Jesse got home the next day to meet his brother, Vy; the Alpha of the Southern Pack. Vy was a lanky man. He had silk brown hair with a tint of blonde by the tips. He was in the kitchen getting his breakfast ready,
"Ah, Jesse, you're back. How was the party?" Vy asked his junior brother excitedly, as he carried his cup of tea and a piece of bread in his mouth.
"It was chill," Jesse said as he hung his car keys. He paused before he said,
"Brother, any words from the Northern pack yet?"
"Words on what?" Vy asked confusedly.
"Mathew Fonsi? The stray wolf? Who came to join our pack before the summer." Jesse said trying to make his brother remember.
"Oh, Matthew, who had conflictions with the human Collins Kruger?" Vy said, recalling the event.
"Yeah, exactly. I met with them yesterday." Jesse said.
"What did you guys discuss?" Vy asked as he sipped his cup of tea, eager to know what went down.
"I was getting closer to know whether he was shunned by the Northern pack, or he is actually who he said he was. Just a stray wolf." Jesse said.
"But, what happened?"
"We were interrupted, by a human. And I've never seen her before."
Vy was agape at the utterance of Jesse's words. He asked Jesse what he thought the human could be doing in their city,
"I have no idea. But she seemed oblivious to what we were, and the type of people she'd find in this city." Jesse said.
"Do you know where she came from originally?" Vy asked curiously.
"No, that dick head Indigo ruined my moment," Jesse said with disdain.
"Seems like he hasn't had enough," Vy said as they both laughed, mocking Indigo.
...
Carmen stood at Indigo's bedroom door, demanding that Indigo opened it. He refused, and then she told him that he was aware that she could break his door. That was when he stood up and opened the door and flung himself back on his bed as he groaned,
"What?! Mom."
"Are you fucking crazy, Indigo? How could you say that!" Carmen yelled at her son. She had a high-pitched voice.
"I said a lot, so?" Indigo said carelessly, as he tossed a football (soccer) up and down.
"Indigo, I seriously don't know what is wrong with you. I'm sure you've lost Sandra this time for good!" Carmen said worriedly.
"I don't need her! Who the fuck does she think she is? New girl, new town, everyday trouble, because she's supposedly my best friend, and probably, the only friend I've ever had." Indigo said almost to tears because he knew he messed up.
"Oh, Indigo," Carmen said as she went over to his bed and hugged him warmly.
"I fucked up, I know. We should have never gone to that party without telling her mom." Indigo said sorrowfully.
"It's not your fault Inny, Helen's just an overprotective mother. I can imagine, after having to deal with the horrible death of her son." Carmen said as she shook her head lamenting.
"Sandra had a brother?" Indigo asked, he was surprised.
"Sandra didn't tell you?" Carmen found it odd that Sandra did not tell Indigo about her dead brother. But she couldn't blame her because those kinds of things are hard to tell.
"Well, If she didn't tell you then I won't tell you. When she's ready to tell you she'll tell you." Carmen said as she patted Indigo on his back and left his room.
...
Meanwhile, at Sandra's, she was getting the scold of her life.
"..mom, I said I'm sorry!" She apologized at the top of her voice, in tears, only aggravating the matter.
"Go to your room, Sandra!" Helen yelled. She was furious while Andrew tried to calm her down. Andrew went over to Sandra; drenched in her tears, and he told her calmly to go to her room.
"But dad, I said I'm sorry." Sandra looked at her dad deep into his eyes. Her dad could tell that she was truly sorry and that she didn't mean for any of what was happening to happen. He told her that everything was going to be alright. Sandra left for her baby brother's room; Micheal.
"Baby, Sandra's just a kid." Andrew pleaded on her behalf.
"She's 16! Obviously, she can think for herself. She can differentiate between right and wrong." She complained.
"Babe, tell me you didn't do something like that when you were a teen?"
"That's a good comeback Andrew, but still," Helen said firmly.
"Just cut her a little slack babe. I've never seen her cry like that for some months now. I can see that she's gonna be happy here."
After many contemplations, Helen decided to forgive Sandra,
"Come here," Andrew said, as he grabbed his wife closer to him and kissed her. They talked in between as they kissed,
"It's been such a long time honey," Andrew said.
"I know babe," Helen said.
They were in too deep, Andrew was already taking off Helen's top when she stopped him,
"Babe, not here!?" She cautioned him as she adjusted her top.
"You're right. Now, go talk to our little warrior."
...
Sandra was in her brother's room, she played with her brother and his toys.
"Swoosh!" She said, carrying an aeroplane toy and flying it over his head. He bursts out laughing uncontrollably.
Then she carried a little monster toy, rubbed it against his tummy and said with a cartoony voice,
"I'm gonna eat you, watch out!"
Michael continued laughing then she carried him and said to him,
"When you become a teen, try not to be like your elder sister. Cause she's a-" Just as Sandra was about to finish what she wanted to say, her mother stepped in and said, "She's my little warrior. Although she can be stubborn, but I love her. And when you become a big boy Mikey, I want you to be just like your elder sister."
Sandra was surprised to hear what her mother has just said. "Oh, mom." She said as she hugged her mom in tears. "I love you, Sandra. Next time, I'd appreciate it if you tell me everything. Okay?" Helen said as she caressed her daughter's hair. Then Sandra looked up at her mom with tears in her eyes and said, "I promise you, mom, I will never keep anything away from you again."
Helen kissed her daughter lightly on her forehead then she said to her, "I heard about you and Indigo's not-so-little arguments." Sandra groaned and then indicating a lack of concern, she said, "I said I'd never keep anything away from you not make peace with Indigo." Helen corrected Sandra by saying, "Come on, I never said that. I just wanted to know you guys' current status."
Helen let go of Sandra then she said, "Well, how can I say we're no longer friends anymore without saying we're no longer friends anymore."
"Ya no somos amigos," Helen said in Spanish. They both laughed then Sandra said as she smirked "Your Spanish is top notch mom." Shortly, Andrew came in to see his wife and his daughter talking again. He smiled then he decided to cut their moment, "Barbecue outside tonight." As soon as he said it, Micheal started jumping and clapping. They all laughed at Micheal.
Then Helen asked if Mrs Carmen could join them, Sandra was reluctant to let her join them because she wasn't in the talking phase with Indigo. "We exchanged words that we probably regret by now," Sandra said as she bit her nails. "You better apologize, Sandra, before you both regret it." Her father advised her. "Why am I the one to apologize? He was the one that caused all of this in the first place." Sandra was having it with her parents.
"Sandra, my baby, it's not about blaming each other or placing faults on one another. It's about accepting the fact that what you both have is a beautiful friendship. One of a kind." Her father said.
"In the sense that you both are sets of weird, introverted teens." Helen jeered. "Hey!!" Sandra yelled wearing a rather offended look on her face. Then her father explained further saying, "I think what your mother's trying to say is that what you and Indigo have going is very difficult to find." Sandra was willing to apologize to Indigo until she remembered what he said,
**"Oh, on my life?! Good thing I can't die!! Because the second you feel lonely, in need of a fucking friend, you'll come back here, wanting me all over again!!!"
Nah, I'm not apologizing! She said to herself as she shook her head.
