Finally, all joy and hope returned to Desper. The number of Nightshade sightings dropped completely, thanks to the famous vigilante known as Bear Claws. Sightings, rumors, and videos of his 'heroic feats' circulated across the city.
Those who had heard of Bear Claws cheered for him, relieved to see someone other than the Police and Military taking action against the issue that had claimed over forty lives. Moreover, they were pleased that it was a Mutant from Desper involved, rather than a Neveahian official trying to play 'hero' in a land where they didn't belong.
Amidst the triumphant chants and cheers for Bear Claws, the Mutants from Neveah were left in confusion, having no idea who the mysterious vigilante was. Since Bear Claws was last sighted a few weeks before the Neveahians arrived, not much was said about him, making his sudden reappearance quite odd yet much needed.
