He never loved me but I pictured my future with him. I pictured how our lives will be. Simple and full with love and happiness. All that shattered when I saw the picture. However, I've moved on. No man will charm me again. I'm not naive like before. I know it when a guy is being fake.
The red lights turns green and I moved forward to continue driving. All of a sudden, I heard a loud bang on my car. Thank God I was wearing seat belt.
What the hell? I got out of the car to go see what happened. A gasp left my lips seeing the damage on my car. The car I bought last week. The car I used all my savings on. I turned to the motorcycle that hits my car. The person standing beside it wore all black and an helmet. I tried not to shout on top on my lungs. After all, I'm in the middle of the road.
"Mr Man, don't you have eyes or don't you know how to drive" I commenced as calm as I can.
He only stood there. I don't know whether he was looking at the damage he did or practically keeping quite. I couldn't tell since he's still wearing on his helmet. All of a sudden, the side light fell. Which pissed me off.
I closed my eyes and opened them again. "Am I talking to a sane person or a mute" I said again.
"If you know how hard I worked to get this car, you wouldn't have neared your cheap motorcycle anywhere near mine" I don't think his motorcycle will even buy the side mirror of my car talk less of the car itself.
I watched as he removed the helmet off his face. And for a moment, I lost the voice in me. The way he stares me down, sent electricity down my core. I would have to admit, he's handsome. But I didn't dwell on how I found his eyes piercing through the soul or how his black hair was gleaming. I won't forget he was the cause of my car damage.
"Is your mouth glued or-"
"I heard all what you said"
Oh God! Here comes his voice. Something screams dangerous with the way he stared at me. I was supposed to be the one doing the staring.
"If you heard what I said, why didn't you speak up. Is the road not enough for you to drive. Why would you have to hit my car" I said folding my arms across my chest.
For some seconds, I gave him a second glance whether I heard what he said correctly or not. "This is not something to raise voice. Besides, I wasn't entirely at fault. You chose not to move forward when the red light turns green"
Did he literally say I chose not to move forward?
"Excuse me, maybe you have a poor eyesight. But immediately the red light changes to green, I moved my car but then you hit my car. And talking of fault, you're completely at fault here. This damage is not a minor damage as you can see" I said accessing the car.
"Or maybe you do"
"What?" I said not believing he's actually insulting me.
"I don't have time to waste on crazy things" he ushered taking out a card from his pocket. "Here. Bring your car to this address and it will be fixed. But mind you, we're splitting the damage. 50/50"
My eyes shifted from him back to the card that was outstretched waiting for me to take. "Did you just call me crazy?" I asked an annoyed chuckle making it's way out of me.
"If that's what you take it as then so be it" Before I could process what was happening, I reached for my hand that was secured by my side and slid the card. "All the best" He said hopping on his motorcycle and drove away. I was left standing like a clueless human being eyes on the card.
What just happened?
**
The moment I set my foot inside the living room, I was attacked by questions from Mom. "Elise dear, how was the dance class? Hope you've learnt something"
"Did Vanessa compliments you?" She bombard all at once.
"Mom please" I said making my way up. I don't think I have enough strength to listen to her talks. Not after what I experienced.
"I'm talking to you and you're walking away. This-"
"Cut her some slack Naomi" I heard my father's voice. I didn't even know he was home. My head is already clouded with heavy things.
Upon entering my room, I went strength to the bathroom and took a warm shower. Changed into a light gown. "He literally called me a crazy person" It was then his voice are repeating themselves in my head. I'm still trying to understand what I encountered. He hit my car and called me a crazy person. Something is surely wrong with the man. He's not okay in the head. I'm sure of it.
I grabbed my bag and took out the car. "Devine Automobile" I hushed out.
He thinks he can insult me and get away with it. I will show him how crazy of a person I am. I was exhausted from all the events and places I went to. But, I won't let this one pass. It's better to solve it while it's hot. I took my phone and my car keys and descend down. Mom and Dad were still seated where I left them. "Where are you going again?" Mom asked.
I marched forward and pecked Dad on the cheeks. "Sorry Dad I didn't know you were back"
"It's okay dear. By the way, where are you heading to?" He asked. Mom was already throwing daggers at me for ignoring her.
"I will explain everything to you guys later. For now think of it I'm going for a war" Mom's eyes went wide at my outburst. I didn't wait for her as I sauntered out. My day will skyrocket from grass to crazy.
