Chapter 90 - STRICT DIRECTOR

Angela composed herself after being left alone in the manager's office and waited patiently for him to finish the call he was receiving. She let her eyes roam over the office and she saw some of the awards that had been presented to the company.

She read them and smiled to herself. The awards were runner-up awards and she knew instantly why they had accepted her within a click of an eye. They needed someone with good skills and qualifications and she had gotten many of them, so why won't she be accepted? At that moment, she felt proud of herself. Although it hasn't been easy for her at least, she has worked hard to be that great.

The call finally ended, fifteen minutes after she came in and she was already so bored that she didn't know when it ended until the manager called her attention.

"Miss Thompson?" The manager called, jabbing her thoughts away and she raised her head to face him.

"Good Morning, sir," she greeted as she took his seat in front of her, his desk standing in the middle.

"Good Morning, you don't have to be formal," the manager said and Angela nodded in agreement.

"I'm Garry by the way," he introduced and brought his hands out for a handshake which Angela received immediately. He continued after they shook hands, "I just finished talking to the director and he said he's on his way to see you, do you have any questions you want to ask before his arrival?" the manager disclosed and fear gripped her. All her mind was that she would be signing the contract with the manager but then, he told her she would be meeting the strict director before she get her contract signed. She looked at the manager and he noticed her countenance. "Is there any problem? Feel free to ask me anything that might be bothering you."

"Uhm, I… I just… I only need to know… Uhm…," she shuttered and pushed her hair backwards, feeling nervous.

Garry smiled, "You were talking so calmly now until you heard the director would be visiting. Anyways I understand but you don't have to be worried. If you're able to give him a good reproach, I bet he wouldn't go that tough on you," Garry assured but Angela wasn't confused since his statement still says the director would be tough as known.

"Okay, can I ask a few questions?" She asked and sat up in her seat.

"As I said, I'm all ears," Garry answered and leaned back to his chairs, folding his hands beneath his chest.

"I applied just a day ago and I was accepted immediately, can I know why?"

"Of course, your qualifications," Garry said, "Gregory companies don't wait too long to accept their future stars so no other company would steal them away," he clarified and Angela nodded in agreement. He was right. There is competition in every company and each company is racing to get to the top so what Garry had said made sense to her.

"Why did the director have to see me?"

"Okay, here it goes. Gregory is a strict company as you know and it's all because of the rigorous owner. He gives interviews to anybody ready to partner with the company. Of course, if you don't pass his ordinances then, I don't think you'll be offered a contract," Garry disclosed

"Oh! I see," Angela mumbled and kept quiet while Garry went on to give her some advice on how to convince the strict director.

After a moment of chatting, a call came into Garry's phone and he was informed that the director had arrived.

"I'll lead you to his office," Garry said and beckoned Angela to follow after him.

The director's office was on the last floor of the five-story building so they had to make use of the elevator. Angela breathed in and out the moment they got to the front of the office and Garry told her to go in. She gave Garry one more glance and he smiled at her, assuring her that it would be okay. She wished the encouragement was coming from Mathias but he had insisted she shouldn't work.

With the thought of Mathias telling her not to work, she got back her courage and gave the door a slight knock. The director's voice came out telling her to go in and she pushed the door open. She closed the door behind her and walked fully into the classic office. Everything in the office looked distinctive and clean indicating the personality of the director. "He will be an ethical person," she thought, scanning him from head to toe since he was bracing her, standing in front of a reflector glass, receiving a call the same way his manager was. She let herself admire him from behind. He was almost the same height as Mathias. Athletic but huge than Mathias. He was looking perfect too like her boyfriend making her wonder if he was cuter than him.

He was still on the call when he turned around to face her. As Angela had thought, he was looking more handsome than her boyfriend but she didn't let his handsomeness get into her head, he was strict. Just then, she giggled and the director raised his eyebrows at her requesting why she laughed. When Angela remembered she was in front of him, she let out a gasp and mumbled a sorry. She had just recalled that Mathias was stricter than everyone else and she had chuckled, accusing the person she just met that was strict.

The director ignored her and pointed at a seat in front of the desk where she should sit and she did. The director finally ended that call and pulled out of his seat. As they both settled down to discuss, her eyes caught up to a glass template placed in front of the desk and his name was inscribed on it.

"Auston Gregory?" She mumbled to herself. She had somehow heard the name somewhere but she couldn't remember where she had heard the name. She scoffed to herself and remembered that was not why she was there.

"You're?" His hoarse voice asked.

"Angela Thompson," she introduced and he nodded.

"Auston, Auston Gregory," he also introduced and brought his hand out for and handshake. As usual, Angela took received the handshake.
