Chapter 251 - Conversation with Alur

The guards who accompanied us approached Alur, telling him that there were no dangerous situations; after listening to them, he waved his hand, allowing them to return to the rest of the squad.

- So nothing happened, maybe you really are not dangerous. - Captain Alur said with a chuckle as he examined us.

I didn't understand what Father Auel wanted to say with this. Looking around, I looked for the professor, but she was nowhere to be found.

Observing that I was looking for someone, Alur chuckled and, attracting my attention, pointed his hand upward to one of the windows from where the light was visible.

- We were waiting for you, now that the stufon and the professor in the hotel are not in danger of the city. - Captain Alur said in a joking voice as he prepared to leave.

Putting my hand on his shoulder, attracting his attention again, I asked him to come with us to the room so that I could tell him everything I know about his daughter.

The captain immediately changed his face, fear was visible in his eyes and his playful grin was gone. Walking into the hotel and receiving the key to our room, to our surprise, Keirin and I had one room.

Going up to our floor, Father Auel kept his distance from us; it was clear from his behavior that he was worried that he might hear information about his daughter.

Having gone into the room and making sure that there was no one in there, I called on the darkness that surrounded us, the captain's gaze was replaced by fear, he tried to leave the room, but the darkness did not allow him to leave.

- Don't worry, neither I nor my magic will harm you. - I turned in a soothing voice to Alur, who I found near the door. - Do you want to hear about your daughter and your former deputy?

Having heard again about his daughter but also about his missing deputy, Alur moved away from the wall and trying to give himself calm and walking past us without taking his eyes off me in which there were different emotions, he sat down on a chair and looked at me expectantly.

- Your daughter Auel and your deputy Ru'El are both alive and together. - Raising his hand, seeing that the captain wanted to ask a question, interrupting him. - They will live together in the forest with others who escaped from the power of your baron.

It was clear how Captain Alur's face changed with every word I said; he lost control of himself and tears flowed from his eyes.

He tried to erase them, but they continued to walk. Keirin, who stood next to me, handed over the cloth, which the captain took and applied to his face.

- Why didn't they come back? If it was because of Ru'El's escape, then the major understood his aspirations and they could return without fear of punishment for him. - Alur said in a shocked voice. - What kind of people are you talking about? About robbers?

Turning her gaze to Keirin, who saw the question in my eyes and only shook her head, she understood that of the two of us, she spent more time with her daughter Alura.

- They will not return, at least not now, your daughter has experienced a lot of terrible things in this forest. - Keirin said in a quiet voice, moving her eyes through the darkness. - Now she needs a place where she will feel calm next to Ru'El.

With his head down, Alur hunched over and his shoulders trembled under the armor that hid his body.

He tried to find a way to refute the words of the light elf, but there were none; everything that was in the city would remind her of what she had to go through.

- The people I'm talking about are those who escaped from the rule of your baron from the villages into the forest. - As I answered, I felt anger at the Baron rising within me. - They live in the capital of the departed avel race and it's safe there. I hope we don't need to say that you can't talk about what we just told you?

Father Auel looked up at us and looked from me to Keirin and nodded silently, different emotions flashed in his eyes.

He understood that he would have to support the story that he knew nothing about the fate of his daughter and his former deputy.

- I understand the need to hide this information, thank you for telling me. - Alur said in a quiet voice, rising from his chair. - I failed to protect her here, but as a parent I will try to protect her by not telling anyone what you told.

Canceling the dome of darkness, allowing the captain to leave, it was clear that no matter how hard he tried to hold on, his movement became slower and, hunched over, he left the room, leaving us to look at the door through which he left the room.

We did not tell him that among the robbers there was also the son of the baron of these lands; this news could force Alur to make mistakes.

Sighing and looking around more carefully, the room looked richer than the one we stayed in in Lanha, but like there there was only one bed in the room.

Smirking, was this a joke from Professor Ni'Lim or did the hotels really only have single rooms. Keirin just shook her head; it was clear from her gaze that she was thinking much like I was about our situation.

Turning away, allowing the light elf to change clothes, who expressed her dissatisfaction due to the fact that there was only one bed.

Exchanging glances at which of us would go first to cool off under the water, the girl chuckled and went to swim first; the sounds of water were heard, which continued for a long time.

I was wondering how long does she plan to swim? I heard footsteps and the door opened, standing in front of me was Keirin, still wet in places.

Her wet hair fell from her shoulders, the white sleepwear she had changed into had the imprudence to show through in some places on Keirin's body, my gaze unconsciously focused on these places.

The girl, catching my gaze, covered her face with her hand and laughed, leading me out of the trap of what was barely visible.

- Oh Trey, you have a wife and you're staring at your servant. - Keirin said in a playful, serious voice. - Wait, you have a second wife, my sister! Do you want to have me too?

Laughing, I shook my head and silently walked into the room from which the girl came out, taking off the harbinger, I saw my burned part of my body.

The smell of the light elf was still felt in the room; running my whole hand over the burnt part of my hand, I felt my touch felt more sharply than on the other hand, which was not damaged by the fire.

I was interested and at the same time scared how Cassandra would react when she saw what I had become.

Some of my burns were covered with a crust that took on the appearance of a wyvern's fire and from a distance looked like a drawing.

Turning on the water and lowering my head, I felt the water burn the part of my body where the burns were, at that moment I felt different emotions.

Running my hand over my head, I felt a crust appear at the site of the burn, sighed and turned off the water.

Looking around, I didn't notice anything with which to dry myself. Now I better understood why some parts of the body were visible in Keirin's night clothes.

Taking fabrics out of storage and drying myself, I felt better, dressed back in the harbinger and giving it a comfortable form for sleeping, I went back into the room where the light elf was sitting on the bed with a grin looking in my direction.

- The bed is bigger than last time, Trey, where are you planning to sleep? - Keirin asked, pointedly showing the places where I had previously looked. -Or don't you want to sleep?

Ignoring the girl's jokes, walking around her and climbing onto the bed under the blanket, I heard Keirin's laughter.

Without waiting for any reaction from me, the girl turned off the light and lay down next to me, her scent surrounded me, turning my back to her, I felt how she pressed herself against me and I fell deeper and deeper into sleep.

Waking up from a loud knock on the door, I felt that Keirin had also woken up, getting out of bed and looking around, it was clear that a new day had already arrived.

Looking at the sleepy expression on the face of the light elf, who was warily looking towards the door from where the sounds were coming. Because we heard someone in armor standing outside the door, did Father Aueli come?
