"Your aunt was not against the idea of us taking you on a trip." Mokichi spoke, his usual expression on his face as he kept his arms crossed. "Mister Agito here, like me, saw potential in you, and decided to train you as well."
When he finished speaking, I watched Agito take a few steps forward, staring at me with an inexpressive face that made me swallow hard. How was I supposed to stay calm? I was face to face with the second strongest in the annihilation tournament, second only to Kuroki Gensai, and the difference between the two wasn't even that big!
"Boy, I hear you want to get strong." He spoke, sweat gathering on my forehead as I nodded. "I am willing to train you, but I have only one condition."
I frowned. I certainly wanted to get stronger, and receiving mentoring from Agito Kanoh himself would certainly do wonders for my growth, but I would not accept any condition that was imposed on me. If the condition was less than beneficial to me, I would continue training with Mokichi without any problems.
"What's the condition?" I asked, raising my head to look at Agito, who was considerably taller than me.
Without even changing his expression, Agito replied bluntly.
"You will become the next Fangs of Metsudo."
I blinked. Metsudo's fangs? The title given to the right-hand man of the president of the Kengan association? That really didn't seem like a bad thing for me, considering that I could retire at any time I wanted... But still, the candidates for this title are always complete monsters, and if memory serves me correctly, the first to receive the position was the patriarch of the Kure family...
But should I really succeed in becoming Metsudo's next prey, money would certainly not be a problem anymore, besides I could receive training from the association's bodyguards.
It was definitely not a bad condition.
"I accept." I just replied, not caring to think about it any further. If something got out of hand in the future, I would just have to find a way around it. It wouldn't be much different from what I had already been doing.
The moment I agreed, Agito nodded in satisfaction.
"But master, what kind of training trip will we take?" I asked, genuinely curious about the place I would be taken to train.
I watched Mokichi crack a nervous smile.
"In 1 month you will find out, for now, focus on passing this year of high school."

-------------------Agito Pov-------------------
When I saw the video of the Shinakawa boy's fight, I was interested in his performance. At such a young age, with such strength and technique... Even I was not that strong when I was his age, which shows his absurd talent. It seemed that the new generation was getting a rising monster, someone who could possibly stand up to the strongest living creature in the world.
Yujiro Hanma.
All the veteran fighters knew the ogre, and knew of his tendencies. If he knew of a young man with such talent, it would not take long for him to appear in the boy's life. That was the way the Ogre was.
So I asked the descendant of Shigenosuke to allow me to teach his student. I could not allow the two to meet, at least not before the boy was ready to survive him. And if Yuji became Metsudo's next prey, replacing me in a few years, I would not have to worry about my master's life being taken at the hands of the ogre, for even I could not face him.
It was no secret that Metsudo and the ogre did not have a good relationship. My master was someone who didn't care about safety, and loved the feeling of a challenge, so he refused to bow his head before the strongest living creature.
This was the reason for my first fight against the ogre, and the first defeat I had had in years. That day I was not killed only by the intervention of my master, who bowed down before him to spare my life.
On this day, my hatred for the ogre arose.
So I wouldn't let him get his hands on that boy.

After my conversation with Mokichi and Agito, I said my goodbyes as I headed home to prepare for my next Kengan fight. I would be facing a fighter known as Hassad, and honestly, I was not intimidated. His speed really was something to consider, but it was not something I should fear. As long as I kept him away from my vital points, my victory was certain.
[Congratulations! You have become strong enough that the system no longer needs to worry about the safety of the host! From this day forward, you will not earn rewards so casually! Your strengthening and survival now depend only on you!]
[The system wishes you good luck on the road to strength!]
Uh? What? Does this mean I won't get rewards for losing anymore? Well, that sucks, but it's not something I'm going to complain too much about. I knew from the beginning that earning rewards for being defeated was a strange thing, and that it would probably soon be over. It's a shame really, but it can't be helped.
'Gaining strength now depends only on me.'
With a sigh, I continued walking toward the train station.
.
