In an abandoned shed, Daniel Park watched Hobin Yoo with a complicated expression.
Since he had seen Hobin's way of fighting, Daniel realized that he could be a strong ally and so he wasted no time in exchanging numbers when the war was over.
He knew from the quick conversations they had while facing the Workers that Hobin hated them.
If someone so strong was willing to take them on, Daniel wouldn't hesitate to recruit him to his new group.
Allied.
But there was something that bothered him deeply about Hobin joining the group.
And that was the man sitting on one of the boxes at the site, who had accompanied Hobin.
That powerful man he had seen completely destroy Gun Park.
Yuji Shinakawa, the legend of the second generation.
"I know I called you here, but did you really need to bring him?"
In front of Yuji, he could see a group of six people, made up of Daniel, Zack, Hudson, Vasco, Hobin and Jay, the members of Allied staring at him as if he could take them down right then and there.
"We saw the moment he made an alliance with the Workers, so what is he doing here?" Zack frowned as he questioned. It was obvious, at least to Zack, that this powerful man couldn't be on their side, whose main objective was to destroy the Workers.
"It's a correct question. From what I understand, this man is on the Workers' side. It would be better if we took him down immediately." Hudson, in anticipation of a fight, adjusted the sleeves of his shirt.
But sensing the hostile air that was beginning to settle in the room, Daniel was quick to stand in front of the group and try to calm the situation.
"You don't have to worry."
But while Daniel was trying to stop his colleagues from starting a fight in that place, Yuji simply spoke as he stood up.
"My alliance with the Workers is just a way of achieving my goal quickly. I have no connection with them outside of that."
Standing in front of that group, Yuji couldn't help but analyze each of them.
Absolutely, each of them had tremendous potential. Hudson and Jay shared the same [XRRR] potential, while Vasco and Zack were evenly matched at [URR]. By far, Daniel and Hobin were the ones with the greatest potential, Daniel with a potential of [MRR], while Hobin was just one ranking behind, [MR].
Except for Hudson and Jay, the others outclassed most of the wrestlers in the Annihilation Tournament in raw potential. In terms of power, Yuji would say that Zack and Vasco would give a good fight to someone of Imai Cosmo's level in the tournament, while Hobin and Daniel could give a good match to Saw Paing.
Yuji was still frightened by the average potential of the Korean people.
While most of the fighters in Japan he knew had the average potential of [XRR], the average fighters in Korea he had met ranged from [UR] to [URRR]. Of course, there were exceptions, such as Ohma and Raian, but even so, Korea simply stands out when it comes to the potential of its fighters.
But it was strange that even so, Japan's fighters were considerably more powerful than Korean fighters.
This was probably due to the fact that most fighters from Korea who wanted to become stronger left the country in search of challenges.
Yuji could understand that. While Korea produced fighters with great potential, most of them didn't bother to exploit it, making it difficult to find truly powerful opponents for the dedicated to face.
Korea was basically like a mother bird, hatching her egg until the baby finally hatched. After feeding it and letting it grow enough, she would throw it out of the nest so that it could learn to fly. If it couldn't overcome this, then unfortunately, it would die from the fall or lose its ability to fly.
"..."
Scratching his chin, Yuji paused to reflect on his own thoughts.
'Maybe that's not the best comparison.
Blinking, he suddenly shook his head to clear his thoughts, returning to the group in front of him.
"He's a bit strange." Zack whispered to Vasco, causing the Burn Knuckles leader to nod in agreement.
"Well, back to the point. As I said, I have no connection with the Workers outside our alliance. I'll be cooperating with them only because our goals align, nothing more."
Sitting down again, Yuji relaxed as if he were on a throne, which caused Hudson to frown.
"I heard from Hobin that you were creating an alliance with the intention of overthrowing the Workers."
Daniel, hearing him, immediately turned to Hobin, the rest of the group doing the same while the boy put on an embarrassed expression as he scratched the back of his head.
"I don't mind that, but I have a request for you." Facing them seriously, Yuji made it clear where the conversation was going, which caused everyone in the room to straighten up as they prepared to listen to him. "I want you to research James Lee."
Daniel blinked at this, his face filling with confusion as he took a step forward.
"Wait! What do you mean? Why do you want us to investigate him?"
Yuji scratched his chin, his eyes closing as a memory came to mind.
The moment he came face to face with James Lee, the moment he could clearly see that man's aura.
Standing up, Yuji stood in front of Daniel, his larger stature towering over him, the Korean fighter unable to help comparing his imposing stature to Gun Park. "You want to destroy the Workers, don't you?"
Despite asking them, Yuji wasn't really expecting an answer, since he already knew.
"So discovering James Lee's secrets is essential. Believe it or not, that man is not what he appears to be."
Turning to leave the warehouse, Yuji stared at the exit for a moment before turning to the group.
"There's something very wrong with him, and that's not just my feeling. That man's level of evil may even be on a par with Charles Choi, so be careful while you're digging into his past."
Walking towards the exit, Yuji waved goodbye.
"I'm not telling you to do this right away, just to align it with your own plans. If you find out anything, Hobin can tell me everything later."
Stopping in front of the exit, Yuji turned around again, this time raising his thumb.
"By the way, as their first supporter, don't hesitate to call me if you can't deal with someone."
"..."
Disappearing from the group's sight, an awkward silence hung between them, Daniel turning to face Hobin again while the rest of the members followed his example.
.
In front of a stream, Yuji watched the fish jump out of the water with a serious look on his face.
"..."
When he asked Daniel's group to investigate James Lee, he didn't do it on a whim, or because he feared the man.
It was because of his aura.
There was something strange about James' aura, something that left him with a flea behind his ear.
Thinking about his aura, he couldn't help remembering when he first met Charles Choi.
He could clearly remember that man's oppressive, murderous aura
While his system could tell him one thing, Yuji relied too much on his aura reading to think it was a coincidence.
The aura of Charles Choi and James Lee was absolutely identical.
But that, even though he had seen all sorts of things in that world, was still considerably unrealistic.
Was the possibility of Charles having two bodies plausible?
Maybe...
The truth was that Yuji didn't have enough information to declare anything. His system, being his main source of information, showed that they were both different entities, but his ability to see auras was telling him that they were the same person.
It was simply strange, even for that world.
"...That's weird."
Ding!
Dismissing his thoughts when a message arrived on his phone, Yuji picked it up to see a message from Eugene.
[Four-eyed idiot: I need you to come immediately.]
Yuji raised an eyebrow at this, his eyes moving to the sky to notice that the sun was beginning to set.
"..."
"I think I'll get something to eat."
