There's something I have to tell you Cade" my Aunt said as she lightly touched my shoulder. I pushed her hand away and looked around me. They were all staring at me with wide eyes, hands by their sides, and with those creepy hoods over their faces. I asked my Aunt what in the hell was going on but she only looked at me with an expression which can be best described as worrisome. "Cade baby, you have to calm down and take a deep breath. You're only making things worse for yourself and we don't wanna get physical with you." I was shocked that my own Aunt would threaten me but most importantly that my own cousin wouldn't speak up and help me or at least explain to me what was going on. I looked at him and yelled at him to explain why that girl just called this party an "initiation". All he could say was "This will all make sense soon but just calm the fuck down right now." That was it, that was my breaking point so I decided to make a run for it. I shoved Aunt Lisa and Donte out the way and made a break for the gate leading out the driveway. "GET HIM" the girl said as I was inching closer to my exit. I couldn't believe it,I actually might make it out but what would I tell my mom when I see her, how would she react to me telling her that her sister and nephew drove me to a fucking cult in the middle of no where for a so called "intiation". I couldn't think about that now, I had to think about escaping first then seeing my mom later. The gate was getting in my sight but the closer I got the more I began to see a figure standing in front of it. You wouldn't believe what I saw. It was my mom. I can't begin to fathom how confused I was when I saw her. I stopped running and walked to her slowly, I saw she was weathering the exact same thing the people on the steps were but she had a gold fabric draped around her shoulders and dangling to her waist. Mom, what are you doing here? I asked with confusion in my voice but with tears in my eyes. "Its gonna be ok sweetie" she said with watery eyes. That's when I felt a cold needle hit my neck and everything faded to black.
Some time later
I was woken up by a blinding light being put in my face."Great you're up, we're just about to start" the mysterious girl said with a smirk on her face. I looked around me and noticed that my feet and arms were chained together while also sitting in a chair. It seemed to me like I was in a living room with the only light coming from the gigantic fireplace and candles around the walls. Where am I and what happened to me, I asked in confusion because everything before had been a blur. " You tried to run away from us but we got you" she said laughing at me while walking around my chair. I tried to get free from the chains but to no avail. It didn't work."Don't bother trying to struggle again, that's reinforced steel on you right now, that means you can't escape". You really think a skinny 16 year old is gonna be able to escape from these I said sarcastically.
"No but when you turn in a couple minutes you'll be able to rip apart a person with ease so I'm not gonna take any chances" That sentence stunned me because what did she mean by "when I turn". The look on my face must've concerned her as she said "Look everything is gonna be fine all you have to do is listen to the Head of the Den and you'll be ok, I promise you. I asked her who the Head of the Den was to which she replied while keeping eye contact "Ur mom Cade, it's your mom". That's when everything came back to me, Aunt Lisa and Donte, the people on the steps, my mom. It was all too much for me and I started to breathe heavily and sweat, I was having a panic attack. The girl quickly came over to me and tried to calm me down."Hey you're gonna be fine, I'll make sure nothing happens to you I promise." She said all this while looking into my eyes then I noticed how beautiful hers were. They were dark brown but I really recognized how deep they were. I could get lost in them for days and my heart bgan to pound faster but not from the panic attack but from the smile she was giving me. I could only respond with one word, "yeah". I told her I never caught her name to which she replied, "it's Brooklyn, Brooklyn Black" she told me with a smile on her pretty face. A sudden slam interrupted our little moment and she rushed over to the fireplace and grabbed a candle. Multiple footsteps could be heard from upstairs and hooded figures started to make their descent downstairs. As they came into my view more clearly I could tell it was the exact same people from the steps of the house. Slowly they surrounded my chair but not before they each grabbed a candle off the wall. At that moment it was dead quiet, nobody said a word, for some reason my mouth stayed shut and couldn't even utter a sound. "ALL HAIL THE HEAD OF THE DEN" a man yelled with a white cloth over his shoulders, I'm assuming he's at a different rank than the others. "ALL HAIL THE MOTHER" the rest of the group yelled simultaneously as they pointed towards a green and gold door at the top of the stairs. Two guards opened the door and in came my mom. She looked beautiful even though I was upset with her for doing this to me and putting me through this. This time she was wearing a white dress with a gold cloth over her shoulders. Gracefully she walked on a green carpet leading directly towards my chair with the guards standing besides her holding her hands. She stopped in the middle of the circle of the unknown group but she had no candle in hand, I'm guessing since she's in charge she doesn't have to do that. "NOW HONOR YOUR MOTHER" the man with the white cloth said. The rest of the group then once again simoustanly bowed their heads. "My son this may all be confusing to you but now that you are here, I'm finally able to tell you the truth. You have special abilities that can only be given if you are the first son of your family. Cade you are a beautiful beast, you are a wolf and this is your pack." she told me this and motioned her arms at the others to reveal themselves. I was stunned, speechless as I recognized every single person in the room now. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, I knew them all, every single one of them. Then I saw them, Aunt Lisa and Donte. I asked her what was going on and why they were here but she softly interrupted me. "Cade baby I understand this is a lot to take in but you have to listen to me to fully understand". I slowly nodded my head and she began to speak again."Thousands of years ago our ancestors were given powers to protect each other and their homeland. These three groups stuck together but were separated during wars and slavery. When they finally found each other, wars began. Because of trauma, jealousy, and distrust they began to hate one another to despise one another. This new found hate caused thousands of us to to die and be slaughtered mercilessly by one another. The leaders of these groups, Tiurakh the leader of the wealthy Fangs, Oshun the leader of the knowleadful Whispers, and Asase Ya the leader of the Pack swore to end the war if they would never contact or breed with one another as long as the groups existed. Now that comes to us Cade, now see when the first son turns 16 he is given the power to turn into the wolf at night". I told him that still didn't answer my question of why I was there. "Well when the son turns 16 and a full moon is outside they're blood changes into something inhuman. They begin to change into a beast and at first they want to destroy everything in sight. But they must control it in order to transform into the wolf at a whim even if a full moon isn't out.That's why we have you here so we can protect you from yourself and protect the rest of the people near you. After she was finished speaking I finally understood what was happening but there was just one thing, what was next for me. The man with the white cloth suddenly spoke again, "It's time Ma'm". My mom motioned with her fingers and pointed towards the curtains covering the windows. My Cousin Donte walked over to the curtain along with Brooklyn and pulled them down furiously exposing a full moon. "Now sweetie this is gonna hurt a little bit and we'll feel strange but I promise you I will not let you hurt yourself and this is normal". As I looked at the moon my body began to tingle, my heart began to burn and my vision began to blur. That's when the growling came out of my mouth uncontrollably while I also felt my blood boil. My teeth were now growing quickly while simultaneously getting sharper. "YES YES IT'S HAPPENING, MY BOY IS ONE OF US NOW" my mom yelled while my family cheered for me. That's when everything went black.