When I got home, I noticed my aunt sleeping on the couch, so without disturbing her, I ate some snacks before heading to my room.
Upon entering the room, I walked to the middle of the room and sat down on the floor in the lotus position. Closing my eyes and entering a meditative state, it wasn't long before I saw myself in the middle of an arena.
"No matter how many times I do it, I'm always impressed. Image training is simply magnificent."
Looking around for a few seconds, I took a deep breath, preparing to summon some fighters that I had analyzed for my training. Since I was able to use the ability in sleep, I was able to replicate my opponents much more accurately, as long as I spent a few hours analyzing their fights. I would say that I could replicate them at least 80% of their full strength, since for me to be 100% accurate, I would need to face them.
"Okay, let's go with the first one."
Turning around, I watched a figure form a few meters away.
"My first opponent, Imai Cosmo."
The figure of a 17-year-old Imai Cosmo formed completely, him immediately adhering to a low posture.
"So you're going to start in Jiujitsu? Well, you can come. I'll join your game."
I was really surprised when I found out that Imai started fighting in Kengan matches at the age of 14, 1 year younger than me. The boy is really a prodigy, his potential may not be at Agito's level, but I wouldn't say he would be that far off.
Opening my hands and adhering to a similar posture to his, we stared at each other for several seconds. I analyzed his breathing and every movement of his body, and he seemed to be doing the same.
Boom!
In an instant, we moved at the same time, our bodies colliding hard. Grabbing his shoulder, I immediately tried to pull her down, but he was quick to stop me with a punch to my chin, the blow causing me to loosen my grip and giving him freedom to try to knock me down.
'Those are not punches of an average athlete, their strength must be at least rank SS.'
Kicking his knee, I made him retreat, quickly advancing towards him and throwing several punches, forcing him to raise his arms to defend the attacks. I didn't use Baritsu, because I didn't see the need, since with the techniques of this style, I believed I could easily end the fight, so I just played along.
If he wanted to confront me with punches, I would do the same. If he wanted to take me to the ground, I would return the intent. This would be my form of training.
With one punch to his rib, I broke his defense, causing him to groan in pain, giving me the freedom to send a punch with most of my strength towards his face.
Just as I was about to hit him, I watched him duck at the last moment, my arm going over his head as he advanced towards my leg and grabbed it, lifting me up and knocking my back to the ground.
"Ugh!" I choked, a vein popping out on my forehead. "Damn."
When he tried to mount on my abdomen, I grabbed his foot and pushed him aside with my torso, knocking him backwards onto the ground. With that, I moved toward him, narrowly dodging his foot when he tried to kick me in the face to push me away.
Opening a dangerous smile, I grabbed his foot before he could pull it back.
"It's a shame, Imai Cosmo... You are not the only dominant one on the ground."
Before he could react, I applied a leg spanner, a snap sounding, causing him to cry out in pain.
Putting more pressure on, I watched as the boy, even with the pain, stood up with his free leg, leaving my lower back elevated due to my feet being on his thigh, causing uncomfortable pressure on my body.
"What are you thinking of doing? Don't you have a Kimono for you to grab-"
A punch hit me hard on the nose, taking me completely by surprise and causing me to instinctively let go of his foot, him taking this opportunity to try to stomp my face, only for me to kick him away.
Rolling over backwards, I stood up quickly.
"Damn, I forgot he's an MMA practitioner."
I felt something wet come down my nose, wiping it quickly as I stared at Cosmo. His level of Jujitsu is probably a little higher than mine, but the difference didn't seem that big. I could probably beat him if we faced each other using only ground fighting.
"Yuji!"
About to return to the fight, my attention was taken away from the fight when a female voice sounded throughout the place.
"Uh? What's that?-"
The moment I turned my attention away from Imai, a kick hit me in the chin, my brain rattling in my skull as my vision darkened.
'Fuck...'
As I opened my eyes, I heard knocking at my door, my Auntie's voice calling me from the other side.
"Yuji, dinner is ready!"
"So that was it..." With a sigh, I got up and walked toward the door.
