For over a week, four of the ten Senior Mutants, along with Tamsin and Xanthe, had put the Junior Mutants and Normals through rigorous training sessions that would have injured, crippled, paralyzed, or even killed a layman.
With the Mutant Fight approaching very quickly, the Juniors were pushed beyond their limits. The ones who had it the worst, to no one's surprise, were the poor Normals whose bodies weren't blessed with regenerative properties.
Jamal, Nadia, and Kalisa had suffered physically and mentally at the hands of Tamsin, the most cruel of the sisters. The woman had taken it upon herself to stretch and pull these three Normals beyond their capabilities as a way to prepare their bodies for the prosthetics they made specifically for them.
