Chapter 134 - Attacks on the caravan

The bandit chuckled, everything went as usual merchants accustomed to the fact that everything is done by someone else's hands are rarely ready to do something themselves if it does not benefit them.

After a couple of minutes, a carriage hung with shields was visible and had a different color externally, it was controlled by one of the guards, unlike the center where there was a charioteer, there were experienced magicians and swordsmen who changed in turn. And while one was driving the carriage, the others were resting inside. The robbers, accustomed to dealing with magicians who guarded the caravans, relaxed everything went as they needed.

The robber watched as the carriage with the guards stopped and the charioteer stopped next to the third carriage after knocking a couple of times on the wall of the carriage, he let go of the reins and descended to the ground. Approaching closer to the first carriage, the robber examined the guard it was a young light elf, but in addition to his youth, he was dressed in a robe with a coat of arms. After looking closely, he recognized the coat of arms of one of the academy. Mentally thinking how lucky they were, it was easiest to deal with the Stufons because of their lack of experience in battle, they were easy prey for robbers accustomed to battle.

- What happened here? - The light elf's interested voice was heard.

The robber pointed to a cart that was standing in the middle of the road, preventing it from going around, it was visible how other companions of the robber were trying to fix the wheel.

- Will you help the mortals push the cart so that we don't interfere with your passage? - The robber turned respectfully, looking at the elf.

He saw the contempt flash in the eyes of the light elf when the robber called himself a mortal. Mortals were dust for magicians not worth even a glance of them, so nodding the magician went safely to the wagon. By this time, other carriages began to stop behind the guard carriage, the robber counted at least ten carriages, which means that the whole caravan was in their hands.

- Are you planning to stand there for a long time and wait for me to solve your problem for you? - The elf snapped irritably, looking over his shoulder.

Trying to pretend that he was ashamed of his behavior, the robber went after the light elf. The young light elf could not see, but the mortal behind him was grinning rapaciously at the back of the arrogant magician.

- I'm on my way, Mr. Magician, sorry for the delay. - Said the robber heading for the cart.

Giving a sign with his fingers to his accomplices that everything is going according to plan, seeing that they nod and move away from the sides and begin to pretend that they are helping the elf to push. But instead, one of those who pushed pressed the cart to the ground, not allowing it to move. It could be seen how the light elf was becoming more and more annoyed that he could not push the cart.

- Stupid cart, now I'll call another magician, the two of us should be enough to push it off the road. - The light elf said irritably, turning and heading for the guard carriage.

Listening to him, the robbers could not help but grin, just what they wanted to kill the leading guard, it would be as a sign for the others to attack the rest of the caravan. Watching as the light elf returns to the carriage he was driving and opening the door inside the carriage and communicating with someone by talking to someone and stepping aside allowing someone to get out from the outside. The robbers watched the dark elf approaching them, they could see that he was also a stufon.

- You couldn't move this junk? - Kier said mockingly, glancing at Olu'nier.

These were two friends of Fel who were identified at the beginning of the caravan, the robbers did not know that there were two more guards inside the carriage. Usually the caravans were accompanied by a total of six or seven guards, very rarely more, but robbers did not attack such caravans for fear of magicians who accompanied such caravans. They couldn't be fooled like the stoofons in front of them.

- Shut up, if you want to try to touch her yourself, since you're such a strong man. - Olu'nier snapped back, glancing at his friend.

Laughing at Olu'nier's reactions, the dark elf approached and tried to push the cart, but nothing came of it, he looked at the carriage uncomprehendingly, he could not believe that such an old cart resisted him.

- It's strange, but maybe you're not as useless as it may seem, help me push her off. - Kjer turned to the light elf.

The robbers were expecting this, and when the light elf approached the wagon, the robber who was holding her imperceptibly began to remove his magic from the wagon and slide towards the ravine.

- Well, the mortals themselves will cope with everything further. - Olu'nier turned irritably to the robbers.

Without listening to their confirmation, he and Kier turned around and wanted to go to the carriage. But they felt pain in the chest area incomprehensibly, they looked down at their chest in which metal was visible from which blood was dripping, they did not understand how simple steel could penetrate the academy's uniform.

Trying to scream, they both felt someone squeezing their necks hard and after a couple of seconds they lost consciousness. The robbers did not want to kill two Stufons at once for no particular reason and attract the attention of the director of their academy, unlike the baron of these lands, nothing would prevent her from tracking down their camp and destroying everyone there in revenge for the murder of stufons.

- It was easier than I thought, drag them to the cart when they come to their senses, we won't be here anymore. - The man who communicated with Olu'ner ordered his accomplices.

Listening to the accomplice's command, the remaining two only irritably kicked the dark elf in the face. Having thrown the light and dark elf into the cart, they armed themselves with their swords. The one who spoke to the merchant was armed with a dagger, going to the merchant with whom he had communicated earlier, portraying fear on his face, he showed fears when he went to the merchant who did not take his eyes off him.

- Dear merchant, I apologize for the fact that we detained you, your guard became ill, they will lie in the cart. - Addressing the merchant, the bandit came closer and closer.

Approaching him and being near to strike, he pulled a dagger out of his sleeve and hit the merchant in the throat and with the other hand hit the coachman, killing both on the spot. Then whistling loudly, it was a sign and arrows flew out of the forest mixed with different spells. The merchants looked on uncomprehendingly as their caravan was covered with various spells and bandits were approaching them.

The one who communicated with the merchant in the first carriage went on, but an unpleasant surprise awaited him. A light elf came to meet him. After examining her, he realized that unlike those stufons, she was an experienced magician.

He threw the daggers in different directions, he went to the light elf wanting to shorten the distance by stabbing one dagger into the left side of the elf and he held the other dagger behind his back, waiting for a good moment.

Fege was at the beginning of the caravan together with another guard, a dark elf whose name was Yehil, but what was their surprise when a dark and light elf arrived to them, who were also stufons. Having decided among themselves that Yehil and Fege will be in the carriage and the stufons will change among themselves.

Stephanie willingly agreed to the offer of more experienced guards, introducing themselves, they learned a lot about this couple, especially their reason for appearing in this caravan, this was a human girl from the nobility whose name was Fel. They didn't see her, which meant either she was in the middle with a half-elf and his servant or with the head of the guard.

When the carriage stopped, Fege discussed with Yehel further plans after escorting this caravan. Expecting the carriage to move on, but a couple of minutes later, Olu'nor returned and asked his friend to come out to help push the cart off the road.

Fege and Yehil tensed but did not say anything to the stufons, expecting that they would not be able to keep these concerns to themselves. When the stufons did not return, their fears began to sound a strong alarm, after exchanging glances, Fege got out of the carriage and went to the first carriage to see what was happening and saw a bandit who was walking in her direction.
