Chapter 172 - Battles in the camp

The robbers were sitting near the fire, talking, waiting for how long Rual would return with the rest of the robbers whom he took in the attacks.

There were no more than ten robbers left in the camp, only two of them were strong enough to repel the attack of possible monsters.

The rest were either weak magicians, or mortals who joined the gang after some time.

- Do you think there will be new pillows for us? - Asked one of the robbers from the side, you could see that one of his eyes was covered with a bandage.

The rest laughed when they heard the question of the dark elf with a bandage. Everyone knew that even if there was someone, they would first pass through the hands of Rual or his deputy.

- You know the rules, Ufil, why are you asking stupid questions? - The man asked in a quiet voice of a dark elf whose name was Ufil.

It was heard how Ufil gritted his teeth, all the new girls passed through the leader of the gang and his deputy. In the meantime, they were busy with new pillows, the old ones were given to any of the gang.

- I remember, but I'm tired of using those whom Rual broke! - Ufil said irritably, kicking firewood that crackled from the fire.

Sighs of understanding were heard from those who were sitting near the fire. Everyone knew that Rual did not hold back and broke those whom he brought, and although they were still warm, there was no sparkle in their eyes.

- We should be glad that Pelori doesn't break his own. - Overheard a lisping voice from the other side.

Everyone turned their gaze to the speaker, he was a guy with short blond hair and gray eyes. His handsome face did not suit this place, nor did his rich clothes in which he sat near the fire.

Many have heard of him as the son of a baron of this land. Rual, like this guy, did not go into the details of the agreement between the baron and the leader of the gang.

- You Jorin also get someone when they come with new ones. - Ufil spat out, addressing the guy.

The robbers did not understand what the reason for such an attitude towards this bastard, except for his father.

Hearing the words, the young man wanted to say something, but noticed a strangeness around them. Frowning.

He looked around and saw only the darkness around him, raising his head up Yorin did not see the usual sky and the stars on it. Lowering his head to the other robbers, he silently raised his hand pointing to the sky.

The robbers, not understanding what he meant, raised their heads and, like Jorin, did not see the sky or the stars, shock from what they saw was visible on their faces.

Getting close enough we saw we heard them talking near the fire. We were not noticed yet, so we decided to listen to the conversations, but to our regret, everything revolved around those robbers who attacked the caravan.

And I saw the son of the baron who was sitting facing me, it was strange for me to see someone from the nobility in the lair of these robbers.

Looking over to Keirin who was holding back from attacking them immediately, placing a hand on her shoulder and squeezing it.

Feeling my touch, she turned to me, examining her, I saw that she had already put the daggers back into storage and was holding her sword in her hands.

Nodding to her, I covered the entire camp with a dome and began to call on the tormentors. To my surprise, the baron's son raised his head and saw the dome before our attack. If he wasn't stupid, he knew something was going on here.

My hopes of concealing our presence as long as possible proved futile. Taking out the sword and shield from the vault, I ordered the tormentors to attack the other robbers who were in the tents.

- Who is there? Show yourself! - I heard the voice of the son of the baron in which confidence in his abilities was heard.

Exchanging glances with Keirin, we smiled, if we didn't have to hide, then it's even better for us, we could test our strength. Slowly moving away from the tent behind which we stood, we came closer, they already saw us.

- You got lost and came to the bandit camp, you have problems with luck! - The son of the baron spoke in an arrogant voice, looking at us.

He expected us to try to run away, but instead we smiled at him, I saw how he did not take his eyes off Keirin.

- Come here, light elf, I'll take care of you if you're obedient, you might even like it. - Yorin said smiling and extending his hand forward to Keirin.

Watching and seeing the behavior of this guy, I had disgust for him, at first I wanted to kill him quickly, but my plans changed. They mistook our silence for our fear, and the rest of the robbers began to grin more and more.

- Keirin leave it to me, but let's deal with the others first. - I turned to her with undisguised joy in my voice.

I saw how the baron's son frowned, but a smirk remained on his face, looking around at the others who shared his thoughts that we were only trying to scare.

The baron's son attacked first, aiming his sword at my head, but his movements were too slow for me.

Without much difficulty, I repulsed his blow, surprise was visible in his eyes, but without paying attention to him, I went on.

Going further than the son of the baron, a one-eyed dark half-elf appeared in front of me holding a pair of daggers in his hands. Making quick movements in my direction, I fought them off with a sword and shield.

Steel on steel was heard to my left. I didn't have time to look at who Keirin was fighting. My opponent was quite cunning, he tried to use my shield as an opportunity to strike at my shoulder and unprotected my side.

But his dagger rested against my harbinger armor, I noticed his surprised look. And taking advantage of his confusion, he struck the sword on his outstretched hand.

Feeling the sword pierce through his flesh and break bones as I continued to force the sword into his hand, I heard him scream.

Feeling how the sword became free, I quickly looked down and saw the severed hand of the dark elf.

Looking at the elf, I saw how he tried to move away from me and pressed his whole hand to the severed one, putting the dagger forward.

I could see from his one eye that it was hard for him to accept that he had lost a limb in the first seconds of the fight. I heard the battle to my left and the men's yells, I had no reason to worry about Keirin.

We haven't used magic yet, but our opponents were already in trouble. In the look of the dark elf, I read that he wants to run away from the way he looked around. His face froze in incomprehension why no one came out of the tents to help them.

Heading towards him, I lowered the blade to the ground and intercepted the shield more conveniently and directed it at the dark elf.

Taking quick steps, I was in front of him and hit the shield on the blade of the dagger. Feeling through the shield a blow against the steel of the dagger and raising his sword from the bottom up.

Feeling through the hilt, how the sword began to pass first through something soft and then briefly rests against something, applying force, directing the hilt upwards.

Hearing a quiet crunch and the blade was free. Lowering the shield a little lower, I examined the dark elf and his deep wound going from the abdomen up to the chest from which blood flowed in a large stream. Looking up at his face, on which disbelief froze, and life began to fade in the whole eye.

And watching him fall on his back with that frozen expression, I shifted my gaze to the sounds of battle.

My companion fought against the last robber and their battle was coming to an end. She did not need my help and I went to the baron's son who was still lying after I pushed him away.

Heading towards him with slow steps, I saw how he began to move and tried to rise, resting his hands on the ground.

His head was spinning in search of help, but she was nowhere to be found. Hearing my steps, he looked at me, I saw in his eyes that he still did not understand what had happened, everything was too fast for him.
