____Narration____
"Thank you very much for bringing me here, Doctor Hanafusa. I would have asked my sister, but I didn't want to take up her time with Yuji before the fight."
"No need to thank me. Allowing me to take care of your body is more than enough for me to feel indebted."
Mokichi nodded, despite the doctor's strange words.
In the stands, Baritsu's master watched Yuji's entrance with an indifferent expression.
He didn't know what to think about the fight in question.
Kanoh was injured, but compared to Yuji, it was as if Metsudo's Fangs hadn't fought at all.
Did Yuji have a chance of winning? Yes, of course. There's always a chance, however tiny.
But it was too unlikely. Mokichi knew his student, and could tell that Yuji would even fight with his teeth if necessary, but perseverance alone would not give him victory, especially against someone of Kanoh Agito's level.
"But... What's that?"
But since Yuji's awakening in the infirmary, Mokichi hadn't seen the boy again due to his own treatment.
He hadn't had time to measure the boy's growth during the tournament.
But at that moment, watching him walk towards Kanoh Agito, he could tell clearly.
Yuji had become much stronger.
But it wasn't a simple increase in strength, or the experiences he'd received in his previous matches.
Experienced fighters could tell how strong an opponent was just by observing the slightest gestures of their bodies.
Posture, foot position, walking, muscle flexion.
All this could indicate someone's level of strength.
And Mokichi, who was an expert in this kind of observation, was able to notice considerable changes in all these aspects in Yuji.
His posture had changed to become even more stable, as if he were in complete balance with gravity. His gait had a dangerous feel to it, and most people couldn't take their eyes off him, believing that he could disappear in a single instant. The skin pressed around all his muscles, giving a glimpse of even greater muscular definition than the boy had shown before his fight against Kuroki Gensai.
The boy didn't even look injured, the damage that should have been apparent wasn't even marked on his skin. The only thing that indicated that he was really hurt was his completely bandaged right arm.
His movements did not indicate any kind of internal damage, as if the boy was back in his first match of the tournament.
Mokichi could tell that this wasn't an act. He knew the boy, and he knew that as an actor, Yuji was an excellent electrician.
The boy wasn't repressing pain, or limitations that hindered his movements. It was just the boy moving in the way he found most comfortable.
Realizing this, Mokichi understood that Yuji wasn't at as much of a disadvantage as he thought. In fact, the boy's increased strength had even left him in doubt as to the winner of the fight.
Would God's Anomaly break Metsudo's Fangs, or would Metsudo's Fangs devour God's Anomaly?
Mokichi wasn't sure, but he would be rooting for his student. He and Agito had a friendly relationship, but he would be lying if he said he wouldn't like to see him defeated, especially after Mokichi had been destroyed so many times in their sparring matches.
And Mokichi wasn't the only one with this desire.
In fact, most fighters would like to see the fall of Kanoh Agito's empire.
But would that happen?
They could only wait to find out.
.
In the arena, Yuji and Kanoh stared at each other with intensity. Their auras exploded out of their bodies uncontrollably in a contest to decide who would devour whom.
A confrontation before the real fight, a contest that the fighters could clearly see.
A contest without a winner, which only served to highlight how evenly matched the two fighters were.
"Any of them can win." In the stands, Saw Paing was the one who commented, his expression unusually serious. "Injuries from previous matches don't matter. A single slip-up from either of them, and it's all over."
Beside him, Kaolan nodded in agreement, the other fighters turning their attention to both of them.
"It's frightening to see Yuji's leap in strength. He even looks like those anime protagonists who get a Zenkai with every fight." Okubo Naoya spoke as he crossed his arms, those who heard him nodding at his words, even though some of them didn't even understand what "Zenkai" meant. "That youth gives me the creeps."
"I think it's encouraging. I'm rooting for Yuji's future." Himuro commented as he cracked a small smile.
"You're only 25! Why are you acting like you're over 30?" Kaneda asked with a raise of his eyebrows, receiving only silence in response.
"Maybe he should focus on training instead of pretending to be wise." Okubo muttered to Kaneda.
"Quiet, it's about to start." Himuro was quick to cut them off, the Jeet Kune Do practitioner completely focused on the arena.
Back to Yuji and Agito, both fighters took their stances as the referee raised his arm to start the match, the uncontrolled aura of their bodies disappearing in a single instant, leaving room only for the presence of the two combatants.
"Ready?"
Yuji's feet settled on the ground, a sigh escaping his lips as his muscles became even more apparent.
"Start!"
