Chapter 3 - the morning after

the next day I wake up feeling even more tired and exhausted than yesterday and realized that I had nothing but a bag of clothes, 2 chocolate bars, a knife, and a broken gun to my name. I took out the last bullet in the clip and put it in my pocket. I planned to save it, for what i could only guess at the time. I went back to the car and packed up as much food and drinks as I could hold since all I was gonna take was the biggest backpack I had that was a gift from my father who loved to go to army stores. I filled it up with my remaining clothes, about a dozen water bottles, around 6 sandwiches, a flashlight, and other various useful things. I then grabbed the alien robot that was still in a jar and continued onward along the road. I never realized how much I hated walking until i had to keep on doing it for 2 hours straight before I went into the forest. I just sat on the ground for 30 minutes straight trying to catch my breathe and stay out of the sun. I thought that this was gonna be the worst of it until all of a sudden I heard glass breaking, and then that alien robot that I had in a bottle just climbed onto my wrist and bit my vein before wrapping itself around my wrist as some sort of messed up wrist band. It was only 10 minutes later that I all of a sudden heard something fly by overhead but it wasn't anything i was familiar with hearing the closest thing i could associate it with was probably a fighter jet flying by really close but i still hid anyways and I just see what i could only describe as some sort of alien fighter jet that's just flying around over head and I'm having to resort to hiding in a near by cave lile hole. All I could think was "no way, they were real?" I didn't believe it, no I couldn't believe it, I didn't want to but reality showed me that I had to believe it because now I had to find out how to survive against them.
