Chapter 1 - AIMEE'S BIRTH

Light raincoats and umbrellas could be seen everywhere in the streets of Abbey road as the rain showered to mark the end of the long, wet, windy, cold and snowy winter. The spring is the perfect weather to show the end of the snowy winter season.

It's when the leaves start turning green again and nature starts giving birth to new animal babies. Rain in the ending of spring is no surprise as the weather flips at times. The pure streets of London with buildings in storeys carry chimneys on their rooftops. Chimneys that worked all through the winter to keep each household warm. The landscape always looks more beautiful during summer when people go to the beach and relax. The roads were mostly lonely during the noon periods as adults go to work to provide for their little families while children go to school to study hard and become useful citizens, which is the desire of the their parents and their teachers.

Abbey road has nice schools that teach the best to the students. Winery, restaurants and teaching were all nice occupations in streets of Abbey road, London. At night, the streets are usually busy as people find their way home from work and other social gatherings that require or otherwise. For the youngsters, this was the time to have fun and mingle with like minds such as theirs after the long hard day of brainstorming in classrooms of the University. Clubs and bars are patronized at these fun hours of the night. The city is much more lively at night, especially in summer and spring too.

Mornings are all serious business as pupils and students try to meet up with their school bus time. Nobody likes missing the bus, either you ride a bike all the way to school or go with your parents who drop you off pretty early or pretty late, either way, it's particularly not a joy ride till it's in the school bus where you meet up with your friends from a different class and talk about the day. The weekends are usually the best as each family has something planned out for a family fun. It may be a visit to grandma's, a picnic then visit to amusement parks, Sundays may be for mom and dad's dinner date or a family dinner night or it might just be a quiet weekend with an empty house of busy parents that never show up, even during the weekends. For teens, it was the perfect period to have small get-together with your group of friends or nice romantic time out with their partners in pairs or just a single couple.

In the hustle and bustle of the beautiful streets of London, Frederick Malcolm and his wife, Emily Malcolm live in one of the fine buildings in Abbey road, London. They are a young couple who have been married for five years with the fire of love still bur hot with them.

No matter how busy they get, they still made sure they make the most of the time they have with each other.

Freddie and Emily both were involved in the wine business as well producers and manufacturers of quality wine, fresh from the South Wacks vineyard. The business started when they were yet to be married. Frederick was a boy with black hair and brown eyes who hailed from a humble background when he met Emily, a girl with black hair and brown eyes too, whose family was well to do.

Freddie had just graduated from the university back then when he met Emily in the winery where he went to learn how to make wine. Emily seemed to have the same dreams of owning a wine business as Freddie did. Emily's father owned a plantation, more like a vineyard but he didn't make wine, he sold it to wine manufacturers for high prices which kept his family financially buoyant but Emily knew more could be done especially being the inheritor of the plantation.

Emily and Frederick's days in the winery blossomed from friendship into beautiful love as they enjoyed each other's company all the way. With Emily's parents approval, Freddie became the prospective husband to her and the in-law to be. As time went on, ignoring the opposition and discouragement from neighbors and friends, Frederick and Emily were able to transform the vineyard into a small winery that produced really good wine. After which they proceeded with their wedding plans and got married in Emily's church, St John Parish. It was a small but beautiful wedding.

And today, the couple have many wineries signed under their name that produced quality wine and their love seem to have grown stronger. Though they had no children yet, they weren't really bothered.

"Darling, Helen has invited us to her child's birthday party this weekend" Emily said one night as she sat up in her night wear on their king's sized bed.

"That's tomorrow, I suppose?" Freddie asked, getting ready for the night.

"No, it's Saturday. She said it's better Saturday so all the children in the neighborhood will come" Emily explained.

"Well, that's nice of her" Freddie said climbing the bed.

"Yes, it is. Freddie..." Emily called.

"Yes" Freddie answered, adjusting the blanket on him.

"I really can't wait till we have our own child so we can throw parties for him and invite our neighbors to gatherings" Emily said smiling.

"Yes, me either but who says it going to be a boy" Freddie asked with furrowed eye brows.

"I say it's going to be a boy" Emily said looking at Freddie.

"Oh no no no, it's going to be a beautiful girl, just like her beautiful mother" Freddie said gently pinching Emily's cheek making her blush.

"Oh, Freddie... But it's going to be a boy, a cute one at that" Emily said smiling into her imagination.

"Don't be so sure Missy, for the meantime, let's have our rest now, shall we? " Freddie said while Emily nodded. She placed her head on his chest while Freddie wrapped his hands around her.

"Tomorrow is another big day" Emily voiced out while Freddie smiles and gently, she closed her eyes.

That same week, a neighbor of theirs moved out and the next week, a new couple moved into the neighborhood with their barely a year old son, replacing the former neighbors. Lewis and Maya Horace seemed to be a very nice, at least from appearance, one could tell how simple they are.

"Hello, need help with that?" Emily asked as she saw Maya struggling with a big box up the stairs.

"Yes, please" Maya said, now smiling. Emily moved closer and helped her in holding the bag all the way up the short stairs.

"Welcome to our neighborhood, miss..." Emily said.

"Maya, Maya Horace" Maya said introducing herself.

