Chapter 30 - Going shopping

So tomorrow will be the last test, I had to prepare for it, otherwise a small mistake will lead to failure, which I did not want. After thinking about where I should go, I decided to go shopping in the city first to buy the necessary things such as a tent, a sleeping bag and other things. Unlike the academy, the city accepted payment in gold, but there was a problem.

I didn't know the city and walking around it without knowing anything could lead to problems for which I was not ready. Looking around, I found a bored professor who was standing near the exit from the arena, approaching him, he noticed that I was approaching him and his bored look disappeared.

- Good afternoon, professor, can you please tell me where I can find a store in the city to buy equipment for recreation in the forest? - I asked after the professor bowed and examined me, then touching the ring in his hands appeared a card that he handed me.

- Take this card, it shows all the shops in the city, in some you can get a discount because of the form, but don't be greedy. - The professor said, having accepted the card, bowing, I went to the exit from the arena, having reached the exit, I heard someone calling someone, but this did not concern me, shrugging my shoulders, I went on.

After going through the whole forest, only then I noticed that I still had a sword in my hands taken from the dean of Ama'Layne. It was still daytime, so I decided to first go to the hostel to leave the sword there in the city, nothing should have threatened me.

Returning to the hostel and leaving the sword and taking the gold in the room, I opened the map and started looking at the nearest stores nearby, there were a couple of stores that specialized in selling travel goods and most likely I could get a discount on equipment in them. Taking a map with me, I went down to the first floor when I saw a half-empty hall, I headed towards the exit from the academy at the exit from the academy there was a gate and next to it there was a building, as I understood it, there were guards who were guarding the entrance, few could attack the academy, but still there were such groups that could try to steal information or stufon.

Approaching the building, I looked around, but not seeing any of the guards, deciding to knock on the door, as soon as I touched my hand, the door suddenly opened in front of me; emblem. His gaze changed when he returned to the room by pressing which buttons on the table the gates began to open, returning to me he spoke.

- You will need to return to the academy before dark when you return, give this to the guard, he will let you through. - Handing me a white card, the guard spoke in a bass voice.

Nodding and taking the map from the hands of the guard, I headed to the city. The academy was located on a mountain with a view of the whole city; you could see how people and representatives of other races walked around the city. The city was a large walled one, I saw two entrances to the city, one was intended for merchants and their goods, the other entrance was intended for travelers, being close to the academy, residents and merchants got the opportunity to live in safety and trade with those who study at the academy.

- Where is this stufon hiding? Not only did he ignore when I called him so now, like a rat, he disappeared after passing the second test. - Annoyed Nreu said

After Nreu was defeated by Trey, he hoped to get revenge on him in the second test. But Trey's performance was a shock both for him and for everyone. If before his speech, Nreu wanted to teach a lesson in courtesy for treating him like a prince, then now he was interested in recruiting him into his group for the third test, and perhaps even he would swear allegiance to the Cray empire, which would make Nreu even closer to throne. But the more he dreamed, the more he became annoyed that he could not find Trey, when he returned to the hostel, he found out what room he lived in, approaching Nreu's room, he began to knock loudly and shout to open the door for him. who looked irritably at Nreu's behavior.

- Man what are you doing? - Asked the irritated elf, he did not try to hide his irritation from the person who distracted him from the knowledge of his strength.

- I'm trying to get through to this rat that lives in this room. You saw him? - Asked Nreu turning to the light elf.

The light elf, did not understand what kind of rat the person in front of him was talking about, perhaps he was sick? Closing his eyes, the elf began to remember who he saw entering and leaving the room next to him. After remembering, he was presented with an image of a half-elf with his hair tied behind him, who was leaving the dorm when he returned from the arena as a spectator.

- A human, he may be a half-elf but not like a rat, or in your country all half-breeds are treated arrogantly? - The elf asked even more annoyed from the understanding that this man treated the half-elf not as an equal, but as an inferior, which hurt the pride of the light elf, although the light and dark elves were in conflict, but they were still representatives of the same race.

Hearing the question and intonation of the light elf, Nreu began to understand that by succumbing to emotions, he could only dishonor the Kray empire. It was forbidden in the world to harass or insult other races and he, as the heir to the throne, made such a mistake he could only curse his luck and his emotionality.

- Of course not, I compared him with a rodent on strong emotions, you should have seen his performance at the test, I want to recruit him into my group to pass the third test, but in the arena he ignored me and now he does not open the door. - Nreu tried to smooth the situation as much as possible if the professors found out about it, even if he passed the third test, he would seem to be the smallest problem.

- Man, he left as soon as he came back, I can only assume that he went shopping to buy things for the third test. - The elf spoke calmly, he saw Trey's performance and he understood the interest of other stufons in him, if he were in the place of a man, he also tried to recruit him.

Nreu, listening to the words of the light elf, began to understand that his behavior was stupid to break into the door behind which there was no one. But how could he know this? Shaking his head, he apologized to the elf and left. The light elf watched as Nreu left, shaking his head, returning to the room, he set up a sound barrier, as he foresaw that this was not the last one who wanted to recruit the half-elf.
