____Narration____
Boom!
Stepping back as Kuroki advanced towards him, Yuji dodged his fingers as he let himself fall backwards, counterattacking by placing his hand on the ground and rotating his body to kick the old master's torso.
A rather predictable move, but one that Kuroki was able to read calmly and block with his biceps.
!
But to Kuroki's surprise, the attack wasn't a simple kick, and Kuroki could tell when he felt his feet being dragged away the instant the blow hit his defenses, his brow furrowing as he turned to Yuji to see the boy on his feet about to advance.
'He used the rakshasa palm to increase the rotation of his body and make his kick more powerful... Ingenious.
Kuroki praised him, his hand moving fast enough to deflect the trajectory of the boy's palm as he returned the attempt with his own kick, an attack that Yuji promptly evaded by jumping on his leg and kicking him in the face.
Boom!
But that was nothing to Kuroki, who grabbed Yuji's leg in mid-air, lifting the boy's body as if it were as light as a feather.
'Kid, I won't take it easy on you anymore!
Kuroki asked in his mind, his body anticipating using all its strength to smash the boy to the ground.
'Then show me how far you can go!
*Tear
Kuroki's eyes widened in surprise when suddenly the boy's foot landed on his shoulder, an intense pain coursing through his body like electricity, the sensation loosening his grip, which Yuji promptly took advantage of to free himself and kick the old master away.
Holding his shoulder, Kuroki felt his flesh twist into a spiral, which made him snort in frustration. Having the same place twisted by Setsuna in the indoor match, this only served to hurt the place even more, which would certainly diminish his power in his left arm.
This was definitely a surprise. Kuroki couldn't have expected that in just two years, the boy in front of him would be able to do the same as Setsuna, rotating his feet to use the rakshasa palm. It was unthinkable, even for Setsuna, who had been directly taught by Taira Genzan.
To see a boy who had only copied the style replicate such a technique was impressive.
This only served to make him believe even more that the style that his friend wanted to pass on was in good hands.
But also...
Returning to his stance, Kuroki's expression darkened as his aura exploded in a way that everyone in the arena could feel, making even the fighters tense at what was about to happen.
This showed that the old master could no longer take this lightly, since the young man in front of him had an even greater sense of combat than Setsuna. So, from this moment on...
He would fight with intent to kill.
"..."
Yuji watched Kuroki in silence, his eyes squinting as he jumped to warm up his body.
For now, things were going his way, but he could clearly see that from this moment on, a single slip-up could decide everything. Kuroki was even more serious, and this time, he wasn't going to hold back on his blows.
Smiling, Yuji clenched his fists as he let his own aura explode throughout the arena, his muscles hardening in preparation.
But why did it matter? At the end of the day, he just had to get over it. Even if Kuroki immobilized his arms, he would only have to fight with his legs, and if he lost them, he would just crawl over and bite him until he devoured him.
For the last two years, all his training had been for this tournament. All his spilled blood, all his scars, all the near-death nights, all his broken bones, he had gone through it all, just with the intention of overcoming everyone.
His dream never changed along the way.
He loved the feeling of fighting, he loved the feeling of victory, but his dream in this world was nothing more than to become the strongest, so that he could live without worrying about those he loved.
And to do that, he needed to defeat the strongest, and the man in front of him was one of them.
No matter what he had to sacrifice, he would do it, he would beat Kuroki Gensai, and he would continue on his path to becoming the king of kengan fighting.
No one would stop him.
Boom!
Lowering his arms to block a palm strike, Yuji was startled when the power behind the blow pushed his arms up, leaving his defense completely open.
Shit.
His eyes filled with frustration as he saw Kuroki throw his hand towards his chest, his teeth clenching as he hardened his chest just moments before he felt the old master's fingers pierce his flesh, his body being thrown away as blood gushed from his new wound.
"There it is! The devil's spear has been unleashed!"
The crowd cheered as they finally saw Kuroki use the technique that had become his trademark in the tournament, some of the fighters fearing for Yuji as he fell backwards to the ground.
"It's over for the boy." It was Sekibayashi who spoke with a look of pity on his face.
"Uh? What are you talking about? The fight isn't over yet." Akira frowned as he watched the wrestler hand victory to Yuji's opponent so easily.
"Don't be innocent, kid. That old man isn't someone who can be defeated so easily. That young man is definitely strong, but expecting him to win this fight is out of touch with reality."
"You don't know him." Listening to him, Akira simply replied as he turned towards the arena, which made most of the surrounding fighters turn towards him. "When it comes to Yuji, nothing is impossible. He won't go down with a simple attack like that, and he won't even back down or cower."
With the fighters' gazes on him, Akira cracked a small, confident smile as he kept his eyes on the fight.
"No matter who he faces, Yuji will definitely win."
!
Back in the arena, Yuji slowly stood up, his expression grim as he ran his fingers over the wound on his chest, noticing that thanks to the [indestructible], the wound had only been superficial.
Kuroki raised an eyebrow at this, becoming increasingly impressed with the boy in front of him.
"Niko style... Tell me, kid. How did you learn it?"
Yuji didn't respond, bringing his hand up to his face to wipe away the blood running down his lips. Even though the wound was superficial, the attack had still affected his insides, hurting him more on the inside than the outside.
"How did I learn...?"
Yuji sighed, his expression strangely calm and noticing this, Kuroki immediately went on guard when he felt hostility hit him.
"How about this..."
Letting his arms fall forward, a huge smile appeared on the young fighter's lips, his eyes filled with a strange happiness.
"After I defeat you, I'll make a point of explaining it."
[Ding! Congratulations! You evolved during the fight!]
