____Narration____

In Yuji's mental landscape, Taira Genzan, the old man and Setsuna's former master, was sitting in the middle of the arena that the teenager used to train in.

It was strange to think that he was dead and found himself in someone else's mind, but after a while, he quickly got used to this idea. As a master who had been through all kinds of experiences, it was normal for him to adapt to this, after all, what else could he do? Mourn his death? No, he was comfortable with the idea of being dead.

'Besides, this place is not so bad, since the pains that bothered my old body are gone.' He thought as he moved his shoulders. 'I could get used to it.'

The old man cracked a small smile.

"...!"

But suddenly, Genzan felt a presence enter the arena, his instincts working as he stood up in an instant and moved into position. As unfriendly as the presence seemed, he, as an assassin, could never simply let his guard down.

The last time he had done this, his own student had murdered him.

"Oh, I'm sorry to keep you waiting here."

A familiar voice caught the old master's attention, his eyebrows raising as he saw a young figure walking toward him.

"Actually, I ended up forgetting."

Genzan cracked a small smile at the young man's carefree attitude. The person responsible for putting him on his guard was none other than the owner of the place where he was staying, Yuji Shinakawa.

It wasn't wrong to say that he was the host of that place, was it? After all, it was the boy's own mind.

'...'

The idea, as much as he had accepted it, was still rather strange to think about.

"Anyway, we have quite a bit to talk about, Mr. Genzan."

It sounds like he would have a very productive conversation.

.

Outside Yuji's mindscape, in Katahara Metsudo's private room, the old man was smoothing his beard while his attention was focused on the arena, where Kaneda and Gaolang's fight was still going on, with both fighters appearing to be arguing.

"Tell me, Tokugawa." Katahara suddenly called out, this causing Tokugawa and Erioh to look at the old man with curiosity.

"What is it, old man?" Tokugawa asked with interest.

"I heard that you brought someone with you." Old Metsudo said, this causing Erioh to raise his eyebrows in surprise. "I refrained from asking, but my curiosity has reached its limit. Tell me, who exactly came with you?"

Tokugawa was silent for a moment, a small cheeky smile appearing on his lips as he turned his head to face the two old men in the room.

"I am sure you guys know him well. He's a good friend of mine." Tokugawa bared his teeth with a big smile. "And also an amazing karate master."

"..."

The silence hung in the air for several seconds, Erioh being the first to break it when a sigh escaped his lips.

"As expected from a damn fighting madman." The patriarch of the Kure clan said as he crossed his arms. "You sure didn't bring him along just to watch with you."

"Hehe! You know me!" Tokugawa replied excitedly.

Metsudo said nothing, preferring to remain silent as he turned to look at the arena.

'It looks like this tournament is getting more and more interesting.'

.

After a few minutes of conversation, Yuji quickly became accustomed to Genzan's presence. The man was quite experienced, and he had no problem sharing some of those experiences. The man was quite pleasant, which was quite surprising since Yuji didn't think he would get along so well with the old man.

Yuji told about the annihilation tournament, and Genzan became quite interested in this, asking a few questions about the fighters. He seemed surprised at the mention of Kuroki Gensai's name, but even realizing this, Yuji decided not to delve into the subject.

"I see, so Setsuna really has gone crazy..."

After Yuji told the story he and Setsuna had, the old master seemed rather discouraged, but that didn't last long, as Genzan was quick to change the subject. He didn't seem interested in talking about his former student.

"But tell me, was he the one who taught you the Koei style?" He asked with interest, all previous discouragement seeming to disappear.

Yuji scratched his chin as he heard the question. Technically, Setsuna had taught him indirectly, since he only needed to show him the technique, and Yuji's mind did the rest of the work... The system helped with that too, but Yuji preferred not to take it into consideration.

"Well, when we fought, he used some techniques against me. I simply saw them and decided to take them for myself. Eventually in my travels I discovered that these techniques were part of the Koei style." Obviously, Yuji had lied, since he didn't want to say that thanks to a supernatural system, he naturally had basic knowledge of whatever style he learned.

Genzan, for a moment, was shocked by Yuji's response. Had he learned the techniques of the style he had tried so hard to rebuild just by observing them during combat? Was this really possible? He knew stories of prodigies able to learn any style just by observing, but this dated back hundreds of years, especially in the period when war constantly occurred.

To think that someone like that existed in such a time... It was shocking.

"I see..." But Genzan was quick to adjust to this idea. After all, he was a ghost talking to a young man in his mind. To think that someone like that could exist was by no means impossible.

In fact, Genzan was quite inclined to believe the idea that he was in that place for a reason.

And this reason was none other than to guide the boy in front of him. After all, why else would he appear in that place?

'Am I training someone to defeat you, Kuroki?' The old man thought with amusement. 'Well, I'd love that.'

"Besides...' Taira turned his attention to Yuji, who had a calm look on his face. 'I feel I have to thank this boy somehow, since with him, the Koei style seems to be in good hands.'

'With such a talented boy, the style is sure to grow.'
