____Narration____
Yuji had a bad feeling about this.
Although the attack by the invaders was only directed at him, and not as the beginning of the invasion, he was still anxious about the situation on the island.
And if that wasn't enough, he still hadn't been able to find Hiyama at all, which was making him worried.
The only people who knew about the fact that he had killed Akoya and Hiyama had approached him were the bodyguards and the people close to him. With some invaders infiltrating the guards, they possibly already knew this information, which was a strong indication of what might have happened.
So he asked Senju to keep the girls in the infirmary, at least until the whole situation was resolved. He didn't want them to be kidnapped just as a way to affect him, and the infirmary had some fighters powerful enough to protect them.
"We need to move. After the attack against Yuji, we realize that our defenses are lower than usual. The last thing we want is an attack on the world leaders." It was Katahara Retsudo who spoke, Metsudo's youngest son. "We can no longer simply keep our defenses high, we will only be prolonging the inevitable."
"So we will send a task force to hunt down the invaders outside, while we eliminate the infiltrators." The bodyguards nodded in agreement. "We may not eliminate them immediately, but as long as we can stop the invasion, then there is no need for that."
.
Outside the dome, Yuji walked through the forest while looking around with an indifferent expression.
Even though Retsudo had asked him to rest for his next fight, he had decided to go in search of Hiyama. The woman currently trusted him, and he didn't like the idea of betraying her trust in this way.
So, after looking for her around the tame for some time and not finding her, he went on his search in the forest. At that moment, he was sure that this was not just about her resting somewhere.
With his enhanced senses, he was confident that he could find the invaders, but depending on where they were hiding, it could take time, since the island was huge.
The last thing he wanted was for something to happen to Hiyama because of his delay.
"!"
Fortunately, he did not have to walk far to find the first clue about his disappearance
"Look at that! Our target came to us and.... Alone? What is this? A joke?"
Leaping from a tree, a man in a white suit landed a few feet away from Yuji, two other men doing the same next.
"So it was this kid who knocked out those three idiots?"
"Ha! That just means they are a bunch of incompetents."
Looking at the newcomers, the first thing Yuji noticed was the dress of the three. The white suits were the common uniform of the guardians, a version of the bodyguards of the Kengan association, commanded by Hayami Katsumasa.
This in itself was more than enough information for him to find out who was responsible for the invasion; after all, the guardians would not carry out such an attack without their master's command.
Besides, Hayami didn't have the best reputation in the association, since he had already attempted a coup against Katahara many years before, so it wasn't too difficult to connect the dots.
"Well, it doesn't matter. If we eliminate him now, then we might even move up in rank." One of the men spoke with hostility exploding from his body, a beastly grin appearing on his lips as he pulled out a knife.
"I agree." Agreeing with their companion, the other two guardians pulled out their respective weapons.
Realizing that one of them was carrying a Kusarigama, Yuji frowned.
'I've heard that song before.' Some memories came into his mind, a sigh escaping his lips as he turned to the three invaders in front of him.
!
Throwing his scythe with intent to pierce Yuji's throat, the guardian was startled when the boy simply held the weapon with ease.
"I don't have time to waste on that." The young fighter said with hostility in his tone, completely ignoring the guardian's attempts to pull the weapon from his hands. "If you guys just cooperate, I'll let all three of you live. I'm giving you guys a chance, I'd take it."
Yuji was seriously giving the three a chance, but unfortunately, in the minds of the three guardians, his words were like an insult. They would never surrender to a child, their pride was too great for them to reason about the situation.
Realizing that they were not willing to give up, Yuji sighed.
Why was he still trying?
.
The last fight of the second round had been brutal. It took Kanoh putting his pride aside for him to beat Gaolang, and that, to Metsudo's fangs, was worse than any blow he had ever received in his life.
He was the Fangs of Metsudo! The one who evolves and overcomes everything! How could he deserve that title when he was put up against the wall like this?
Maybe... Maybe it really was time for him to pass on his mantle to the next generation?
He was sure that Yuji would be a better Fangs of Metsudo than he was.
He guaranteed it.
With Kanoh in his own thoughts, the second round was over, but that didn't mean rest for the fighters.
For moving in huge numbers, the guardians began to storm the dome and eliminate all the bodyguards that crossed their paths.
And while all this was going on, Yuji was moving through the forest at a frightening speed, blood splattered all over his clothes, indicating the fate of the three guardians who had confronted him.
The invasion had already begun.
