Previously, Miles was not the thin and well-built man he is today. He was just a fat student and his face was covered by the ends of his hair. The reason people bullied Miles was simply because he came from a noble family and those who bullied him were also from the aristocratic class. They would force Miles to do things he didn't want and even ask the man for money.
Luckily that day, Luke was about to walk towards the back gate and saw what was happening to Miles. Luke quickly helped Miles who was being bullied even though he knew that those in front of Luke were nobles.
Even though in the 15th district academy people didn't look at status but, the difference was still felt. Some arrogant nobles committed terrible acts towards the commoners and people could only ignore it. They seemed to think that the incident was just a natural thing. They were forced to do so because of the difference in status.