"OK, Maya, I'm Emily, I live just beside you" Emily said.

"Really, that's nice" Maya said smiling broadly.

"Yes, I should take my leave now that this is up" Emily said referring to the luggage.

"Oh no, won't you like to have a little lunch with us, I managed to make some delicious pie, you would love it if you had a bite" Maya suggested.

"I'm sure it will be delicious, but I think I'll save that for a next time" Emily said smiling.

"OK, if you say so and we are hosting a party for the celebration of our new home tomorrow evening, we would love it if you come, we are inviting the neighborhood" Maya said.

"That will be nice, we'll be here tomorrow" Emily said.

"Great, see you tomorrow, thanks again" Maya said while Emily turned to leave.

"You're welcome" Emily replied, going down the stairs.

Lewis and Maya threw a nice party as all the neighbors invited showed up to welcome the new neighbors and their little son with nice welcome presents. A lot of things were given out at the party and everyone went home with gifts as there was enough for all who came. Lewis is a man who has brown hair with dull brown eyes but Maya had black hair with very attractive brown eyes while their little boy, Jasper, had brown hair like his father then beautiful brown eyes like his mother. Even at the age of one, Jasper looked very cute and seemed to be an eye catcher.

Lewis And Maya Horace are also into the wine business and are very successful. They have one of the best wineries around and seem to be in the same level of quality as the Malcolm's. The relationship between the Horaces and the Malcolms seemed to be a healthy one as they had dinner nights during the weekend and go on outings together except when Frederick and Emily went to his parents house for Sunday dinners.

"Wow, this is good wine, it's nice" Lewis said one day as he tasted Freddie's wine. They were in an outdoor restaurant just the two of them.

"Thanks, blessed by nature itself" Freddie said, taking a sip of the wine himself.

"Yes, it is, but not as mine though" Lewis said and they both laugh.

"Undeniably, your wine is good" Freddie said, smiling.

"Yes, it is, worked hard for it and now it's one of the best" Lewis said.

"Yes. Cheers to the best of wines" Freddie said raising his glass cup and they clinged their cups together.

"Cheers" Lewis said and they both gulp the wine.

The birthday party of little Jasper turning two was a nice one as all the neighbors were invited again to celebrate his new age.

Jasper was already walking now and he could say some words. The little boy was really an eye catcher as everyone in the neighborhood loved him. The party had a huge pinatas of a cute unicorn which the children struck with their candy sticks till candy burst out and they picked enough to fill them up.

"Nice party, Maya" Emily said at the end of the party.

"Oh, thank you, Emily, it's for our little boy, he deserves it, don't you think so?" Maya said.

"He sure does. Anyway, it was a lovely party and I think we should go home now, it's getting really late, have to go to work in the morning" Emily said.

"I understand, thank you for coming to the party" Maya said while Freddie concluded his talk With Lewis, so they can go to home. At home, they again talked about how they would throw a nice party for their little child when they give birth.

The next morning, Emily wakes up pretty early and goes to throw up in the bathroom.

"What is it, darling?" Freddie asked as she entered the bedroom from the bathroom. He was surprised by the action.

"I don't know" Emily said taking her seat beside Freddie who sat up on the bed.

"Maybe I ate a little too much yesterday" She resting her head on his left shoulder while he held her by her left shoulder.

"So sorry, hope you will be OK?" Freddie asked and Emily nods but soon stands up to go throw up again. Coming out the second time, she leaned on the wall of the bathroom door.

"I don't think I can go to work today, I don't think I feel so good" Emily said weakly.

"Should we go to the hospital?" Freddie asked.

"No, I'll be fine, I just need a little rest, that's all" Emily said.

"OK, if you say so, come lie down" Freddie said holding her hand and leading her to the bed. Emily lay still on the bed while Freddie prepared a breakfast of toast bread and some fried eggs. After giving her breakfast in bed, Freddie prepare himself for work, he had a few things to do in the office so he has to go.

"Be strong OK, I'll be right back" Freddie said when he was done with his preparation for work. He placed a light kiss on her forehead before leaving the house.

When Frederick came back home, his wife just finished making lunch and was setting up the table.

"Welcome home honey" Emily said while Freddie pecked her on the cheek.

"And how's my queen doing?" Freddie asked studying her

"I'm better now, sit down, it's lunch" Emily said and Freddie sat at the table. Emily dished out the food for him but she turned to leave.

"Aren't you eating with me?" Freddie asked.

"No, because for some reason, I feel nauseated by the food" Emily explained.

"Hmm... Strange isn't it?" Freddie said.

"Yes, it is, but I have the urge to eat something spicy instead, something like seafood that's spicy" Emily said.

"Then let's go out for lunch" Freddie suggested.

"Now that's after I eat, right?" Emily asked looking pretty serious with a frown making Freddie nod so she smiled.

The following day, Emily threw up again so they decided to go for a check up and found out Emily's pregnant.

Months passed and after the scan, they found out it was a girl so they prepared for her and there she came on the ninth month. Emily called her Aimee, meaning beloved, as soon as she saw her baby girl. Freddie and Emily had so much joy on the arrival of the much awaited little angel, Aimee.

It was the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
