Chapter 41 - [Bonus chapter]CH41:MANE'S GAMEPLAN.

[Central Desper]

[Police Headquarters]

While the Gorillas were discussing new ways on how to face the challenges ahead of them and planned on what changes they needed to establish, the Assistant Chief, Michael Mane, also had plans of his own. Currently, he ordered all the field operative units, rescue units, riot units, and fighter units to report to HQ for an "important debrief." However, given the current size of HQ, the meeting was moved to the city's largest sports arena. About 600,000 units, in total, showed up, and each one of them wondered why they were called off duty. Already enraged by how the mayor betrayed Chief Prince, they were disgusted when they learned that the new chief was responsible for such a large gathering.

"Anyone have any idea why we've been called in?"

"Perhaps the stupid mayor wanted to announce another insane plan he's undertaking."

"You may be right. I saw his hover vehicle parked outside, but I also saw the trucks that carried robot units to different parts of the city."

"Attention, men and women of great honor," the speakers in the arena boomed as Mane blasted his voice into the microphone. "First of all, I appreciate all of you for taking time off your duties and being here with us today. You will come to learn that I have some great news to share with you."

"Given that the former chief, Damian Prince, is no longer commanding our city's fine police force," the mayor continued, "I made a critical decision by making his assistant fill in his position for the time being. In this short time that he's been in office, Mane has already come up with a brilliant strategy to bring crime to a complete halt across our city and beyond."

The police units murmured and mumbled in disbelief as they anxiously waited to hear what their new chief had to say. While they were waiting, the rooftop of the arena started to close shut as a wide holographic screen appeared before everyone's eyes. The screen played out a short intro that read, [4045 Police Budget and Planning. Executed and approved by Chief Mane.]

"Ladies and Gentlemen," the presentation began to play out, "our fine city Desper is under threat again by our many enemies." Slide shows of the Gorillas, other smaller gangs, the Dragons, and Neveah showed as the presentation continued. "As Chief of Police, I've taken drastic measures to ensure that we keep Desper safe and at the same time allow the citizens to have trust in us."

"They already had trust in us when Prince was the chief!!" One officer barked. Suddenly, a man covered in a never-before-seen suit of technologically advanced armor ziplined from the rooftop and silenced the officer by using a taser on him until he lost consciousness. The man's suit was similar to that of a Halo soldier, with slight differences in its visors, which were slimmer and black in color. The remainder of the suit was painted in a matte black color with its trims being red. The chest plate had the letter D1 engraved, with a beast crystal neatly crafted in the insides of it. The back of the armor had two matte black streamlined staffs, which were connected to the inside of the suit. Lastly, mounted on the back of the man's armor was a large, powerful blaster, and on his sides were smaller handguns, all powered by beast crystals.

"I'm glad you've had a chance to encounter our latest units." Mane chuckled as the hologram showed a graphical image of the same suit the armored unit had on. "I introduce to you the future of security. Meet the dystopian unit, hence the reason for the 'D' on his chest. Proofread:

"There are exactly six levels to these armor sets," said Mane as images of six suits, each slightly different in design, were displayed. "Please listen as the suits' designs are explained."

The Dystopian armor suits vary in design but all have similar functions as follows:

- Strength and Durability: The Dystopian armor greatly enhances the wearer's strength and durability, allowing them to survive falls from great heights, withstand heavy artillery fire, and lift objects much heavier than the wearer would be able to without the armor.

- Energy Shield: The armor also includes a personal energy shield, which can absorb and deflect incoming projectiles, as well as mitigate damage from other sources. The shield gradually regenerates over time, depending on the tier of the crystal they have.

- Heads-Up Display (HUD): The helmet of the suit features a computerized heads-up display (HUD), which provides the wearer with tactical information about their surroundings, as well as targeting data for weapons systems.

- Integrated Weapons Systems: The suit can integrate with a variety of weapons and provide enhanced targeting and firing capabilities. For example, the suit's onboard AI, Dystopia, can help the wearer aim and fire weapons more accurately.

- Thrusters: The suit also includes thrusters at the back of the legs and under the glutes for increased mobility on the ground and in the air.

- Active Camouflage: Some versions of the suit include active camouflage, allowing the wearer to blend into their surroundings and remain hidden from enemies for a limited amount of time, depending on the suit's power level.

"There are six units of these Dystopian suits, with one being the lowest, and six being the highest. Each comes with its own colors: One-Mate Black; Two-Navy Blue; Three-Dark Green; Four-Deep Red; Five-Red-Yellow; Six-White."

"Now that you've all got a basic understanding, here's the new game plan," Mane added. "All units are going to undergo extensive training throughout the course of the week in order to grasp what else I have in store. As we speak, all the robotic units have been dismantled for these suits to be made. Furthermore, each one of you will work for their right to upgrade to a higher suit. As for now, you'll all start with D1 units and will receive further training for the other units. No questions will be answered, and the training begins now. Report to your respective dispatch zones to receive further instructions."

The arena's rooftop opened up as Mane, the mayor, and other officers left to proceed with the new plan. To others, it was too abrupt, sudden, and lacked proper explanation. This made them feel confused and angrier at Mane. Those who were quick listeners chose to put their feelings aside and dispersed to their respective areas where they'd receive further instructions.

"Excellent," Mane said to himself with a smirk on his face. "First phase is in motion. I'll prove to Desper that I am as good of a chief as Prince was, maybe even better."
