was developed by a Karateka. You might know him; his name is Wakatsuki Takeshi."
Katsumi nodded, recalling the name. "He's strong; my father fought him a few years ago and was almost defeated."
"He's indeed powerful." Yuji nodded, remembering the fight between Wakatsuki and Julius. "His technique is very powerful and was one of the reasons he went so far in the annihilation tournament...
It's called [Blast Core]."
Boom!
Striking a punching bag, Yuji watched as the object split in half, the sand scattering all over the floor.
"And I'm going to teach it to you."
